Ayushmann Khurrana's Article 15 is a thought-provoking depiction of the reality of discrimination, on the basis of caste and gender, prevailing in the country.
Directed by Anubhav Sinha, Article 15, which has completed two years of its release today, is the biggest slap on the face of the hierarchical system that is still very much prevalent in the country.
The plot of the movie bears resemblance to the 2014 Badaun gang rape and murder case.
The movie worked wonders at the box office and left a cathartic effect on its viewers.
We had seen Ayushmann nailing comic roles in movies like Badhaai Ho and Vicky Donor, but this movie was an altogether different experience for movie buffs as they got to see the actor in a different avatar.
He played the role of a no-nonsense policeman who wants to crack a rather gruesome local case and wants to make people understand that humanity is beyond the caste system and societal taboos.
© Zee Music Company
Can you even imagine Ayushmann not being a part of this film? It surely is a thought that is hard to process, as we can’t imagine anyone else play the character of ASP Ayan Ranjan.
But did you know that Ayushmann was not the first choice for this film?
© Zee Music Company
Director Anubhav Sinha wanted to have Ranbir Kapoor on board for the movie. When things didn’t materialize with Ranbir, it was then that the director got in touch with Ayushmann.
Sinha went to meet the actor for some other project but Ayushmann showed interest in the script and was roped in. Well, clearly, it was indeed a great decision.
© Zee Music Company
In an interview with Mid-Day, the actor said, “Article 15 is a special film in my filmography and I can’t thank Anubhav Sinha sir for giving me one of the most cherished films of my career. It was an eye-opening film for me and helped me see things from a different lens. We will need films like Article 15, with its superlative content, to pull people back to theatres.”
He added, “We will need to be disruptive and present fresh content for people to enjoy, engage and discuss. I’m a firm believer that the pandemic and lockdowns have made us more opinionated than before and people would only want to invest time and energy in things that are unique and different. They would want to have community experiences that are worthwhile.”

Ayushmann will next be seen in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui, directed by Abhishek Kapoor. The film also stars Vaani Kapoor.
Besides this, he has Anek with Anubhavn Sinha and Doctor G in the pipeline.

The last two years haven't really been that great for Bollywood in general.
Firstly, the Covid-19 pandemic has seriously hampered the operations of making films and TV shows with the respective lockdowns in Maharasthra obstructing the smooth churn-out of visual content.
© BCCL
Moreover, even if you make films, where do you show them as cinema halls too have been shut as part of the Covid-19 restrictions across the country.

Without a doubt, the industry has lost out on a lot of money through this time. However, that isn't the only situation that has gone out of hand.
Ever since the death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput last year, Bollywood has had a serious case of bad PR with India's Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) launching an investigation in the use of drugs in the industry.
© BCCL
Top Bollywood actors like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Arjun Rampal have been among some already interrogated in connection with the case and well, things haven't really died down since.
Now, in what will be another blow to the industry, the Maharashtra police on Sunday (June 27) busted an alleged rave party in Nashik and took into custody 22 people that included Bollywood actors, choreographers, and also ex-contestants of the Bigg Boss reality show.

As per the police, the private bungalow or party pad was raided after they received a tip-off about people consuming alcohol along with other illegal intoxicants.
The police also recovered a huge amount of narcotics substance as well as cash in the raid.

"22 persons, including 12 women were arrested and several types of drugs and cash seized from their possession after the police busted an alleged rave party at a private bungalow in the Igatpuri hill station of Nashik district of Maharashtra."
"All have been taken into custody and further investigation is on, during the initial investigation it has been found that out of 12 women 5 to 6 women are actresses from the Bollywood film industry and south films. It is also known that one the female is ex-contestant of famous reality show big boss," said a police official.
The police also said that they are on the lookout for the organizers of the rave party while also confirming that the detainees are undergoing medical examinations.
"We are also trying to get the organizers of the rave party and action will be taken against them too. The medical examination is being carried on all the detained people for further action," said the police official.

In a tuxedo, everyone is a star. Leonardo DiCaprio’s character Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby would agree!
Do you remember the first look of Jay Gatsby from the movie? In a house party full of finely dressed men, the gentleman radiated class, ease and power.
That’s the kind of detailing we’re talking about here.
The colour. The stitches. The collar. The tuxedo shirt. The tie. Even socks play an important role in making a tux look like a million bucks.
You can experiment as much as you like but you’ll keep going back to a suit if it fits you right, looks good on you and makes you look different every time you wear it. That’s the beauty.
So start making notes, ol’ sport!
1. Black Is Great But Midnight Blue Is Even Better © iStock
The priority when choosing a tuxedo is not the designer or the style—it’s the fit. If the suit doesn’t sit and fit right, you don’t feel confident regardless of the brand you’re wearing.
Another important thing to consider when making a purchase or renting a tux is its colour. Most men tend to go for black and it’s a great choice but midnight blue is the new cool because it looks better in flash photography.
2. Tuxedo Shirts 101A tuxedo is always complemented by a crisp, comfortable and classic tuxedo shirt. They are not designed for an everyday office setting. For this reason, cotton remains the best choice of fabric.
When it comes to its colour, you’ve got to go McConaughey on this one—all white, all white, all white.
Steer clear of a wing collar. Opt for conventional ones. A wing collar in formal shirts was traditionally meant for white-tie occasions. So, if you wear one with a black bow tie, you’ll have to tuck the wings behind the tie. They should not peek out above it.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1955__
3. Wear Long Black Socks … So you don’t expose any calf when sitting down. A rookie mistake.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1956__
4. A Bow Tie Is Always BetterA lot of men are used to wearing a necktie with tuxedos, nothing wrong there but a black or midnight blue bowtie—ideally made from the same material as the suit’s lapel—is a better option.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1957__
5. Pair Your Cufflinks With A Thin Dress WatchFrench cuffs are designed for formal occasions and should always be secured by cufflinks. So feel free to show off your cufflink collection while sporting a tuxedo. But also remember to pair them with a thin dress watch.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1958__
__ECOMPRODUCT__1959__
The BottomlineTuxedos can truly help you make an impression as long as you know all the right tricks including the colour and fabric of your pocket square.
Pair a tux with a white pocket square in linen or cotton. Most men love to experiment with the colours and fabrics but when it comes to dressing sharp, a little creativity is what makes each look unique.

Union Minister Kiren Rijiju took to Twitter to express his disappointment and said that he was sad to see disrespect for sports. He reacted to senior Maharashtra ministers and Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar using a sports stadium racetrack to park their cars during a meeting in Pune.

BJP MLA Siddharth Shirole took to Twitter and wrote, “#VIP Culture & Arrogance of the #MVA...Athletic track at Shivchhatrapati Sports Complex (#PUNE ) being used as a parking lot for Cars belonging Ex. IOA President @PawarSpeaks ji, Sports Cabinet Minister @SunilKedar1111 ji and MoS Sports @iAditiTatkare ji”
On Saturday, Sharad Pawar, the former chief of the Indian Olympics Association, visited Pune’s Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex along with State Sports Minister Sunil Kedar and Minister of State Aditi Tatkare to review a project.
Later, apologizing for the incident, Pune officials said that only one vehicle was supposed to be parked on the cement concrete near the track- of Mr Pawar whose had asked for permission due to the problem of his leg.
According to ANI, the ministers didn’t want to use the elevators to the second floor of the sports complex where the meeting room is. To avoid any inconvenience, the ministers decided to take the cars up to the second floor of the complex and parked them on the track.
The Pune administration also put out an apology saying, "The incident has been noted by the Sports Minister and instructions have been issued to make sure that such an incident is not repeated. Going forward it will be made sure that vehicles are not allowed at an athletic track.”
Here’s what people have to say about this-
Definitely track will be damaged. Who ever runs on these tracks risks injury and will be at an disadvantage to other runners.

The number one rule of skincare is to always wear SPF. This is already a well known fact but do we actually wear it every single day?
For most of us, the answer is no.
According to dermatologists, sunscreen must be worn daily and reapplied throughout the day. This is not only essential for good skin but also for reducing the risk of skin disorders caused by the Sun.
However, science isn’t enough to develop good habits, is it?
With so many rumours and myths about when and how to use sunscreen, it’s easy to get misinformed and develop wrong skincare habits.
Well, not anymore because this guide will address all your questions on SPF and sunscreens.
What Is SPF? © iStock
SPF stands for ‘Sun Protection Factor’ and calculates a product’s ability to protect your skin against the UVB rays. SPF cannot be used to judge protection against UVA rays, which also cause harm to your skin.
A sunscreen that offers ‘broad spectrum’ protection will provide protection against UVA as well as UVB rays. Broad spectrum sunscreens also come with a ‘P+’ sign. The more number of ‘+’ signs indicate higher levels of protection, i.e. P+ is low level, P++ is moderate and P+++ or more is a high level of protection.
How Much SPF Should You Use? © Giphy
In simple terms, the higher the SPF is, the longer protection you get.
For example, if your skin normally takes about 1 minute to start reacting to the UVB rays (burning, redness, etc.), a sunscreen with SPF 15 will delay the reactivity and damage by 15 minutes, SPF 30 by 30 minutes, and so on.
You can apply this formula by observing how sensitive your skin is to the Sun and figure out which SPF is best suited for you. Generally, SPF 30-50 is considered good enough.

Different Types Of Sunscreens © MensXP
There are mainly two types of sunscreens - mineral sunscreens and chemical sunscreens. Both these types have their own way of working against the UV rays and they both have their pros and cons.
Mineral Sunscreens As the name suggests, mineral sunscreens have more natural ingredients like zinc oxide and titanium dioxide. These sunscreens sit on the surface and block the sun rays. In doing so, they provide complete protection against the UV rays since none of the rays pass through to the skin.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1952__
Chemical Sunscreens Chemical sunscreens are easier to get absorbed into the skin. They work by absorbing the UV rays, converting them into heat and then releasing them through the skin.
These sunscreens are not dermatologists’ favourite because they do not provide complete protection. Some of the rays can get absorbed by the skin. They’re also responsible for clogging pores and aren’t the best choice for acne-prone skin.
Best Sunscreens For Oily/Combination Skin Sunscreens can also be classified on the basis of their formulation. Sunscreens in the form of gel, sprays and powders are best suited for oily or combination skin types.
Here are some of the best sunscreens for oily skin that you can choose from:
Sunscreen Facial Mist With SPF 45 This lightweight, oil-free formula is perfect for men with oily skin. It leaves behind no grease and claims to provide a 10 hour protection.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1537__
Green Tea Daylight Sunscreen With SPF 35 This next sunscreen is a gel-based formula and is a great choice for men with acne prone skin. It provides light moisturisation, gets absorbed easily and is perfect for humid and hot weather.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1340__
Sunscreen Spray Lotion With SPF 40 Spray lotions or mists are the best type of sunscreens for men with oily skin. This one has a high SPF as well as broad spectrum protection.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1015__
Most Wanted Sunscreen With SPF 50 Alongside it’s high SPF, this sunscreen also offers broad spectrum protection against UVA rays. It’s formulated using natural ingredients like cucumber that’ll keep your skin cool and oil-free.

Best Sunscreens For Dry/Normal Skin © MensXP
Dry skin types can tolerate heavy oil-based sunscreens. Your skin may or may not be acne-prone but it definitely needs as much hydration as possible.
Here are some of the best sunscreens for dry skin that you can choose from:
Water Resistant Sunscreen With SPF 40+This sunscreen has ingredients like sea buckthorn oil and wheat germ oil which are great for dry skin types. It also offers protection against UVA rays with its P+++ formula.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1288__
Oxybenzone & OMC Free Sunscreen With SPF 50 This sunscreen will protect your skin against skin ageing and skin burning, by providing protection against UVA & UVB rays.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1186__
Organic Harvest Sunscreen With SPF 50 This sunscreen provides protection against UVA, UVB as well as blue light rays. The unique formulation consists of aloe vera extracts, rice extracts and soya bean oil.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1953__
Anti-Pollution Sunscreen Lotion With SPF 30 Enriched with Japanese matcha and raspberry seed oil, this sunscreen is a must for every man with dry skin. It provides nourishment and a full spectrum protection for your skin.
__ECOMPRODUCT__1954__
How To Use Sunscreen? There are many myths around how one should use sunscreen the right way. Here’s everything that you need to know about it.
When Should You Apply? © MensXP
Sunscreen should be applied during the day, daily. It should also be reapplied every couple of hours. Yes, you must apply sunscreen even when you’re indoors because the UV rays can penetrate through the windows too.
You can skip sunscreen only if you live in a house that has no natural light coming in, which is rare. So, if you want good skin, you can’t skip sunscreen in your daily routine.
Where Should You Apply? © iStock
Applying sunscreen to your face and lips is a must, since these areas are always exposed. You must also apply sunscreen on any other part of your body that will be directly exposed throughout the day.
The Bottomline To conclude, we would just like to say that sun exposure is extremely damaging to the skin and can evidently cause skin cancer and many other skin problems. Wearing sunscreen is not just a good skincare habit but also an overall healthy habit.
We hope this guide answered all your doubts on SPF, sun exposure and everything in between.

Ever since India lost the World Test Championship final to New Zealand, skipper Virat Kohli has been receiving a lot of criticism , with many demanding him be stripped of the captaincy duties and replaced by someone like Ajinkya Rahane in Test cricket and Rohit Sharma in the limited-overs format.
While the anger of the fans can be understood because they saw their team bow out of the knockout stage of yet another ICC tournament, blaming Kohli or any other player, for that matter, for Team India’s disappointing performance shouldn’t be encouraged as it’s a team game and only combined performance can help you to glory.
View this post on Instagram
With Kohli receiving heavy criticism, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal has come out in defence of the Indian skipper saying he is a “fantastic captain” and he can’t be blamed solely for the team’s failure.
“Virat Kohli is a big player and a fantastic captain. He is aggressive and very emotional. Any captain who has come in has only taken Indian cricket forward. It started with Sourav Ganguly, then Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni took over,” Akmal said on a YouTube channel.
“Yes, everyone has complained that Virat Kohli hasn’t won any ICC trophy. But, apart from that, he has won almost everything. India have won so many series under Virat Kohli. He has been a bit unlucky, but I have no doubt over his captaincy credentials. He is a great captain and match-winner,” Akmal said.
There is no doubt over Kohli’s credentials as a batsman but it is often forgotten that he is India’s most successful Test skipper ever and has guided the team to several remarkable bi-lateral series victories both home and abroad.
© Reuters
He was the first Asian captain to win a Test series in Australia which is no mean feat, but fans often overlook the fact that before Kohli took over, India were mainly considered to be home-track bullies but now, are regarded as serious threats playing anywhere in the world.
“It (India’s failure to win ICC titles) is not completely Virat Kohli’s fault. What is the guarantee that another captain can come in and win India an ICC trophy? As a team, they have to analyse why they are not winning the big events. They reach the last stages but fail at the final hurdle. It will be unfair to blame only Virat Kohli. According to me, as long as he feels that he can do the job, he should continue,” Akmal added.
© Reuters
That being said, the Indian players must learn from their mistakes and analyse what is keeping them from taking that final leap despite being so dominant in the league stage of any major tournament.

The pandemic has disrupted our normal way of living and students are now relying on online classes instead of attending a traditional school.
People who can afford luxuries like a smartphone and laptop haven’t found it too hard to cope with the new normal but it has been a nightmare for daily wage workers and their children as many of them don’t have access to these necessities of the new world.
Tulsi Kumar, an 11-year-old mango vendor from Jamshedpur, was having a hard time until recently, when she bought a brand new smartphone. How did she do that? She managed to sell a dozen of mangoes at the price of Rs 1.2 lakhs. Yes, you read that right.
Here’s how it all happened:
A businessman from Mumbai, who had heard of Tulsi Kumari's ordeal through a regional media channel came to her help.
According to a report by News18, Ameya Hete bought 12 mangoes from Tulsi Kumari at the cost of Rs 10,000 each.
Mr Hete transferred Rs 1,20,000 to the girl's father Srimal Kumar's account with which the parents bought her a phone.

“We are proud of you Tulsi for setting an example and not submitting to your reality. ‘Where there is a will there is always a way',” Mr Hete tweeted.

He bought her a smartphone for Rs 13,000 and also provided her with a year-long internet connection, to ensure that there was no disruption to the girl's education.
“Tulsi is a very smart and hardworking student. We are happy if she completes her education with the help we have given. We will continue to help her when she needs it," said Ameya Hete to News18.
Such stories make your day and our faith that humanity is still alive is instilled again.
Daily wage workers have been severely hit by the lockdown due to the pandemic as they were forced to come on the roads because of no income sources.
Amidst all the negativity, such gestures fill your heart with positivity and hope. MensXP is proud of you, Mr Hete. We urge many more people to help those who need it.
