In what was clearly a good start to the morning for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in a new survey, the 70-year-old leader steered ahead of many other world leaders in terms of approval ratings.

According to a survey conducted by American data intelligence firm Morning Consult, PM Modi's approval ratings were shown to be higher than that of world leaders of 13 nations.
These countries included the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Australia, Canada, Brazil, Germany, and France.

As per the survey, even though the approval ratings of PM Modi had fallen in May of this year, he still continued to be ahead of other global leaders.
The survey displayed the performance of the Indian leader, who enjoys 66% approval among people.
"MorningConsult, which tracks national ratings of the elected leaders of 13 countries, shows a 20-point slide over the past year in the proportion of Indians who approve of Mr. Modi. Yet at 66% in early June, he still outperforms all the rest," the firm tweeted.

Founded in 2014, Morning Consult tracks national ratings of the elected leaders of 13 countries, with the current sample size of the survey being 2,126 adults in India.
Under Thursday's (June 17) updated Morning Consult Global Leader Approval Rating Tracker, it was shown that while 66 percent approved of PM Modi, 28 percent of the people surveyed disapproved of him.
As per Morning Consult, following PM Modi in the second position was Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi (65%), followed by Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (63%), Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison (54%), German Chancellor Angela Merkel (53%) and US President Joe Biden (53%).

The US leader was followed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (48%), UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson (44%), South Korean President Moon Jae-In (37%), Spanish Spain Pedro Sánchez (36%), Brazilian President Jaire Bolsonaro (35%), French President Emmanuel Macron (35%) and Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga (29%).
Another interesting fact is the change in PM Modi's approval ratings in the past two years.
According to the data, PM Modi's approval ratings in August of 2019 stood higher at 82 percent at the time when his government abrogated Article 370 that gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
As compared to this year, that year only 11 percent of those surveyed disapproved of him.

Battlegrounds Mobile India is now available to play for Beta testers, however, many players couldn’t get access to the game as slots for pre-registration on the Google Play Store were exhausted.
However, if you are unable to download the game due to the Google Play Store restriction, you can still download the game from other sources.
© MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
This is by far the easiest way to get playing Battlegrounds Mobile India without downloading the APK and OBB files.
The aforementioned method doesn’t work for Android users who are running on Android 11, however, this method is the legitimate way to get access to the game.
How to Download Battlegrounds Mobile India © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
1. Step 1: Install the ‘Tap Tap’ app & open this link to access Battlegrounds Mobile India.
2. Step 2: Enable “Install from Unknown Sources” by going to Apps > Tap Tap> Advanced > Allow Install Unkown Apps.
3. Download The Game (702MB)
4. Open the game and download the relevant texture pack i.e. HD/Non-HD
5. Login and Start Playing
How To Retrieve PUBG Mobile Account © MensXP/Akshay Bhalla
Once you’ve signed in with either Facebook or Twitter, the game will then prompt an option to retrieve your old account from PUBG Mobile.
You can then log in from your old account that is associated with Facebook or Twitter. Once logged in, your previous progress such as achievement and inventory items will be restored.
iOS Version If you are an iPhone user, you will have to wait a while longer as the game is currently not available on the App Store.
Krafton said, “We will keep our fans informed on further developments. New updates will be released on our official website and social networks, so please stay tuned for further news!”
Since the App Store does not support a framework for pre-registering for an app, the game has seen a slight delay in its release on the platform.
Having said that, we do expect the iOS port of the game to appear soon on the App Store in the next few weeks.
New Changes Battlegrounds Mobile India has introduced new restrictions and changes to circumvent the criticism it received from the Indian government.
For starters, blood in the game is now green, similar to the Chinese version of PUBG Mobile. Players below 18 years of age will also have to register for the game using a phone number that belongs to their parents or guardian.

With the World Test Championship finals scheduled to kick off from today onwards, the captain of the Indian cricket side Virat Kohli, and New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson were involved in a customary photo-shoot session.
Standing next to the prestigious WTC Mace, which would go to the winning team at the end of the one-off Test at Southampton, the two legends showed off their exclusive Test jerseys which were made solely for this one-off Test.

The Indian kit moved away from the traditional back font and moved towards blue as the colour contrasted with the bright white shirts and trousers with stripes running around the neck in the sweaters.
View this post on Instagram
On the other hand, the Kiwis decided on the more classic look and stuck to the black and white with relatively thinner stripes around the neck.

Unfortunately, when Kohli and Williamson stood next to each other, one couldn't help but notice how faded out the Blackcaps’ kit looked compared to the bright Indian jersey.
Fans were instantly onto it and started trolling them with recommendations to have their jerseys sponsored by Indian detergent brands like Tide, Nirma, and Ujala.

— Ankur Verma (@iankurv) June 17, 2021 However, the brightness of Kohli’s jersey may not have any impact on the outcome of the game if the England rains continue to become a huge hindering factor across five days and the reserved day, according to the weather forecast.
Ahead of match-time on day one, it is reported that the weather is improving by the minute and the chances of seeing some game-time on Friday still exist, although, fans from either side have begun to lose faith and have now started to make peace with the fact that the first-ever WTC finals may end in a draw.
Good news from Southampton: Weather is improving each minute, we will get a game hopefully on Day 1.
— Johns. (@CricCrazyJohns) June 18, 2021
If by some miracle, the Test match does get enough time for the two sides to play high-level cricket and in the end, a winner is declared, they will not only get the WTC mace but will also earn a massive Rs 11.71 crore ($1.6 million) while the losing side or the runners-up will get an additional bonus of Rs 5.85 crore ($8,00,000).
In the case of a draw, both sides will end up splitting the money equally as they will also share the title.

With the World Test Championship final just a few hours away, fans across the globe are eagerly waiting to see India and New Zealand -- two of the best sides in the format in the last couple of years -- take on each other in the marquee clash.
Be it bowling or batting, there is not much separating the two sides, hence most experts believe it will be a cracker of a contest, provided the rain gods take a back seat.
"This is not just good cricket over the last seven, eight months, this is hard work and toil for the last four, five years."

While the outcome of the game will only be known after a hard grind of five days (or six if the match goes to the reserve day), a large number of Indian fans are already confident that Virat Kohli and his men will emerge on top and have already started celebrating on social media, posting rib-tickling memes.
You might be wondering that such a high degree of confidence is hard to find in most players, then how come those watching from the outside are enjoying such a luxury?
While it’s as silly as it sounds, let me tell you that this belief has nothing to do with Team India’s tactics, their playing XI or even the opposition, for that matter.
© Twitter/Blackcaps
The truth is that the Indian fans are oozing with confidence not because of their favourite player making it to the playing XI but because of the unfavourable predictions made by a former India cricketer -- Gautam Gambhir.
"It's difficult to predict the favourite in a one-off match but I feel New Zealand has a slight advantage because they have played two Tests against England and won the series as well,” Gambhir said on an Aaj Tak show.
© Instagram/Gautam Gambhir
In the days gone by, Gambhir has had his fair share of bad luck when it comes to making predictions but Indian fans surely know how to turn a crisis into an opportunity and have started looking for the light at the end of a dark tunnel.
Isn’t this confidence contagious? Well… have a look for yourself!

— Rohith (@Vicky23908066) June 17, 2021Instead of moaning about Gambhir predicting the BlackCaps to be favourites for the crucial clash, the Indian supporters strongly believe that now that he has jinxed the Kiwis, there is no stopping Virat Kohli and his troops from winning the final, hence this celebration.
While we all know that it may all come to bite the Indian fans once the match starts, most supporters are not thinking too far ahead and want to enjoy the present and we can’t blame them.

If you live in India or have at least seen Hindi movies, you have got to be familiar with the fact that the administrative system within the country clearly doesn't always function as it should according to the books.
© Twitter
To put it simply, the officials trying to do good or be honest are often pushed around and transferred from one place to another till the time they get used to the system.
Well, putting our theory to test is an IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh, who has been up in the news for slamming this "system" after being transferred around nine times in a period of 54 months.
© Twitter/News18 Hindi
Lokesh Kumar Jangid, an IAS officer from the 2014 batch, has been posted as SDM Shahdol, deputy secretary urban development, CEO Jila Panchayat Harda, additional collector Guna, additional managing director Rajya Siksha Kendra, additional collector Barwani, before being reverted back as additional managing director Rajya Siksha Kendra, recently.
Clearly frustrated, the 35-year-old IAS officer expressed his helplessness against the system for which he was removed from a closed group of Madhya Pradesh IAS officers Association (MPIASOA) on the Signal app.
The incident came to light after screenshots of Jangid's conversation were leaked online.
On Monday (June 14), he had posted:
"Interestingly while those who mint money from all kinds of mafia, get transferred from field to field. And those with IMPECCABLE INTEGRITY get thrown to Secretariat on transfer”.
Calling the Civil Services Board a joke, Jangid had said that he would reveal more once his hands aren't tied under the rules of conduct.
“Stability of tenure in Madhya Pradesh and the joke of an institution called Civil Services Board. I will come out with a book post-retirement and hopefully bring the facts before everyone to see. Right now, my hands are tied by the bloody conduct rules”.
He also revealed how he was removed for calling a collector 'weak'.
“…of course, who's who in the bureaucracy are mere Nero's Guests these days. The same thing happened in Shahdol when I was SDM. I told Collector that he's a weak Collector, which he bloody was. And I was removed on that ground” Jangid wrote.
© Twitter
Following the leak, the Madhya Pradesh government has served a notice to Jangid over "indiscipline" and has been told to respond within a week for it.
Most of the bureaucrats who have worked with Jangid had pledged that he is one of the honest IAS officers in the state, while also admitting that they have no doubts over his integrity.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said during a live chat at the VivaTech 2021 conference in Paris that Android has more malware than iOS.
Cook also said that “sideloading” mobile apps were not in the “best interests of users.”
Android has the capability to sideload apps which means users do not have to download apps going via the official Google Play Route.
© Reuters
Users can use apps on any Android device either by downloading the APK file from the web or use third-party app stores. This has led to many malware attacks on Android devices from nefarious apps that usually avoid the Google Play Route.
Cook believes that forcing sideloading apps on iOS just like Android would destroy the security and privacy of the iOS platform.
He was asked about the proposed European law, known as Digital Markets Act (DMA) that is looking to prevent big tech companies from monopolising their position in the market.
© Reuters
Cook also pointed out that Android has “47 times more malware” than Apple devices because iOS has been designed in a way where all apps are reviewed via the App Store before going live.
“As I look at the tech regulation that's being discussed, I think there are good parts of it, and then I think there are parts of it that are not in the best interests of the user,” Cook said during the interview.
© Reuters
Cooks said the new DMA law will force Apple to let users side-load apps on the iPhone which will destroy many privacy features and initiatives of the App Store.
The new law focuses on Google, Amazon and Apple to open up its platforms for competitors. The law also wants to build a fair business environment for enterprises and individuals who are currently dependent on big tech companies gatekeeping their services in the market.
If the new law gets enacted, it could act as a basis for countries like India and other large markets to seek openness from online tech giants like Google, Apple and Amazon.
It is worthy to point out that opening up the iOS platform would result in security and malware issues similar to what users face on Android today.
It is highly unlikely Apple will open up its walled garden at the moment however this new law by the European Union might change that.

The past couple of days have been troublesome for the beverage manufacturing giant, Coca-Cola after Cristiano Ronaldo decided to remove Coke bottles out of the camera frame while in a post-game press conference of his UEFA EURO 2020 match.
Not only did the video of the Portuguese captain removing the bottles go viral, as a result, but the company also ended up witnessing a massive $4 billion drop in market value overnight, therefore highlighting the kind of online influence Ronaldo has in this world.
Since Ronaldo asked people to drink water instead of fizzy coke during the press conference last night, the Coca Cola company have lost over 4B$ market capital. Biggest influencer in the world? pic.twitter.com/UQ0Tx2FxeJ
— Sabika N. (@sabikanasir) June 15, 2021
Two days after Ronaldo's insult towards the brand, Team India captain, Virat Kohli found himself in a similar situation when his pre-World Test Championship final press conference had two more Coke bottles placed right in front of him for the obvious purpose of brand visibility.
And it did not take long for the Indian cricket fans to start requesting the Indian skipper to “hatao Coca-Cola” from his press conference desk as well.
Very disappointed that Virat Kohli didn't remove the Coke bottles from his table and say "paani piyo re" during the presser #WTCFinal pic.twitter.com/sqNWlga8ES
— Sohil Nikam (@sohilnikam) June 17, 2021Coke update from the World Test Championship
Williamson and Kohli both leave their bottles in place. That's about as exciting as the pre-match pressers have got.
— Rory Dollard (@thervd) June 17, 2021Kohli is a fake Ronaldo fanboy because he still hasn't moved those coke bottles infront of him.
— ⚔️ ☬ (@ThatGuyJSR) June 17, 2021Completely unrelated but what if tomorrow Kohli comes and moves those coke bottles away #WTC21 #INDvNZ https://t.co/VOuulKBALl
— Kartik O (@KOCricket528) June 16, 2021 But throughout the conference, Kohli did exactly what he was supposed to do, answer the questions asked by the journalists - well, other than that one guy and did not even touch the bottles or any of the other sponsors that had displayed their products next to him.
The conspiracy of the cola bottles turns out to be the greatest highlight of the World Test Championship, so far, as rains have taken over the Ageas Bowl cricket ground and the weather prediction suggests the possibility of showers across all the days decided for the one-off Test match, including the additional reservation day.
Despite the massive build-up, the epic rivalry, the availability of top-most cricketers from both sides, and their presence in one single location, it is the infamous rain that seems to be taking away all the limelight from the game of cricket at the moment and the fans are completely heartbroken.
Dear @ICC , if the WTC final is interrupted by rain and is difficult to find a winner , then plz do some arrangements to held this in a diff venue on a later https://t.co/Y4OAV3PzjZ's an emotion and will be disheartening to see the trophy being shared due to Rain . @BCCI .
— Samiran Krishna Deka (@SamiranKrishna) June 18, 2021Yeah there is no point playing WTC Final in England where there is rain even in their summer
— Ethan 001 (@001Ethan) June 18, 2021Sir sbko pta h ki is time eng me rain hoti rhti h to wtc final eng me krwana kya jaruri tha
— Ram Niwas (@RamNiwas310) June 18, 2021If today goes in rain and reserved day will be used, we all can just sit and watch our anxiety go as high as possible? All that wait for it to start a day later?

Let's The WTC Final Play.#WTCFinal #WTCFinal2021 #INDvsNZ #SouthamptonWeather #rasi0405 @BCCI @BLACKCAPS
— Rahul Singh (@rasi0405) June 18, 2021 If unfortunately, the weather does get the upper hand at the end, the World Test Championship mace and the associated prize money is more likely to be shared between the Men in Blue and the Blackcaps and this will come as a huge disappointment to the viewers, especially after the tough year everyone has gone through both in and out of the world of international cricket.

The concept of Vidya Balan's Sherni might sound simple, but the movie shows a conflict between humans and animals. While some directors have tried their best to show the relation between the two emotionally, Sherni deep dives into the concept. Director Amit Muskar's film is innovative and takes the cake for its storyline.
© Amazon Prime Video
A team is formed to help deal with a prowling tiger who is located somewhere in Madhya Pradesh. Vidya Balan plays the role of a DFO. She has a boss Bijendra Kala who wants the tiger dead and, to do so, takes the help of Pintu Bhaiyya. The movie has a strong script, but it also has a dose of subtle humour which catches attention.
© Amazon Prime Video
Vidya Balan is known for her versatile roles in the industry, and this film again has an unconventional set-up. She has played the role of upright forest officer and battles the stereotypical barriers and lackadaisical attitude of men in her department. The movie title means Tigress, and Vidya has shown her fierceness in the movie, who is ardent to trap the tiger alive. She is shown fighting the superiors and local politicians of the area, who have an uncaring stance and use animals for their agendas. Balan has excelled in it yet again, delving intensely into her character. Without a doubt, she shines out in the movie.
© Amazon Prime Video
Besides Amit Masurkar's brilliant direction, fans on Twitter have also taken to social media and lauded Vidya Balan for her fierce performance. Even Masurkar spoke about Vidya's character and said in an interview, "Vidya Balan was the first actor we shared the story with and she came on board immediately. The forest department has a lot of women in various positions- as forest guards, as officers, as office staff. Vidya is willing to put in the effort required to blend seamlessly in any setting."
© Amazon Prime Video
The movie was released on Prime Video. Even Vidya took to Twitter and wrote, "This one is always going to be special! Here's to all the tigresses... always keep your head and spirit high."
This one is always going to be special! ️Here's to all the tigresses... always keep your head and spirit high.
