    The search for wrestler Sushil Kumar continues to progress after the two-time Olympic medallist decided to run away as an FIR was registered against him in the murder case of international wrestler Sagar Dhankar.
    According to the latest report by Zee News, the police have intensified their efforts to trace the whereabouts of Kumar and revealed that the last location he was in was Bhatinda, Punjab.

    The report also suggests that the athlete is continuously changing his mobile’s sim cards in order to make calls and to go on the internet. The operation is being carried out by the Delhi police with aid from the special cell and the local police of the various places where Kumar was suspected to hide.
    On Thursday, an India Today report revealed the 37-year-old’s first picture since his absconsion in which he can be seen sitting in the non-driver’s seat of a white vehicle while passing through a toll booth in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.
    The Delhi Police announced a reward of Rs 1 Lakh for anyone who was willing to give any information on the whereabouts of the Olympian and a Rs 50,000 reward for knowledge on his associate Ajay Kumar on Monday.

    According to reports, Dhankar was assaulted by Kumar and a bunch of other wrestlers on May 4, a day after which, the young athlete breathed his last.  An FIR was registered against Kumar for abduction and criminal conspiracy followed by a non-bailable warrant issued against him at Delhi’s Rohini court.

    On Wednesday, Kumar’s lawyer, Senior advocate Sidharth Luthra, made a plea to the Delhi judiciary to grant anticipatory bail. In the statement, Luthra said: 
    "It appears that the statement of the victims has already been recorded and alleged recoveries have already been made. No custodial investigation is required as nothing is to be recovered at the instance of the applicant."
    However, the request to get the anticipatory bail was declined.
    “Yes, I must say that the image of Indian wrestling has got hurt badly by this. But we have nothing to do with what wrestlers do away from the mat. We are concerned with their on-mat performance,” WFI Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar had told PTI.

    Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra's latest movie Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar has started streaming on Amazon Prime Video on May 20. 
    The movie follows the story of two completely different people whose lives get entangled. Arjun Kapoor plays the role of Pinkesh Dahiya or Pinky who is a Haryanvi Police office and Parineeti Chopra plays the role of Sandeep Kaur. She portrays the role of an ambitious girl who is from the corporate world and both people are poles apart. However, they are united by their mistrust, suspicion, hatred, and whatnot.
    This suspense drama also promises to keep the viewers glued to their seats as the story moves forward.

    The film is produced, directed, and written by Dibakar Banerjee and also stars Neena Gupta, Raghuvir Yadav, and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar was released in theatres on March 19 and received an average response from critics and the audience.
    However, due to lockdown and Covid restrictions across the country, the film has now released on OTT.
    This is the third time Arjun and Parineeti have been seen together in a film after Ishaqzaade and Namaste England. Also, the film has already got some buzz due to the film being a black comedy according to many, and people are also impressed by the performance of the lead pair in the film.

    It has always been debatable if reality shows are actually real or more of fake setups just to increase their TRPs. Indian Idol has been receiving criticism of late for the content they have been churning out. Now, Indian Idol 1 winner Abhijeet Sawant has opened up on the reality of all the content produced by the makers and has, in fact, lashed out at them for focusing more on the tragic backgrounds of the participants rather than their singing abilities.

    Abhijeet compared Indian Idol to their regional cousins and showed how they focus more on talent rather than dramatic packages. “These days, the makers are more interested in whether the participant can polish shoes or how poor he is, rather than his talent. You should watch regional reality shows where viewers may not know anything about the background of their favourite contestants. Their focus is only on singing, but in Hindi reality shows, contestants' tragic and sad stories are shown. The focus is only on that,” Abhijeet told Aaj Tak. 
    Abhijeet also added that the makers also show fake love stories to add to the dramatic element but he also blamed the public for consuming such content. In a recent interview, the host Aditya Narayan accepted that the love story shown on Indian Idol 12 between Pawandeep Rajan and Arunita Kanjilal was fake. He had said, “We are not denying that it’s fake but the audience enjoys it and so do we. Hum masti karte hai. They are young people and if something does happen between them, they have our wishes, and if not, it’s their lives.” 
    This is the reality that Abhijeet was shedding light on. He also recalled one of the incidents when he was a participant in the show. He said that he once forgot the lyrics of the song he was singing during his stint on the singing reality show. "The judges decided among themselves that I should be given another chance. But I can tell you with confidence that had it happened today, it would have been served to the audience with full dramatic effects of thunder and shock. But the viewers are also responsible. Hindi language public is always hunting for more spice," he said.

    Recently, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) disclosed the annual contracts for the members of the Indian women’s cricket team. They organised the players into three categories A, B, and C with fixed contracts of Rs. 50 Lakh, Rs. 30 Lakh, and Rs. 10 Lakh, respectively.

    Now obviously, when the two sides are compared, the gender pay gap is simply extensive. However, when it comes to industries such as entertainment and sports, the debate becomes a lot more complicated.
    There are certain professions in which the revenue generated depends on the number of eyeballs gathered and therefore many also believe that such a pay gap is justified. The idea is that when the two sides begin to draw equal attention and revenue, the pay gap will approximately close out and end eventually.

    One of the best tennis stars in the world, Rafael Nadal spoke about this topic a couple of years ago and he belongs to a similar school of thought. However, back then, the south-paw was booed out of the building after his comments were viewed as sexist and narcissistic in nature.
    Here’s what Nadal had said when asked about the gender pay gap in the tennis community:
    “It’s a comparison we shouldn’t even make. Female models earn more than male models and nobody says anything. Why? Because they have a larger following. In tennis too, who gathers a larger audience earns more,” he had said in the interview with Io Donna, an Italian magazine.

    He Shihua, a 35-year-old principal shareholder of Zibo Cuju, a second-division football squad, is a Chinese millionaire, who likes to get involved in the sport a bit too much by forcing the franchise coach to play people from his own family on the field.
    His intrusion in the field is spread to such an extent that the man has officially reserved the number 10 jersey - a number often presented to the best player of the roster - for himself, and even enters the match as an official player.

    You’d think that this “footballer” would be extremely talented and there may be a reason why he was so confident about his skills with the ball. However, reports suggest that He’s presence on the field has made little to no difference and that his team has struggled to make an impact even with him on the field.

    To make matters worse for his team, He Shihua has now made it compulsory for his coach to make his son, who weighs approximately 127 kgs and owns jersey number 7, play in the starting Playing XI of the team. However, in the videos, it can be seen clearly that his teammates pass the ball to the 19-year old half-heartedly and struggle to get the ball every time he tries to make a pass.

    With the beginning of the new season, the Zibo Cuju have struggled to win matches and have only managed to put on a single point on the China League One points table. Having played in six matches, the franchise has managed to draw one match, and lose all five.
    They have managed to score just two goals till now thanks to the Portuguese center-forward João Silva. On the other hand, the team has given away 10 goals in the first six matches. As a result, the Zibo Cuju have found themselves at the very bottom of the competition.
    It is believed that if the team does not get better results, He Shihua could make another cameo in order to inspire his team to start winning games.

    Internet Explorer is finally going to meet its demise after 25 long years because nobody really liked to use it in the first place. 
    The company announced this week that it will end support of the browser on June 15th 2022.

    Microsoft’s final nail in the coffin comes after it started to promote other products like the Edge browser and removing features from the ancient internet browser. 

    The company gradually removed features from the explorers and even removed support from its other products like ‘Teams’. Other apps like Microsoft 365 will also no longer work with IE from this year. 
    The Internet Explorer was once the most used web browser, however, its market share fell below 50% due to competition from Google’s Chrome and Mozilla’s Firefox. 
    What’s surprising is that Microsoft finally acknowledged in a press release that IE is slow and no longer practical for or compatible with many modern web tasks. 
    The company also confirmed that IE is far less secure than modern browsers.

    Microsoft is already looking to the future though thanks to its latest browser that is based on Google's open-source Chrome code. The Edge browser has gained more traction in recent years than Internet Explorer did in the past few years. 

    Microsoft usually funded IE with Windows, however, it is unclear at the moment if the company will stop bundling the browser with future Windows PCs and laptops. 
    "We are announcing that the future of Internet Explorer on Windows 10 is in Microsoft Edge," said Sean Lyndersay, Microsoft's program manager for Edge. 
    "Not only is Microsoft Edge a faster, more secure and more modern browsing experience than Internet Explorer, but it is also able to address a key concern: compatibility for older, legacy websites and applications.”

    The only reason why Microsoft has kept Internet Explorer alive for so long is that many businesses still depend on it for compatibility reasons. 

    However, Microsoft Edge now supports an IE mode which will make it easier for corporations to make the transition.

    Recently, Radhika, in an interview, spoke about her role in Parched and mentioned that it came at the time when she needed it. 

    During this time, a video from one of her movies, Clean Shaven got leaked. The reports said that Radhika was seen nude in the clip whereas the actress denied it and said she wasn't in it.

    Radhika essayed the role of a *** worker in the movie, named Lajjo. The movie was made under Ajay Devgn's banner and directed by Leena Yadav. It was also premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

    Talking about her role, she said “I really needed a role like this because when you’re in Bollywood you’re constantly told what to do with your body and I always maintained that I would never do anything to my body or face. When a nude clip of mine leaked, while I was filming Clean Shaven, I was trolled badly, and it did affect me. I couldn’t step out of the house for four days, not because of what the media was saying but because my driver, watchman, and my stylist’s driver recognised me from the images."

    She also said a sane eye could have guessed it wasn't her - "The controversial photographs were bare-skinned selfies, and anyone with a sane eye would have guessed it wasn’t me." 

    She further added, "I don't think there is anything one can do, or one should do, but ignore it. Anything else is a waste of your time. So, when I stripped for Parched, I realised: ‘There’s nothing left for me to hide.”

    She also spoke about how she felt exploited on the sets of Rakta Charitra, a film by Ram Gopal Varma. 

    She said "Having said that I am a big Ram Gopal Varma fan, especially of Rangeela and Satya. I was excited about the opportunity to learn from him on set. And while we, as a team, did have fun, the culture of favouritism and exploitation was prevalent. I was naive at the time so I didn't say much but this episode made me realise the importance of having my time respected. I learned to put my foot down."
    On the work front, Radhika was last seen in Raat Akeli Hai. She is currently with her husband in London due to the lockdown is working on some scripts.

    A district court in Goa today acquitted Tarun Tejpal of all charges in a rape case on May 21. 

    Tarun Tejpal is a former Tehelka editor in chief and was accused of sexually assaulting a junior colleague inside the elevator of a luxury hotel in Goa in 2013. 
    In a statement, Tejpal thanked the court for its impartial trial. He said, “It is with profound respect that I thank this court for its thorough examination of the CCTV footage and other empirical material on record. 
    He said, “the past seven-and-a-half years were traumatic for his family as they "dealt with the catastrophic fallout of false allegations".

    There are some really weird and fun jobs in the world that you wouldn't know about. And when you do get to know, you’d either want to quit or be thankful for your job. These include beer tasters, professional sleeper and pet food tasters. 
    Not many people are aware of these cool/not so cool jobs. As it turns out, a ‘condom tester’ is another high paying job and Rakul Preet Singh is playing one in her next film.

    In a country where there is a lot of stigma attached to ***, even uttering the word 'condom' invites gasps and weird looks. 

    To break the taboo and normalise the conversation around it, Tejas Deoskar, the director of the yet-to-be-named film, has roped in Rakul to play a condom tester and aims to educate the audience about the use and importance of protection with his comedy.

    He told a publication, “Our film is a social family entertainer, which aims at destigmatising the use of condoms and for this one, I always believed Rakul was the best suited for the character. She brings freshness to every role that she portrays and with a sensitive, thought-provoking subject like this, she was our first choice. Rakul was thrilled when she was approached for the film. She heard the narration and immediately agreed to do it.”

    The makers of the film reportedly reached out to Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday for the role but both turned it down as they felt it was a rather ‘bold’ subject. 

    Produced by Ronnie Screwvala's RSVP Movies, the film might be called Chhatriwaali, and will have an OTT release. 
    Talking about the role, Rakul told an entertainment portal, “It's very exciting and I am very thrilled about that film because it's important to sort of highlight some issues in a light-hearted way and that has got me pretty excited. But for now, that will happen towards the end of the year.”

    Although those videos caused a storm among conspiracy theorists and validated a lot of what they had been saying, the statements accompanying the videos did sort of try to tone things down.

    Recently, Obama appeared in an American talk show that’s hosted by James Corden. 

    In the show, he was asked what’s up with all the alien and UFO stuff that keeps popping up. The audience, the former president, the host, almost everyone, tried to sweep this off as a joke, but some of the things that Obama said candidly, are rather startling. 
    Here’s a clip from the segment.

    Obama begins by saying, “When it comes to aliens, there are some things that I just can’t tell you, on air.” Although this was actually covered up in a joke by the host, netizens just latched on to it like anything.

    He did, however, go on to acknowledge, that “we did have a record of a number of video clips and sightings of objects flying in the air whose flight paths and trajectories cannot be explained easily.”  

    In other words, we have video footages of objects flying in the air that defy the laws of physics. This, coming from a former head of state, is huge.

    The rivalry between Greg Chappell and Sourav Ganguly is well documented from back in the mid-2000s when the former Australian captain took the spot as the head coach of the Indian cricket team while Ganguly was the captain.
    Recently, however, the 72-year old decided to dig up the not-so-healthy relationship with Ganguly, who now commands the position of BCCI President. 
    While speaking on the Cricket Life Stories podcast, Chappell recalled what he had to deal with for the two years when he coached the Men in Blue.

    “The two years in India were challenging on every front. The expectations were ridiculous. Some of the issues were around Sourav being captain. He didn’t particularly want to work hard. He didn’t want to improve his cricket. He just wanted to be in the team as captain, so that he could control things,” Chappell said.
    Rumours of Chappell constantly trying to remove Ganguly as the captain and replacing him with someone like Rahul Dravid continued to circulate back then.

    He said, “Dravid was really invested in India becoming the best team in the world. Sadly, not everyone in the team had the same feeling. They would rather concentrate on being in the team. There was some resistance from some of the senior players, because some of them were coming to the end of their careers. When Sourav got dropped from the team, we had a lot of attention from the players, because they realized if he can go, anyone can go.”
    “We had a great 12 months, but then the resistance got too much, Ganguly came back into the team. The message from the players was loud and clear – ‘We don’t want change.’ Even though the board offered me a new contract, I decided that I did not need that kind of stress,” Chappell said.

    There was also a leaked email that Chappell had sent to the Indian cricket board, complaining about the Indian skipper’s physical and mental weaknesses and that Ganguly used to make excuses to get out of difficult situations.
    Other legends who played for the team during the Ganguly-Chappell era have also spoken about the numerous infamous incidents that took place behind the scenes. 
    Some of the most known instances were addressed by Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar, and Harbhajan Singh, all over whom against the controversial Australian coach.
