Umm… Acid on my face? I’m not sure if that’s a good idea.

To tell you the truth, it’s a great idea!
There are a few skincare maxims that can save your skin—never skip the sunscreen, moisturiser is your best friend and a good acid can reverse your skin’s age.
Acid-based products have flooded the market in the past few years. These acids are chemical exfoliators that show results within the first few uses.
You want at least one of these bad boys on your beauty shelf. Based on what each acid does, you’ll be able to choose your skincare hero. You’ll find acids that can brighten, hydrate and even clarify.
    © MensXP
    1. Glycolic AcidGlycolic acid’s smallest molecular structure allows it to penetrate deep into the skin for better exfoliation. By choosing skincare products with glycolic acid you can improve the texture and appearance of your skin while reducing hyperpigmentation, fine lines, uneven skin tone and dark spots.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1561__
    2. Salicylic AcidSalicylic acid reduces the number of pore blockages by exfoliating the skin. It promotes the production of elastin and collagen. Salicylic acid is a BHA and is oil-soluble, which is why it can get deep into the pores and unclog them. It can also calm and clarify the skin, thanks to its anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1562__
    3. Retinoic AcidFrom producing new cells to fading dark spots, retinoic acid addresses a wide variety of skincare concerns. Coming from the vitamin A family, it’s a powerful acid. It increases cell turnover, reduces blemish scar and the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It also smoothens the skin texture and shrinks large pores. But always remember to wear sunscreen with retinoic acid.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1563__
    4. Amino AcidsAmino acids are the hard-working employees of your skin. If you’ve over-exfoliated, are sunburned or want a gentle acid for skincare, this is ideal for you. These acids are naturally present in the skin, acting as the building blocks of peptides and proteins. They help in hydrating, improving the texture and resilience of your skin.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__1060__
    5. Hyaluronic AcidHyaluronic acid is one of the most popular skincare ingredients in the beauty market. Why? Because it’s a humectant that can hold up to 1,000 times its weight in water. It’s lightweight and yet it hydrates and plumps the skin by drawing water into the skin from the atmosphere. It gives your skin a soft, dewy look.
The human body produces hyaluronic acid naturally, but the production declines with age and environmental aggressors. This is why you need to incorporate this ingredient into your skincare routine.
    __ECOMPRODUCT__309__
The BottomlineOther than these 5, you can choose to go for products with lactic acid, ascorbic acid or citric acid in them. Lactic acid is gentler as compared to glycolic acid, which makes it more suitable for sensitive skin.
Citric and ascorbic acids are best known as the greatest anti-agers of nature. They’re anti-inflammatory and protect skin against sun damage.

In what is a truly refreshing example of absolute honesty, Zhang Yiming, the co-founder of ByteDance, which owns TikTok, stepped down as CEO by stating that he lacked the skills of an ideal manager.

The 38-year-old billionaire internet entrepreneur in a letter to his employees said:
"The truth is, I lack some of the skills that make an ideal manager. I'm more interested in analyzing organizational and market principles, and leveraging these theories to further reduce management work, rather than actually managing people."

On Wednesday (May 19), ByteDance announced that Zhang would be stepping down from his position, with co-founder and current head of human resources, Liang Rubo replacing him for the role.

In the memo issued by Zhang, the entrepreneur said that his interests lie more in analyzing organizational and market principles and leveraging these theories to further reduce management work.

"I'm more interested in analyzing organizational and market principles, and leveraging these theories to further reduce management work, rather than actually managing people," said Zhang.

He also said that he was not a very social person and preferred spending his time reading, listening to music, and being online.
"Similarly, I'm not very social, preferring solitary activities like being online, reading, listening to music, and contemplating what may be possible," said Zhang.

The Chinese entrepreneur labelled Liang's role at the company as "invaluable", with the company stating that both Zhang and Liang will work together over the next six months in order to ensure a smooth transition.

On Thursday, an image of two-time Olympic medallist Sushil Kumar made its way on the internet in which he can be seen sitting in the non-driver’s side of a white car, wearing a face mask.
    © India Today/Arvind Ojha
According to an India Today report this image was captured at the Meerut toll plaza in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Delhi Police, this picture was taken on May 6, which is one day after the death of Sagar Rana, a wrestler who succumbed to injuries following a brawl and for whose murder, Kumar is being searched for.

It is also being confirmed that the police are now looking for the white car in order to find out the 37-year old athlete’s secret hideout.
On Monday, the Delhi Police announced a reward of Rs. 1 Lakh for anyone who was willing to give any information on the whereabouts of the Olympian and a Rs, 50,000 reward for knowledge on his associate Ajay Kumar.

According to reports, Rana was assaulted by Kumar and a bunch of other wrestlers on May 4, a day after which, the young athlete breathed his last.  An FIR was registered against Kumar for abduction and criminal conspiracy and on Saturday, a non-bailable warrant was issued against him at Delhi’s Rohini court.
On Wednesday, Kumar’s lawyer, Senior advocate Sidharth Luthra, made a plea to the Delhi judiciary to grant anticipatory bail. In the statement, Luthra said:
"It appears that the statement of the victims has already been recorded and alleged recoveries have already been made. No custodial investigation is required as nothing is to be recovered at the instance of the applicant."

Luthra also added that Sonu, present during the brawl, was a member of Kala Jatheria's gang with various criminal cases against him.
"These people, who I am up against, are criminal-minded people and I will suffer at their hands," he told the court on behalf of Sushil Kumar.
On May 11, the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) had made a statement to the Press Trust of India (PTI) talking about how the allegations and charges against Kumar had damaged the image of the sport in the country.

“Yes, I must say that the image of Indian wrestling has got hurt badly by this. But we have nothing to do with what wrestlers do away from the mat. We are concerned with their on-mat performance,” WFI Assistant Secretary Vinod Tomar told PTI.

Most of us are familiar with the feeling of pure relief as we kickstart our day by scrolling through memes and videos on Instagram while sitting on the toilet seat in the comforts of our homes.
    © Shutterstock
However, while the immense comfort of the routine may make us lose track of space and time, one certainly cannot afford to do that at one's workplace.

Well, just because you can't, doesn't mean you won't, and that is certainly the case with one employee in Australia.
According to reports, a company has complained about one of their employees spending almost a whole day a week in the office toilet.
    © iStock
The company was so frustrated that they resorted to seeking some advice from Reddit to find a solution to the problem.

    The post on Reddit said:
"We have an employee who is VERY good at his job, but as soon as he gets to work he goes to the toilet and spends about 20 minutes there. By the time he's back at his desk and whatnot it's 9:30. Half an hour until he starts.
"Then he goes again anywhere between 2-3 more times during the day. Each for about 20 minutes. The FINAL toilet break is half an hour before he finishes and he basically spends the whole time there.
"Each week he's working for 4 days and on the toilet for 1. We're seriously paying him an extra day to sit and s*** and read his phone."
    © Shutterstock
The employer also went on to explain how they had no intention of firing the employee, as he was a 'good guy' and there were no issues with the quality of his work.

However, they also said that with Australia having 'strong labour laws' it would have been "almost impossible to fire" the employee even if that was the intention.
The post on Reddit received a lot of replies with people even suggesting that the root of the cause may lie in the employee having a medical condition.
"Is he salaried? What do you care if he gets his work done? Entirely possible it's an embarrassing health issue, as well." said one user.
Another user offered a solution that made a lot of sense.
"Either give your employee more work, be satisfied with the work he is completing. Or manage the non-bathroom parts. Create deadlines for projects, check-ins, make them a path."
"I get stressed just thinking about someone counting my bathroom breaks." said the user
Well, while we don't know whether the company will come out with a "relieving policy" or not, it certainly seems like a wise policy to count our own toilet breaks from now on, eh?

India recorded 2,76,110 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours and the total tally of the cases now stands at 25,772,440. With such severity, it’s important to wear double masks whenever you step out of the house. Police have been asked to take care of the situation out on the roads as people might not take the safety protocols seriously.
In a recent case, a woman was beaten up and dragged by some police personnel on a road for not wearing a mask while going out to buy vegetables amid the Covid-19 pandemic in Madhya Pradesh’s Sagar district. The video of the incident has been doing the rounds and it’s disturbing to see these visuals.
    Here’s the video:
    View this post on Instagram
After the video started going viral, people couldn’t stop but bash the police personnel who were mercilessly thrashing her. They even went on to say that police should also take similar actions when people from government authorities flout the rules in campaigns and rallies. They also added this is sheer brutality in the name of following protocols. People also went on to say that she might be wrong but this wasn’t the way to deal with the situation at hand as the police should have fined her but beating her this way isn’t acceptable.

According to police officials, as mentioned in PTI, the woman and her daughter were stopped by police around 11 AM on Monday for not wearing masks. The police tried to take them away in a jeep to an open jail as punishment, but the duo resisted and allegedly hit a policewoman.

Rahli’s sub-divisional officer of police Kamal Singh said, “The video showed only half of the incident. The woman hit a female cop first and the latter had bruises on her face of an injury caused by nails.”

In another bizarre episode of ‘this happens only in India’, a government official from Gujarat has claimed that he is Kalki, the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, and won’t be able to come to office as he is conducting a ‘penance’ to ‘change the global conscience’.

He also said that due to his penance, the country is getting good rains. Rameshchandra Fefar is a superintendent engineer with the Sardar Sarovar Punarvasvat Agency (SSPA), and was recently served with a show-cause notice.

As per the notice, Fefar only attended his Vadodara office for 16 days during the last eight months.

The notice read as, “Such unauthorized absence does not suit a gazetted officer. Work of the agency is getting hampered because of your absence.”
However, we all know what Fefar replied after the notice came.

Rahul Dravid is set to become the head coach of the Indian cricket team for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka during the T20I and ODI series against The Lions in July.
Earlier this month, CricBuzz had reported that Dravid and his coaching staff from the National Cricket Academy might travel in Colombo with the rest of the roster for the three T20Is and three ODIs that are reportedly scheduled to take place between 13th and 27th July.
According to Cricbuzz - There are talks about Rahul Dravid and staffs at NCA will be in the coaching staff for Indian team in the upcoming Sri Lanka tour for 3 ODI and 3 T20.

"The Team India coaching staff will be in the UK and it is best that the young team is guided by Dravid as he has already worked with almost all of the India 'A' boys. The comfort the youngsters share with him will be an added advantage," a BCCI official told ANI on Thursday.
This will be Dravid’s second stint as a member of the coaching staff with regard to the senior men’s team after his brief tenure as a batting consultant with the Men in Blue back in 2014 as they toured England.

However, he has been the head of the coaching staff, who helped the U-19 Team India lift the World Cup trophy back in 2018. Dravid was entrusted with the duty of the head coach of both the U-19 team and the India A team from 2016 to 2019 before he was appointed as the Director of Cricket Operations at Bengaluru’s National Cricket Academy - the primary training and rehabilitation center for our cricketers.
This arrangement has been done by the BCCI to allow two Indian cricket teams to compete at the international level simultaneously.

India has been severely hit by the second wave of the novel Coronavirus and it’s disturbing to see how people are struggling to claim the old power they had over their lives. It’s sad that even the government and health care infrastructure have failed us in providing the much-needed relief. Now, Bollywood celebrities have come forward to help the needy and are doing their best to provide medical supplies.
Just a while ago when Salman Khan came forward to help the frontline workers and chose to distribute refreshments and meals to them, people bashed him as they thought it’s more of a publicity stunt as his movie Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai was all set to hit the screens. Now, Salman’s movie has hit the theatres but he is still continuing to help the people who are struggling with the deadly pandemic.
He took to his Instagram to share that he along with politicians Baba Siddique and Zeeshan Siddique has arranged 500 oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients.
Sharing the picture, Salman wrote, "Our first lot of 500 oxygen concentrators have reached Mumbai. Covid positive patients who need these oxygen concentrators for an emergency situation can call us on 8451869785. Or you can tag/DM me. We will be giving these concentrators for free, pls return them once done using."

Meanwhile, Salman’s latest offering Radhe has become one of the most-watched films on streaming platforms but it also became one of the worst-rated films on IMDb with ratings as low as 1.7.
Along with Salman Khan, the Prabhudeva directorial also stars Disha Patani, Randeep Hooda, and Jackie Shroff in pivotal roles. The film can be viewed on ZEE5 on its pay-per-view service ZEEPlex. Zeeplex is also available on DTH platforms like Dish, D2H, Tata Sky, and Airtel Digital TV.

Apple announced new accessibility features that will be making its way to iPhones, iPads and the Apple Watch very soon. The new features will help differently-abled users use Apple’s devices with gestures and even their eyes.
    Assistive Touch  © Apple
The first feature making its way to the Apple Watch is called ‘Assistive Touch’ where it will help users with upper limb differences. Assistive Touch will allow touches access to the Apple Watch and will make use of the in-built gyroscope, accelerometer, heart rate sensor and machine learning to detect subtle differences in muscle and tendon movement.

Movements like a clench or a pinch will let users control the Apple Watch interface and series of hand gestures will also allow users to navigate the Apple Watch. Users will be able to answer calls, control the cursor and access notifications.
Eye Tracking  The iPadOS will be getting a new upgrade that will allow the tablet to support third-party eye-tracking devices. This will let users control and navigate the iPad with their eyes where it will be used to control the pointer. Other actions will also include actions like clicking.

Apple has also introduced a new SignTime feature which is currently exclusive to the US, UK and France. It will allow users to communicate with Apple Care and Retail representatives via Sign Language. VoiceOver  © Apple
Apple is also introducing new features for VoiceOver where users will be able to explore images in the gallery by using the screen reader feature. Users can now explore more details and navigate photos. For example, Apple says “Users can navigate a photo of a receipt like a table: by row and column, complete with table headers. Kangana Ranaut recently tested Covid negative and she has now shared ‘lessons from the pandemic’. Taking to Instagram, she penned several points as ‘thought of the day’ that many might not get.
She took to Instagram stories and wrote, “Thought of the day might be complex or too evolved for few but some will get it. Lessons from the pandemic 1) No one is insignificant everyone can help but it's important to recognize your place, role and influence in the society 2) Don't beg from poor people if you are rich. 3) if your influence allows arrange for oxygen, beds or medicines for individuals you might save a few."

It further read as, “if you are a prominent personality then don't run after a few, protect and support the one who can save millions if right environment and support given to him..5) When that only power solves more than a billion people's problems of beds and oxygen in less than a week, don't forget to acknowledge your contribution to that outcome however small it may be but remember you invested yourself in it, not many will recognise your kindness, cause in life some do drama and some simple care ... Love Kangana.”

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) recently revealed the annual salaries for the women cricketers of the country. In a pay structure similar to their male counterparts, the female athletes were divided into three categories A, B and C with contracts worth Rs. 50 Lakh, Rs. 30 Lakh and Rs. 10 Lakh per annum, respectively.
According to the details shared by the Indian cricket board, here’s how the segregation looks:

Category C: Rs. 10 LakhMansi Joshi, Arundhati Reddy, Pooja Vastrakar, Harleen Deol, Priya Punia, and Richa Ghosh.
However, since the time the information was shared online, the BCCI has received a lot of flak and negative publicity based on a massive pay gap between the men and women cricketers.

Facts such as how a C Category male cricketer earns double of an A Category female cricketer (Rs. 1 Crore to Rs. 50 Lakh) do not make a very good looking case for the Indian cricket board.
A similar social media outburst took place back in 2020 when the BCCI had revealed the salaries of all their active cricketers and Team India fans had noticed the pay gap. That’s when one of the most prominent members of the women’s team, Smriti Mandhana, had made a rather bold comment which was appreciated all over the country.
    View this post on Instagram
"We need to understand that the revenue which we get is through men's cricket. The day women's cricket starts getting revenue, I will be the first person to say that we need the same thing. But right now, we can't say that," she had told the reporters at the launch of a range of shoes last year in January.
"I don't think any of the teammates are thinking about this gap because the only focus right now is to win matches for India, get the crowd coming in, get the revenue. That is the thing which we are aiming for and if that happens, all other things are going to fall in place," she said.
"And for that, we need to perform. It is unfair on our part to say that we need same pay, it is not right. So I don't think I want to comment on that gap," she added.
And here’s how the public reacted to her opinion:
Somebody pinch me. Such women of substance still exist? I guarantee she has increased her fan following by 1000s by this statement. This is Naritva - earned but never entitled. I wish her all the success.
    — Ashish Yadav (@YadavDrAshish) January 22, 2020When that day comes, you will get. You won't have to ask. Market forces will dictate pay ; unless demand and supply skews it for you.
