Even in the lockdown, weddings with a limited number of attendees are being allowed.
While the permitted number of guests has reduced in most states, owing to the increasing cases of Covid in India, there is no ban on having a wedding in the lockdown.

One guy from Bihar is seriously upset about this, not because he is worried about the social distancing and spread of the infection in these ceremonies but because his girlfriend is getting married, and only the government restriction could stop it.

Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar extended the lockdown in the state and took to Twitter to make this announcement.

He wrote, “The status of the lockdown implemented in Bihar was reviewed today along with associate ministers and officials. The positive effect of the lockdown is visible. Therefore, it has been decided to extend the lockdown in Bihar for the next 10 days i.e. from 16 to 25 May 2021.”
    — Nitish Kumar (@NitishKumar) May 13, 2021
On the tweet, a guy made a very strange and funny request. He asked the CM if he could impose a ban on weddings too since his girlfriend was going to tie the knot on 19th May 2021 with someone else.
He wrote, “Sir, if you could also impose a ban on weddings…then my girlfriend’s wedding scheduled on 19 May would also be postponed. I shall be grateful to you all my life.”
    सर अगर शादी-ब्याह पे भी रोक लगा देते तो मेरी girlfriend की शादी थी 19 मई को वह भी रुक जाती"
    आप का हम जीवन भर आभारी रहेंगे
    — Pankaj Kumar Gupta (@PankajK78249443) May 13, 2021
We have seen a lot of people making bizarre requests on Twitter and some of them are actually listened to and accepted, if you are in luck, that is.
However, this one was a tad bit weird and just got weirder (read more interesting) with every tweet.
Unluckily for him, the CM didn’t respond but a girl named Navya Kumari replied.
She wrote, “When you left me and went to talk to Pooja, I also used to cry a lot, Pankaj. Today I am getting married happily, so please do not do this. But Pankaj, no matter if I get married to someone else, you will forever live in my heart. Please do come to my wedding, I would like you to see me off.”
The tweet is no longer visible because the user probably deleted her account.
To this, Pankaj replied, “who are you didi?” which means she was in fact not his girlfriend, but kudos to the girl for the hilarious response!
Here are some other funny responses in the comments:
    हम तो अपना status लगाया हूं @Navyak01 mdm pic.twitter.com/w2injAuljH
    — Saurabh Singh (@its_saurabh_903) May 18, 2021Sab log bechare ka Maja le rahe hi log
    — Vivek Barnwal 999 (@999Barnwal) May 18, 2021 Other Twitter users sympathised with the guy and consoled him to wait till the CM responds. One even encouraged him to write to Sonu Soon and PM Narendra Modi, because this was a national issue now?
    CM साहब सोये हैं क्या आप कल शादी है और अभी तक कोई action नहीं अगली बार CM बनना है कि नहीं आपको कुछ भी कीजिये गुप्ता जी को इनकी girlfriend मिलनी ही चाहिए।।
    — Ujjwal Kumar Barnwal (@UjjwalKumarBar1) May 18, 2021 Anyway, he did everything he could and tweeted to Sonu Sood next. He was not going to give up.
He wrote, “@SonuSood sir plz help me, My girlfriend is getting married on 19th May plz stop her wedding. I will be forever grateful to you. You are my only hope left”
    @SonuSood sir plz help me....
    मेरी girlfriend की शादी है 19 मई को plz आप रोकवा दीजिए ।
    मैं आप का जीवन भर आभारी रहूँगा
    अब एक आप ही आखरी उमीद बचे है"
    — Pankaj Kumar Gupta (@PankajK78249443) May 17, 2021
One of the users asked in the comments, “So, Pankaj ji, today is 19th May. Did the government take any step to stop the marriage of your girlfriend?”
We are waiting for Pankaj ji to respond because we’d like to know as well!

Say what you will but when westerners suddenly have an epiphany of sorts and start advocating something that has been very common in India for a long time, we cannot help but chuckle.
Well, that’s exactly what has happened with Mayim Bialik.
    © Reuters
People who have watched the hit American sitcom The Big Bang Theory would recognise her as Dr Amy Farrah Fowler, an accomplished neuroscientist, a Nobel laureate and Sheldon Cooper’s wife.

Recently, she put up a post on Facebook, in which she advocated using steel utensils as opposed to plastic and ceramic utensils, mainly because of the chemicals they are laced with.

Saying how important it is for her to keep an eye on what and how she feeds her family, she revealed that she has been off of plastic utensils for years, and is really glad that steel utensils are so easily and readily available in the United States now.

There has been a growing push to ban single-use plastic in most developed and developing countries for environmental reasons. However, of late, certain countries have taken things a step further, and are advocating banning plastic containers and utensils completely from the food chain.

Apart from the obvious environmental benefits of such a practice, the push also comes from the health benefits of eating in metallic utensils, which are much easy to clean and are devoid of harmful chemicals.

Desi Twitter of course picked up her post and started tweeting about how sustainable our practices have always been, and that this is just another instance of an “epiphanic” realisation that has come too late. Others called it a fad.

One great thing about any faith or religion is the strength it provides in desperate and desolate times. The COVID pandemic has been one of those situations, especially for people who have been very closely affected by it.
    © BCCL
However, things are now becoming a little too desperate for some, rising to the level of absurdity.

There have been several reports coming from various parts of India, that now, people have started worshipping “Corona Devi” to pacify and assuage the wrath of the SARS COVID virus.
Only in India, can something like this happen, at a time like this.
    © BCCL
Residents of Coimbatore have now set up a temple just outside the city, “honouring” Goddess Corona Devi, so that it spares them from the deadly virus.

And if local authorities are to be believed, there is a good chance that it may work well for them.
    © BCCL
Back in the early 1900s, during the deadly Spanish Influenza pandemic, the locals of Coimbatore started praying to the Goddess Thandu Mariamman, who is the Goddess Of Rain in their local pantheon.

After the pandemic died down, a temple was erected & consecrated in the land where the pujas were conducted. Today, it is known as the Plague Mariamman Temple.

The Corona Devi Temple was consecrated on Tuesday, and the locals said that they started offering prayer from Wednesday.

They plan to perform a ‘Maha Yagyam,’ or offer prayers daily, for the next 48 days. The Temple also has an idol of “Goddess Corona Devi,” which will be consecrated after the Maha Yagyam.
This isn’t the only instance where people have come together to ‘pray to the Goddess.’
People, across many states in India, have conducted pujas to please “Corona Devi.” These states include Gujarat, Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, & Bengal.

While offering prayers to the virus isn’t exactly a new phenomenon, temples or shrines being made to pacify the virus is somewhat new this year.

This just shows how desperate and helpless people have become in today’s day and age, wherein they are forced to abandon sound reason and science.

Twitterati, sure, had a field day with this, with many claiming that this is nothing but a shameful money-minting scheme in desperate times like these.

Sonu Sood has left no stone unturned in lending a helping hand to those in need amid the COVID-19 global health crisis. He might say that he is no ‘messiah’, but he is no less than a divine figure for those he helped during these testing times. Last year, he helped thousands of migrant workers reach their homes, and now, he is making sure that he helps with the medical supplies.
In an attempt to thank Sonu Sood for his selfless help for the citizens in need, his fans in Srikalahasti, Andhra Pradesh, showered milk on his poster. After seeing the video, we are reminded of the fact how Rajinikanth also holds this position and we have seen videos of his fans pouring milk on his life-size photos.
    Here’s the video:

Well, the actor was humbled by this gesture and took to Twitter to express his gratitude towards his fans.

But it hasn’t gone down well with people on the Internet who are mighty pissed and have raised questions on the amount of milk being wasted on posters. It should have rather been distributed to the poor who might not have this luxury.

We also believe that it’s nothing but a wastage of milk. What do you have to say about it? Let us know in the comments section below.

The actor has spent more than a year providing aid to the needy but he was questioned and trolled mercilessly as people doubted his intentions. Last year, he told SpotboyE in an interview, “I am not really going out of my way to justify my behaviour to people who doubt my intentions. To be negative is in their DNA. It’s not their fault. All these are trolls. They have no spine and they are only seeking attention.”
He is continuing to serve the nation his way.

TV shows may come and go, but FRIENDS is for life! After making us wait for over two decades, the reunion episode of the sitcom was finally announced last year and is going to air on the 27th May 2021 on HBO Max.

The trailer is already here and it brings back so many memories.

Talking about memories and nostalgia, remember when Brad Pitt was asked the one TV couple he shipped and he also picked a duo from Friends? Yeah, that happened!

In 1998, Pitt appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show where she asked him his favourite onscreen couple. Any guesses, who could it be. Hint: they might or might not be on a break!
    © Instagram/Bradpittofflcial
Pitt took some time to answer. He said, “Ahh...favourite TV couple...favourite TV couple...ahh…” and after thinking a little bit, he blurted out, “oh geez, Ross and Rachel!”

So, yeah he was a Roschel shipper way before he got married to Jennifer Aniston who played Rachel Green on the show. The question to ask here is if he thought they were on a break or not?
View this post on InstagramBrad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston reportedly started dating the same year as this interview and married two years later in 2000. They later got divorced in 2005, a year after the show ended.

However, Pitt had appeared as the guest star on the show in 2001 as Will Colbert, Monica and Ross’s friend from high school who hated Rachel because she was mean and popular.

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing Brad Pitt reprising his role in Friends: The Reunion but it will feature the main cast Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer along with a few other characters like Janice and Richard who will on the show.

Who is your favourite couple from the show? Mine’s definitely Joey and his food!
