Even in the lockdown, weddings with a limited number of attendees are being allowed. 

While the permitted number of guests has reduced in most states, owing to the increasing cases of Covid in India, there is no ban on having a wedding in the lockdown.

One guy from Bihar is seriously upset about this, not because he is worried about the social distancing and spread of the infection in these ceremonies but because his girlfriend is getting married, and only the government restriction could stop it.

Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar extended the lockdown in the state and took to Twitter to make this announcement. 

He wrote, “The status of the lockdown implemented in Bihar was reviewed today along with associate ministers and officials. The positive effect of the lockdown is visible. Therefore, it has been decided to extend the lockdown in Bihar for the next 10 days i.e. from 16 to 25 May 2021.”

आज सहयोगी मंत्रीगण एवं पदाधिकारियों के साथ बिहार में लागू लॉकडाउन की स्थिति की समीक्षा की गयी। लॉकडाउन का सकारात्मक प्रभाव दिख रहा है। अतः बिहार में अगले 10 दिनों अर्थात 16 से 25 मई, 2021 तक लॉकडाउन को विस्तारित करने का निर्णय लिया गया है।

On the tweet, a guy made a very strange and funny request. He asked the CM if he could impose a ban on weddings too since his girlfriend was going to tie the knot on 19th May 2021 with someone else.  

He wrote, “Sir, if you could also impose a ban on weddings…then my girlfriend’s wedding scheduled on 19 May would also be postponed. I shall be grateful to you all my life.”

We have seen a lot of people making bizarre requests on Twitter and some of them are actually listened to and accepted, if you are in luck, that is.  

However, this one was a tad bit weird and just got weirder (read more interesting) with every tweet.  

Unluckily for him, the CM didn’t respond but a girl named Navya Kumari replied.  

She wrote, “When you left me and went to talk to Pooja, I also used to cry a lot, Pankaj. Today I am getting married happily, so please do not do this. But Pankaj, no matter if I get married to someone else, you will forever live in my heart. Please do come to my wedding, I would like you to see me off.”  

The tweet is no longer visible because the user probably deleted her account.  

To this, Pankaj replied, “who are you didi?” which means she was in fact not his girlfriend, but kudos to the girl for the hilarious response!

Other Twitter users sympathised with the guy and consoled him to wait till the CM responds. One even encouraged him to write to Sonu Soon and PM Narendra Modi, because this was a national issue now?

Anyway, he did everything he could and tweeted to Sonu Sood next. He was not going to give up.  

He wrote, “@SonuSood sir plz help me, My girlfriend is getting married on 19th May plz stop her wedding. I will be forever grateful to you. You are my only hope left”

One of the users asked in the comments, “So, Pankaj ji, today is 19th May. Did the government take any step to stop the marriage of your girlfriend?”
