In a shameful yet scary incident that exuberated the violation of Covid-19 regulations as well as the law in some of the Indian states, a gang of young men were seen waving guns while attending a birthday party in Madhya Pradesh.

Not only that but the gang of men were also heard chanting pro-criminal slogans in order to glorify a criminal called Rambabu Gadaria, who had been killed by the police back in 2007.

The video also showed around 400 other men joining the maskless men in singing slogans while being gathered outside the house on the ground.

Following the incident, a case was registered by the police against the men for the violation of lockdown, with police officer Kamlesh Kumar saying:

"They gathered during the lockdown. We have filed a complaint and are investigating. Action to be taken accordingly."
With the Madhya Pradesh state recording 4,952 coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours to bring their total infection tally to over  7.52 lakh, the state government had announced "Corona Curfew" in the state till May 31.
However, by the looks of things, things are certainly not going to be better any time soon.

It is often said that "true love knows no boundaries" and a man in Assam has surely lived up to the task of proving that the phrase is not forgotten.

Due to the rising Covid-19 cases in the country, many states have announced strict curbs and lockdowns to keep the number of cases down, restricting people from attending social events.

However, with Dutta's girlfriend having a birthday party in Dhekiajuli town, he decided that he had to be there for her big day, and disguised himself as the Magistrate of Titabor to get past police checkpoints.
According to reports, Dutta rented a car to attend the party and even got a printout reading "District Magistrate" in the front of the car. Not only that, but Dutta also deceived the car driver by promising him to pay him.
"I took him to a birthday party and he told me he will stay there. I was asked to go back and he called me again and I took him to many areas. My overall oil expenses were around Rs 5000," the driver told the Sentinel Assam.
However, his party plans were foiled by the Assam Police who caught him in the middle of the journey and then detained him.
Not only that, according to the police, this was not Dutta's first incident of claiming to be another person.

As India battles the second wave of Covid-19, most states in India are in a state of lockdown again just like last year.
On the brighter side though, this has led to a dip in pollution levels in most cities. Recently, residents of Uttar Pradesh woke up to a beautiful view of the Himalayas, completely snow-capped on Sunday.

    — Ramesh Pandey (@rameshpandeyifs) May 20, 2021 Since there was continuous rainfall for the past couple of days, photographers from Saharanpur, a small place in Uttar Pradesh, could capture the beauty of the mountains. The place enjoyed this breathtaking view once again in a period of two weeks.
These pictures have now gone viral. Captured by Dr Vivek Banerjee, a paediatrician, these pictures started getting noticed after Ramesh Pandey from Indian Forest Services shared them on his handle.
He wrote "The Himalayas are visible again from Saharanpur. After rains, the sky is clear and AQI is around 85,"

While places like Gujarat, Maharashtra and Goa witnessed the Cyclone Tauktae storm, there were heavy rains in north India, including Delhi-NCR and Uttar Pradesh as well.

The shower this time improved the air quality index (AQI) at several places. After the AQI dipped to 85, the residents could see the spectacular sight for the third time in a span of 30 years.

Residents of Jalandhar as well woke up to the beauty of the Dhauladhar mountains in April.
Whereas in May, images of Mt Everest from a small place in Bihar went viral too.

The two leading toothpaste brands Colgate and Patanjali have nothing in common, except the fact that both are household names in India.
While Colgate has established its name in the market, its rival brand Patanjali has managed to create its own customer base.
    © iStock
However, a recent report titled, ‘Toothpaste firm's numbers show India Inc profits won't survive costs, Covid’ published by Business Insider found that the numbers haven't looked good for Colgate-Palmolive Co in the past six years, which also happens to be the tenure of PM Modi’s government in India.

“For the full year, the U.S. multinational’s India unit recorded a little over 7% jump in net sales, but since that came atop a 1.2% increase in the previous 12 months, the two-year average works out to less than 5%,” it said.
    © iStock
The report subtly blames the Modi government and the competitor Patanjali for the plummeting sales of the Indian unit of the American brand.

It says, “This is a company that only once expanded annual revenue by less than 13% in the nine years before 2015. But then came the challenge to its dominance from a yoga guru and his homegrown Ayurveda company, followed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bizarre ban on 86% of cash in 2016, a banking crisis, a brutal economic slowdown, and finally two waves of Covid-19. Colgate hasn’t once managed double-digit growth in the last six years under Modi.”
The report was shared on Twitter from Business Insider’s account and it promptly sparked a meme fest. The users cannot make sense of the fact that a toothpaste brand not being able to generate profits in the last six years could be PM Modi’s fault.
    © Instagram/Narendra Modi
The author of the report cites demonetisation, crumbling economy and the pandemic situation witnessed under the tenure of PM Modi as the reasons for Colgate’s bad sales.

He argues that Indian consumers would prefer spending less, pertaining to the financial crisis and would look for cheaper options like the homegrown brand Patanjali.
While some users found it hilarious and mocked the report, others made memes about Patanjali being a game-changer in a few years.
Take a look at some of the funny memes doing the rounds on Twitter:

Milind Soman may have embraced the greys, but he still remains one of the fittest men in the country, and judging by his fitness level even now, that is one thing that's not going to change anytime soon.
    View this post on Instagram
The supermodel has always been looked up to by millions of men and women across the country, so naturally, when he went ahead and shared his daily diet to the last detail, people got really, really invested, and for good reason.
    View this post on Instagram
Milind has been taking a keen interest in the 'organic' way of life that includes a fair bit of gardening, and has been growing his own vegetables, too. Naturally, it just made sense that his diet will mostly be composed of that.
    View this post on Instagram
Coming back to his diet, he just shared what he typically eats in a day, in great detail, while classifying his daily meals.
"Since a lot of you have been asking about what I eat, here you go! This is the usual, might change depending on where I am and what is available.
Wake up, drink approx 500ml room temp water.
Breakfast - around 10am. Some nuts, one papaya, one melon, any seasonal fruit like mangoes, about four.
Lunch - around 2pm. usually rice and dal khichadi with local and seasonal vegetables, ratio one part dal/rice and 2 parts vegetables. With two teaspoons homemade ghee. Sometimes, if not rice, 6 chapatis with vegetables and dal. Very rarely, like once a month, a small piece of chicken/mutton or an egg.
5pm - sometimes, one cup of black tea, sweetened with jaggery.
Dinner - around 7pm. A plate of vegetables/bhaji. If very hungry, some khichadi. No non vegetarian.
Before sleeping some turmeric in hot water, sweetened with jaggery.
If I eat dessert, it is mostly sweetened with jaggery
I stay away, as far as possible, from over refined, processed and packaged food. No supplements or extra vitamins. Water, as required, never cold. No soft drinks, alcohol once or twice a year, maybe a glass," he wrote.
Take a look at the post here:
    View this post on Instagram
What we found extremely interesting was the absolute absence of refined sugar in his diet, since he mentions multiple times that he uses jaggery as a sweetener. Another curious thing that struck most fans was the relatively low quantity of protein in the diet of someone as fit as him. Let's hope he tells us the secret one of these days!

The overnight success of the web series Scam 1992 has made Pratik Gandhi a household name and everyone who's seen him play Harshad Mehta has only been praising him for his craft. People who have watched only Hindi cinema got to know him and couldn’t help but desire for him to take up more roles. Born and raised in Surat, Pratik’s parents were teachers but he chose the path of acting. He has invested himself in producing Gujarati cinema and has always had high regard for regional cinema.
    View this post on Instagram
The actor indirectly took a dig at Bollywood because he feels that they show Gujarati characters in a certain way and in this way, the filmmakers land up to make the characters look like caricatures. In an interview with India.Com, he said it breaks his heart to see this happening and if he ever gets to a higher position in Bollywood, he would like change this notion.
He said, “I believe that if I have that power right now, or if there's something that I can try, then I would like to keep pushing the boundaries of experiments in regional cinema. I am saying this because regional cinema is has been put into a bracket. If I talk about the Gujarati people, there's a perception that they only end up liking comedy scripts.”
    View this post on Instagram
He added, “I intend to break these stereotypes. There's an audience for everything and this is the same audience that consumes the best of the content from across the world. Why not in their own language? If what you are saying is right, if I have that power, I'll push the boundary to do even bigger experiments here.”
He added that Bollywood has been stereotyping the characters from other regions and he feels that breaking these stereotypes is the requirement of the art.
    View this post on Instagram
“When it comes to talking about Gujaratis, then they have certain words, they have this peculiar tone for the language. Nobody talks like that in urban Gujarat. You come here and you'll see that we are no different. Actually, it breaks my heart to see any ethnicity being stereotyped in films. They make it more caricaturish. So if they have any Punjabi characters, they keep 'hurrah' and 'balle balle' in the background. There's no need for it. I guess breaking these stereotypes is the requirement of the art,” added the actor.
We do agree with the actor as Bollywood has been following the stereotypes when it comes to showing regional characters.

Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead is set in post-apocalyptic Las Vegas that is taken over by zombies. The film features Dave Bautista, Huma Qureshi, Tig Notaro, Ella Purnell and Omari Hardwick, among others in pivotal roles.

The description of the trailer on YouTube reads, “From filmmaker Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Zack Snyder’s Justice League), ARMY OF THE DEAD takes place following a zombie outbreak that has left Las Vegas in ruins and walled off from the rest of the world. When Scott Ward (Dave Bautista), a former zombie war hero who’s now flipping burgers on the outskirts of the town he now calls home, is approached by casino boss Bly Tanaka (Hiroyuki Sanada), it’s with the ultimate proposition: break into the zombie-infested quarantined zone to retrieve $200 million sitting in a vault beneath the strip before the city is nuked by the government in 32 hours. Ward takes on the challenge with little left to lose, assembling a ragtag team of experts for the heist. With a ticking clock, a notoriously impenetrable vault, and a smarter, faster horde of Alpha zombies closing in, only one thing’s for certain in the greatest heist ever attempted: survivors take all.”

For those who have been waiting for the movie, it is now streaming on Netflix, and those who have seen it have been sharing their opinions about the movie.
The first reactions are in. Some people called it an epic movie and some felt the concept was compromised and were disappointed. One of the users even went on to say that he would have walked out of the movie if he had to pay for it to watch in the theatres.

Many people get in line outside a garden in a little village of Krishnapatnam in the Nellore district every day. This is happening as people are gathering outside hoping to get an Ayurvedic remedy that is said to cure COVID-19.

Just to get the Ayurvedic medicine, a large number of people of Corona victims are arriving from all over the state. Many started standing in long queues that continued for Kilometres to take this free coronavirus medicine.
A journalist Aashish from India Today took to Twitter, saying, “This is simple stupidity!! Hundreds gathered to get the ‘miracle’ #COVID19 medicine in #Nellore. Local health officials fear #corona blast due to large gathering of people including those positive. CM #YSJagan has announced a strict lockdown till month end. #AndhraPradesh”

The above visuals are from outside the garden which belongs to an elderly Ayurveda expert known as B. Anandaiah. This video has now gone viral on social media, resulting in a large number of people talking about it.

The medicine given by the Ayurvedic expert has no scientific evidence of curing COVID-19. However, even this hasn’t stopped people from coming in large numbers.
A man named Srinivasulu said, “There is no harm in giving it a shot. Patients are puffing for breath, moving from one hospital to another in the search of an oxygen bed, and many are losing their lives in the process. This medicine could be our only hope.”
Here’s what people on the internet have to say about this-
In our state Strict Lockdown will be like this only .....

    — Neethu (@neethuneetha) May 21, 2021This is the last thing needed with 22000+ cases reported everyday. Matter becomes complicated with administrative failures like these.
    — Visweswara Rao (@VisweswaraRao11) May 21, 2021A big sign of stupidity such kind of gathering and such queues. Must be social distancing maintained 🥲
    — Engineer Faheemuddin (@EngineerFaheem5) May 21, 2021Stupidity is how did the government allow this. When we have leaders who don't wear masks, these things will happen.
    — Sachinist!!! O+ (@NaaTweetNaIstam) May 21, 2021 The Ayurvedic medicine looks like components such as  Giloy (Tinospora codifolio), neem, pepper, ginger, and turmeric was prepared by a large number of workers for corona positive patients.
Mr. Anandaiah, who is distributing it free of cost to the people, is the mastermind behind this. In some cases, the same preparation is given as an immunity booster to people impatiently waiting for their turn to get vaccinated.
