A performer is a performer, in sickness or in health. And some actors have actually proved this by showing utmost dedication to the roles they play.
We have heard stories of actors shooting with injuries, fractures and bad health. Nawazuddin Siddiqui is one of them.
    © Instagram/nawazuddin._siddiqui
However, this isn’t a fluke. He shows an incredible commitment to his role even while he is seriously ill and hospitalised. We are not making this up.

The director of the movie Raman Raghav 2.0 once recalled how Nawaz couldn’t stop chanting the lines from the movie even while on the hospital bed.
    © Instagram/entertnmntworld
“He was on high fever and his wife called me, ‘What have you done to him? He's just talking non-stop, lines from the movie' and I got scared, he was really affected by it. He becomes like that. He likes to live there, he likes to stay there, he actually prefers that world, he escapes into that world,” he added.

The film did quite well at the Box Office and Siddiqui’s performance was lauded by the critics. Safe to say, hard work and dedication paid off.

India has been battling against the second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic which has claimed so many lives in the past month. Recently, a BJP leader from Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut was seen blowing a shankh and chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’ while he performed a havan and spread the smoke around in a neigbourhood.

He also claimed that the smoke will stop the spread of the virus. Now, the video of BJP leader Gopal Sharma has gone viral on the internet.
Gopal Sharma can be seen walking in the Nayi Basti and Shivpuram areas of Meerut with some other people alongside a bicycle cart that had a burning pyre with a huge cloud of smoke coming out of it.
One can also hear ‘Hanuman Chalisa’ in the background on speaker. Sharma also lowers the mask to blow the shankh and his partner chants ‘Jai Shree Ram’.
Gopal Sharma said, “We have mixed ‘hawan’ material with cow dung cakes and ghee of desi cow, stems of the mango tree, camphor, etc. to stop the spread of the Corona, purification of environment, increase the oxygen level in the atmosphere and kill the dangerous virus from the atmosphere.”

Arjun Kapoor and Neena Gupta’s movie Sardar Ka Grandson follows the journey of a US-returned grandson (Arjun) who leaves no stone unturned to fulfill his grandmother's wish. It’s a very different concept wherein the grandmother requests the grandson to take her to her ancestral home in Lahore as she had spent her younger days in the neighbouring country. When Arjun doesn’t get permission to take Sardar to Lahore, he decides to move the ancestral home to Amritsar.

Well, the critics didn’t approve of the film as they found it sloppy and didn’t find the movie worth investing time in but the audiences are of a different viewpoint. They are calling it a family entertainer and are loving the concept of the movie. They are recommending the movie because it’s a film that is light-hearted and is spreading love and positivity in such testing times.
Here’s how people are reacting after watching the movie:

When it comes to fashion and style, Indian cricketer Hardik Pandya is an all arounder. Right from wearing statement accessories to throwing in some zany sneakers, he has evolved into a style maven.

    © Instagram/Hardik Pandya
If you take a look at his Instagram feed, you would find him in silhouettes from luxury brands. Other than that, Pandya is also into exquisite timepieces.

We still haven't been able to get over his Patek Phillippe Nautilus which he flaunted on the beach.
Say what you may, the man certainly knows how to keep us hooked to his style statements.
    © Instagram/Nataša Stanković
Now that we are in lockdown again, Hardik is often seen posting adorable videos and photos with his son.

Even his wife, Natasa Stankovic has time and again posted some amazing pictures. This time, she took it to a whole new level though, and we really liked how the couple kept their look casual yet fashionable.
But what intrigued us about this post was Hardik's outfit and more than that, his sneakers.
    Here's why:
    © Off-White
Hardik knows how to add a spin to any basic outfit. In this picture, he can be seen in Off-White's Out Of Office 'OOO' Sneakers.

These feature 'For Walking' text with an arrow on the side and Off-White logo on the back. Furthermore, it has black lace-up closure.
    © Off-White
As for the price, these sneakers cost almost Rs 34,814. Mind you, this doesn't include the usual customs and import duties.

    © Instagram/Hardik Pandya
As for his look, we are digging the way he has styled it.

Hardik is seen wearing a simple, black T-shirt and has paired it with white shorts here. We also like the long white socks.
Additionally, the watch here is an exquisite Rolex called 'Daytona 116588TBR ‘Eye Of The Tiger’. It's worth almost Rs 1 Crore.
    © Rolex
Mostly, Hardik's watches take the cake, but this time the sneakers easily outclassed the Rolex watch here, mainly because of its Out Of Office message.

I mean, the whole lockdown is about that and not expensive things.
In all, Hardik knows his fashion game and we are certain that in the coming days, he would probably show us some more ways to deck up in our homes.

The beta build of Android 12 is slightly more stable than the developer preview and has more features to check out that were announced last night. If you want to know which features we recommend checking out, here’s a list of the most important changes.

Google calls it the new ‘Material You’ design language and there are quite a few changes Google is planning for Android devices. We will start seeing new Android changes from September onwards, including a redesigned notification shade, customisable quick settings and a privacy dashboard as well. Other optimisations include under-the-hood improvements that will result in better battery life, smoother animations and faster performance.

Android 12 is expected to release for Pixel devices later this year and other OEM models soon after.

The one vegetable that every fitness enthusiast must have in their diet, is the good ol' spinach.
    © iStock
The children who ate spinach without complaining, automatically qualified as 'good' kids back in the day. As Indians, we're lucky to have multiple lip-smacking 'palak' recipes in our daily diet - right from Palak Paneer to Palak Patta Chaat (don't @ me, you know you love it).

    via GIPHY
However, ever thought about the reason behind the palak/spinach frenzy? Why are nutritionists obsessed with those leaves? Let's find out.

    via GIPHY
Here are 7 amazing things that happen to your body if you eat spinach every single day.

    1. Because of the optimal quantity of chlorophyll, carotenoids, and antioxidants in spinach, having it every single day in your diet makes you less likely to get cancer.

    via GIPHY
    2. If you eat spinach every single day, you're making your body more likely to become a muscle machine, as compared to people who don't. Of course, you must adhere to quantified nutrition and resistance training too. One thing that most people don't know, is that scientists from Freie Universität Berlin were so surprised by the results of their study, they’ve called for WADA (the World Anti-Doping Agency) to include ecdysterone – a hormone found in spinach – in the list of prohibited substances for athletes. No wonder Popeye used to have it all the time!

    via GIPHY
    3. Because spinach is loaded with antioxidants and Vitamins E and C, eating it every single day will ensure that you have AMAZING skin.

    via GIPHY
    4. If you're looking forward to losing weight or looking at food that keeps you fuller longer, thereby decreasing those annoying hunger pangs that lead to snack attacks, spinach is the perfect food. It is filling, and is extremely low in calories. The result? You get to keep those rock hard abs and keep love handles at bay.

    via GIPHY
    5. Eating spinach every single day helps you keep your cholesterol low.

    via GIPHY
    6. Spinach is full of fiber, which means no more constipation! The only thing you'll be sitting on the toilet for, for a long time, if you eat spinach every day, would be to scroll through memes.

    via GIPHY
    7. Eating spinach every single day is likely to keep your heart healthy, as well as prevent diabetes.

    via GIPHY
After reading all of the above, anyone would want to load up their weekly grocery cart with spinach, but is there a downside to eating 'Palak' daily? Is there such a thing like 'too much Palak'?

    via GIPHY
Apparently, yes. Even though it's mostly safe to eat as much spinach as you want, there can be a couple of issues if you eat boatloads of it without any break. Here are the two possible downsides to having spinach every single day, and in a huge quantity:

    1. Since spinach is loaded with fiber (which actually is supposed to be a great thing), digesting large quantities of it can lead to issues such as buildup of gas, bloating, cramps, stomach pain etc. Too much of it, and by that we mean a disbalanced amount, can also cause diarrhoea, abdominal pain, and fever.

    via GIPHY
    2. Spinach contains purines and oxalic acid. Not getting deep into the science of it, that means a huge amount of it on a daily basis can lead to non-absorption of nutrients by the body, and can also lead to kidney stones if consumed in extremely large quantities over an extended period of time.

    via GIPHY
Scary? Yes! However, does this mean that you should think twice before eating spinach daily? Please don't! Just make sure you're making it a part of your balanced diet, and you'll see that the advantages are totally worth it! Go team Palak!

Many celebrities in the recent past have dismissed the rumours of their death. Recently, a week ago actor Mukesh Khanna also dismissed the rumours of his death. And now he has shared a message slamming those who spread it on social media.

Taking to Instagram, Mukesh posted a video warning people to refrain from spreading misinformation and also warned them of police action.
    View this post on Instagram
He wrote in his post in Hindi, “Who spread the false news of my death! After seven days of silence in the mourning of my sister, I am breaking my silence today, and I am asking the first question to the person or people who spread the false news of my death on social media. Do you have parents, siblings, and grandparents in your house? If false news about any of them spreads in this way, then your family members and well-wishers who know you will be in anguish. Do you have any idea? Some weak-hearted people can get shocked. Do you have a conscience or not? Is there even a little feeling of sensitivity in you or not? If it were, you would never do such abusive acts. That, too, when we wish for each other to be healthy and have a long life."
    Check out the post here-

He further added, “Before this, you have posted such false news for many actors. What do you get out of this? Some views on your social media account! What a poor thought you guys have. I will expose you people and you will have to bear the brunt of it. I have expressed my thoughts and anguish in this video of mine. Look and do not forward such rumours, without knowing their truth.”

When it comes to playing the game of cricket with passion and leaving everything on the field, not a lot of players come close to the India skipper Virat Kohli’s level. The aggression with which he fields, the excitement he shows after one of his bowlers gets a wicket, the josh remains unparalleled.
These reactions can have polarising effects on the viewers who are either completely in favour of the captain and back him up a hundred percent, or they feel that these are just a bunch of theatrical stunts Kohli pulls in order to grab more and more eyeballs.

For Indian pacer and Kohli’s teammate, Mohammed Shami though, it feels as if he doesn’t enjoy his own achievements more than his leader does!
In a conversation with India TV, Shami spoke at length about Kohli’s animated reactions to anything and everything cricket-related.
Find Justin Langer's comments on Virat Kohli's "over-the-top" c;elebrations quite funny! Virat's "animated celebrations" haven't offended Match Referee, nor has he cheated or used any sandpaper then why are the Aussies casting aspersions on him #IndvsAus
    — Vikrant Gupta (@vikrantgupta73) December 8, 2018
“Fast bowlers are very aggressive, both old and new. But the one player who could probably emulate their aggression is our own captain! Sometimes, when a picture of Virat’s celebration of a wicket goes viral on social media, I funnily ask him, “Was it my wicket or yours?” Shami said.
“He celebrates more than the bowlers! Sometimes he points out that you don’t look too happy with the wicket, so I simply tell him, “You did all the celebration for me! But it is important to have fun on the field. Virat shows aggression, obviously, but as a unit, he has led the team brilliantly so far. In addition, he is a very aggressive batsman too,” added the Indian pace-man.
    View this post on Instagram
Shami would then go on to compare Kohli’s aggressiveness with the cool and mellow nature of the deputy in command, Rohit Sharma.
“Rohit is a different character. He is a cool person, except when he comes to bat!” feels Shami. “But he is a very positive person. Even as a bowler, when I go to him for advice, he always gives positive answers. Rohit always pushes the bowlers to do what their mind tells them to, irrespective of how the batsman is playing or his strong points. I think that is very important for the confidence of a fast bowler.”
    View this post on Instagram
Kohli and Sharma, the two titans of the Men in Blue will be seen in action in England when they face-off Kane Williamson and the New Zealand roster in a one-off World Test Championship match between 18 and 22 June.

In what would be a fitting example of serving the people right up to the very end, Dr. KK Aggarwal, who passed away of Covid-19 on Monday night, can be seen talking about helping people out of the Covid-19 crisis in what was his last video.
    © Twitter
However, while quoting late Indian actor Raj Kapoor's words, the people's doctor said that "the show must go on". "Even I am suffering from COVID, I am having COVID pneumonia which is progressive. But even then remember Raj Kapoor's words 'The show must go on - Picture Abhi Baaki Hai'," said the doctor, who was known for his positive attitude during the Covid-19 crisis.

Dr KK Agrawal In His last video : 'Show must go on' pic.twitter.com/WKgUqr4udI
    — Hemant Rajaura (@hemantrajora_) May 18, 2021
Dr. Aggarwal, who was a very popular figure in the medical world as well as on social media for imparting Covid related information to thousands of people in need, also had other pieces of advice for fellow doctors.
While encouraging doctors to get people out of the Covid-19 crisis, he said, "We represent the collective consciousness of the society. Our job is to shift to jugadu OPD. Gather a hundred patients with similar symptoms and give them a joint consultation for 15 minutes. Time for one-to-one consultation has gone, we have to get people out of this crisis."
Unfortunately, these seem to be the parting words of the doctor who really led by example for people who had been left helpless in the pandemic at a time when the health care system of the country is close to a collapse.

Due to the rise in Covid cases in the country, now there is a growing demand for overseas vaccine tourism in India. Yes, you read that right!

Now, people are going to travel overseas just to get COVID jabs as there is a huge shortage of the same in our country. Currently, Moscow seems to be the destination of choice.
Now, a Delhi-based travel agency has started offering 24-day package tours, priced at Rs 1.3 lakh each, which will take vaccine hopefuls to Moscow for two shots of Sputnik-V with a spot of sightseeing thrown in to pass the 21-day interval between jabs.

An official from the travel agency said, “The first shot is administered the very next day after arrival in Moscow. Foreigners with a minimum seven-day stay in Russia can get vaccinated. They only need to register for vaccination, which we do for them.”

Arjun Kapoor has a very particular sense of style. It’s very relaxed, sporty and casual. When he is not walking the red carpets in his dapper suits and tuxedos, you’d see him strolling in the most comfiest and coolest of outfits.
    © Instagram/arjunkapoor
His fans and loyalists would know that his signature look often features an oversized hoodie or a sweatshirt, a pair of baggy shorts and a cap. And, he styles this uber cool outfit with either sneakers or sliders. There’s no in between.
    © Instagram/arjunkapoor
Recently, Arjun Kapoor stepped out to meet his grandmother Nirmal Kapoor at her house to take her review on his latest film Sardar Ka Grandson which released on Netflix this week.
    © Instagram/arjunkapoor
His outfit for the day out was his classic look--a sweatshirt, shorts and, you guessed it, a cap! This outfit was perfect for a rainy day in Mumbai. He also had clear glasses and a face mask on, abiding by the pandemic rules. However, we couldn't help but notice his velcro sliders that are definitely his go-to footwear.
    © Instagram/filmfare
Arjun Kapoor has admitted to having a strong dislike for flip-flops and has sworn by sliders since forever now. Yes, he has been sporting the slip-ons before they were cool. He probably has hundreds of pairs in his closet including trendy lake chappals from brands such as Palm Angels, Bottega Venetta and more.
    © Instagram/arjunkapoor
However, for this particular look, he went for his go-to black velcro sliders that we have seen him rocking a couple times before too.

They are super comfy and stylish and go with every outfit. Before this, he wore these same sliders with a casual shirt and denims and it worked well with that look too.
    © Instagram/viralbhiyani
These sliders are pretty versatile and can be styled with casual or semi-formal outfits. In the given pandemic situation, these make total sense.

Now that we have officially shoved our work shoes and any sneakers back in the closet are trusting only comfortable footwear. From a quick meet-up with your grandma to a short walk to the grocery store, these chappals are worth the keep.

Arjun Kapoor definitely cannot get enough of them. What do you think?
