  2. The OnePlus 7 Pro was launched in India today and we've been using the smartphone for a while to let you know how the smartphone fares in 2019. OnePlus is one of those unique brands that have been able to dethrone giants like Apple and Samsung in India by offering flagship-level smartphones for a considerably less price. OnePlus makes smartphones using top of the line components and offer a seamless OS experience that can only be matched by Google's Pixel smartphones. The OnePlus 7 Pro has a complete design overhaul when compared to the OnePlus 6/6T with some new features, a brand new display and Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 855 processor. Here's what we think about the OnePlus 7 Pro and everything it has to offer: Design And Display © MensXP The OnePlus 7 Pro is beautifully designed and comes with no notches, almost zero bezels and a very vivid screen. At the back, there's a slight curve for better ergonomics and has a reflective glass that catches light from different angles. The colours are not over the top as other smartphones keeping it interesting and alluring at the same time. The OnePlus 7 Pro comes with a triple camera setup and has the same branding placement as the OnePlus 6T. The OnePlus 7 Pro comes in three colours: Nebula Blue, Almond and Mirror Gray. At the bottom, the smartphone has the USB-C port, a speaker grille and a SIM card slot. OnePlus has removed the headphone jack as well in favour for better water resistance as it was quite expected since it was removed from the OnePlus 6T as well. At the front, the notch has been completely removed and now has QHD+6.67-inch AMOLED display. The display itself is one of the most beautiful panels we've ever seen on a smartphone. This is also the first time OnePlus has included a 90Hz refresh rate panel which results in a smoother experience and better performance on games. Having said that, the battery life of the smartphone does drop considerably when used in the 90Hz mode. Thankfully, OnePlus has given you the option to switch to 60Hz refresh rate in the display settings. © MensXP The display itself is very bright and has a pixel density of 556 ppi. The colour reproduction on the display has been outstanding and gave the Samsung Galaxy S10+ a run for its money. It was a delight to watch TV shows on Netflix that has HDR support as the OnePlus 7 Pro's display is also HDR10+ certified. The blacks look deep and dark, the contrast ratio is on point and has high saturation levels. In order to complement your viewing experience, the OnePlus 7 Pro also comes with dual stereo speakers that were previously missing in the OnePlus 6T. Since there is no fingerprint sensor, the OnePlus 7 Pro also has an in-display fingerprint sensor just like the OnePlus 6T, albeit it works far faster and smoother than before. Since the notch has also been removed, OnePlus 7 Pro now comes with a pop-up selfie camera just like some VIVO and OPPO smartphones. Having said that, it is worthy to point out that the OnePlus 7 Pro is a very heavy phone and cause fatigue if you are used to the company's previous lighter smartphones. There were times when our fingers and palm would simply tire out when using the smartphone due to its weight. If you plan on using a cover, then it is even heavier. However, once you start using the smartphone, your palm and fingers will get used to it over time. Performance OnePlus smartphones are known to have great components under the hood and the OnePlus 7 Pro is no exception. The OnePlus 7 Pro is blazingly fast and it's all thanks to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 processor. The flagship level processor is coupled with 6/8 or 12 GB of RAM and comes with different storage options. We tested the 12GB RAM variant and it exceeded our expectations way too much. We ran a simple Geekbench 4 test and our review unit scored 3509 in the single-core test while it scored a very impressive 11130 score in the multi-core test. That's the fastest Android smartphone we've tested this year and is probably the only device that comes close to the iPhone XS Max's performance. © MensXP While gaming, you can run games like PUBG Mobile on the highest settings and there is no frame rate drop according to our Gamebench test. The smartphone also comes with new Haptic Vibration that amplifies your experience while playing games. The heat management is also up to the mark as the OnePlus 7 Pro now comes with a 10-layer Liquid Cooling system. The OnePlus 7 Pro also has a RAM boost mode which basically means that it will allocate remaining RAM to memory intensive applications such as First Person Shooter games. This means you will be able to load games faster thanks to the new mode in combination with the new UFS 3.0 type of storage. UFS 3.0 is probably the fastest form of storage that basically means it can read and write files at a much faster pace than any other smartphone out there. Overall, the performance of the smartphone was outstanding and it is by far the smoothest Android smartphone we've used till date. This is also partly because of OnePlus' Oxygen OS skin that is bloat-free and comes with new features. Cameras © MensXP In terms of photography, the OnePlus 7 Pro comes with a triple camera setup at the back where the primary sensor is a Sony IMX586 48-MP sensor that has an aperture of f/1.6 and pixel size of up to 1.6 μm. The sensor has both OIS and EIS. The second sensor is an ultra-wide 16 MP, f/2.2, with a 117° field of view. The third is an 8 MP, f/2.4, a telephoto sensor with 3x zoom. Now that you know the camera specifications, we were left quite disappointed with the camera performance on the OnePlus 7 Pro. Don't get us wrong, it can do a fair job of taking pictures but overall the quality of images felt underwhelming. The portrait images were not accurate at blurring the edges of our subject while there was no noticeable difference taking images with NightScape. The smartphone does a decent job of taking good images in good lighting conditions but did not perform as expected in the darker environments. Images would turn out to be very warm and sometimes lack the detail that one looks for in pictures. Some images were also overly saturated even when we tried our best to turn the levels down. Overall, the imaging on the OnePlus 7 Pro needs a lot of work and tweaking at the moment as most images simply look too soft. We hope a future update could fix these issues in the near future. © MensXP The biggest change on the OnePlus 7 Pro is the placement of the selfie camera. Since it is a pop-up selfie camera, it comes out from the top of the smartphone each time you switch modes or when you need to unlock using facial recognition. While testing, the pop-up selfie camera would take less than a second to arise and around the same time to go back down. The selfie camera has a 16 MP, f/2.0 sensor that is more than enough for taking simple selfies. The pop-up camera works just like it does on the Vivo V15 Pro and other smartphones that have a similar feature. Here are some camera samples for your reference: Battery Life The OnePlus 7 Pro comes with a 4,000 mAh battery that performs well if you know what you are doing. For example, if you are using your display with 90Hz refresh rate and at QHD+ resolution, your battery life will fall considerably. You can turn down the refresh rate or the resolution in order to conserve battery life. Having said that, when you have turned down either one of the options, you can expect an average of 5 hours and 30 minutes of screen-on-time with around 20 percent left. If you tweak either the refresh rate or the resolution, expect the screen on time to fall considerably faster. Having said that, we used the OnePlus 7 Pro extensively for navigation, playing memory and GPU intensive games like PUBG Mobile and Asphalt and a lot of internet browsing. The OnePlus 7 Pro also comes with the company's new Warp Charge 30 adapter with basically is the same charger that came with the McLaren edition of the OnePlus 6T. It increases your charging speed by 38% and we saw our smartphone go from 10% to 69% in less than 20 minutes. Software © MensXP When it comes to the software, I would buy a OnePlus smartphone just for Oxygen OS. It is by far the cleanest and most stable skin you find on a smartphone apart from Pixel smartphones. It offers almost a pure Android experience without any bloat or add-ons. This time around OnePlus has added new features such as Zen Mode. It basically lets users turn off almost all features of the smartphone apart from receiving phone calls. It is the company's effort for better smartphone management and digital wellbeing. The feature cuts access to the smartphone for a period of 20 minutes so that you can tackle smartphone addiction in a better manner. It cannot be cancelled once you start Zen Mode and lock all the apps until 20 minutes elapses. You can also use Google's native Digital Wellbeing feature to track your habits and the amount of time you spend on certain applications. The OnePlus 7 Pro also comes with a gaming mode where it mutes notifications and let you toggle custom settings such as disabling automatic brightness. Within the gaming mode, you also get a new Fnatic mode which basically takes these settings to the next level. It basically blocks all notifications apart from low battery notification, alarm and timer. It also fine tunes the processor to give gaming priority and disable the secondary SIM to give priority to the Primary SIM card for better signal strength. You will need to enable the gaming mode first in order to switch on the Fnatic mode. The Final Say There's no other smartphone that can perform as well as this beast, has a crisp display that offers vivid colours and gives great battery performance if you know what you are doing. Having said that, if you love to take pictures, the OnePlus 7 Pro still needs to improve a lot, especially because of the price tag. When you charge almost flagship level prices, the camera performance has to be up there as well in order to justify a recommendation. Having said that, the performance outweighs the camera performance for us as there's no other Android smartphone that can match up to the OnePlus 7 Pro at the moment. If you want a premium smartphone that can last long, perform well while gaming and take decent pictures, the OnePlus 7 pro is for you.
  3. A question that can have hundreds of answers but we still can't be sure if any of them are correct. It's so cruel that no one can for sure know what actually happens unless you die for real and the curiosity is honestly just too hard to deal with. But, we have one concrete answer for the question, all thanks to the purest and most wholesome person ever - Keanu Reeves. Recently, he appeared on 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' and talked about his upcoming movie, 'Bill & Ted Face The Music'. Basically, the movie has the duo trying to write a song to save the entire universe and if they fail, “it's the end of the universe”. To this, Stephen said, “You're facing your own mortality and the mortality of all existence, wow.” Then, that was followed by a casual yet loaded question - “What do you think happens when we die, Keanu Reeves?” Instead of any funny or random answer, Keanu thought hard about it and gave the truest and most profound answer to the question that I've ever seen. He said, “I know that the ones who love us will miss us.” So simple, yet so brilliant, Keanu literally left Stephen Colbert speechless, which is quite a rare thing for a talk-show host. Keanu Reeves gives the right answer to an impossible question. pic.twitter.com/hQAgaaGSEY — laney (@misslaneym) May 11, 2019 It gets even more meaningful when you know how much tragedy he's faced in his life. He lost his best friend when he was very young, then his baby daughter was stillborn and because of that, he also ended up losing the woman he loved. It's not just Stephen who is at a loss of words after this, the video has seen a lot of great reactions ever since it was uploaded. The best, and my personal favourite. HE'S SO WORTHY! Keanu Reeves could easily pick up Mjolnir. — LA (@lancelotaustin) May 12, 2019 True. Ironic because Keanu Reeves is immortal pic.twitter.com/FuFo67GnHO — Jidder Bug (@YatesDotcom) May 12, 2019 Simple. Keanu. https://t.co/k8A4IeUnuD — Kumail Nanjiani (@kumailn) May 12, 2019 So beautiful. Stephen Colbert lost his father and 2 of his brothers in a plane crash when he was 10 years old. In this moment, I really felt like he was thinking of them. — Dana Melton (@DeadChuffed) May 12, 2019 Truly. Wow, that's absolutely perfect - Stephen being absolutely speechless was about the only possible response in that situation. I mean, what on earth do you say to that? Beautiful words from an amazing human being. — Matticious (@Matticious1) May 12, 2019 Yep. Three great things I know about Keanu Reeves - he fought for my friend - the great Carrie-Anne Moss who was unknown at the time - to be his co-star in the Matrix. He divies up his 'extra earnings' on films w/the crew. He's nice as hell. When the time comes - many will miss him. — BLOOP! (@susiemcdonnell) May 12, 2019 The most unselfish person. What do you think happens when we die? Atheist: We turn into specks of dust Theist: We go to Heaven or Hell Keanu Reeves: pic.twitter.com/jXCcLPxSxH — jimiecheng (@jimiecheng) May 13, 2019 Exactly. It's interesting to think how people almost always selfishly argue about what happens to us when we die. It's refreshing to see someone who's first thought is sympathy for those who are left behind. — Kilikikero (@kilikikero) May 11, 2019 Agreed. Keanu reeves is the one and only person who would not be corrupted by omnipotence — scared ass cat (15 days till ð) (@Smuttysquid) May 12, 2019
  4. Yes, you read it right. Before you start speculating or wondering if I have a very narrow approach towards making a tall claim with this self-proclaimed yet logical thought, allow me to explain the aesthetics of this Bran Stark kind of vision my mind is having (including a few other people on the internet who seem to agree). Here's how one can draw the conclusion on the basis of what pivotal roles these main character might play in the remaining two episodes: 1. Arya Stark As per Melissandre's prediction, a pair of green eyes awaits death at the hand of Arya Stark. Now everyone's obviously considering Cersei Lannister for this position, however, if you see, the mighty Khaleesi ALSO has green eyes. What if she indeed becomes the mad queen and is killed by Arya? Also Arya could secretly be working with Sansa and this could be their plan. 2. Jon Snow Okay, the man has cheated death way too many times and he needs to die. He could possibly die while saving Dany from sister Arya and get killed as collateral damage and that will not only be a great twist to the story but serve the role of catharsis in the content cycle. 3. Tyrion He will stay alive to carry on the Lannister legacy as the last remaining heir, maybe? Also if Sansa does get the throne, he could serve as her hand. Also there is an unsaid bond between the two anyway. HBO 4. Jamie and Cersei The guy left the one woman who loved him at Winterfell and is back to save his true love. The poetic justice for his 'karma' would be dying at the hands of Cersei itself, I guess? HBO 5. Yara Greyjoy Now she has to avenge the death of her brother and also take care of Euron. 6. Hound A Cleganebowl is pending, so I guess he gets killed in there. 7. Varys He already wants to dethrone Dany dearest and could secretly be plotting against her with Sansa. Okay, coming to how Sansa fits the bill and where she comes in the puzzle. Now she is a major character in the show and if the story line has not allowed her to kill any major person yet, that means she might hold to a crazy plot twist, right? What if she warned Cersei of Dany's arrival, is in tow with Varys and Arya (who is also not trusting the dragon queen at all) and wanted the dragon and the army to be caught off guard? This doesn't sound garish at all, right? What if when the war is over, she ultimately kills Cersei and in doing so, brings the story full circle with the fact that Ned Stark's daughter kills the evil woman. Now Cersei vs Dany on the throne is an obvious choice, Jon Snow on the throne will be very predictable and boring Arya doesn't want the throne. It leaves me believing the clever and the much respected Sansa Stark rules the throne with Arya serving as her chief of military and Tyrion as the hand.
  5. The OnePlus 7 Pro already sounds like the perfect smartphone ever by the Chinese company as its launch is scheduled for next week. OnePlus has now confirmed that the OnePlus 7 Pro will have an HDR10+ display in addition to the 90Hz refresh rate on the panel. The display on the OnePlus 7 Pro has already been awarded an A+ grade by DisplayMate however, the inclusion of HDR10 takes the smartphone even further. © Twitter Currently, only the Galaxy S10/S10 Plus supports HDR10+ on its screens and the OnePlus 7 Pro will be the second smartphone in India to have support. It is the perfect display for users who love to watch video content on the go. Currently, platforms like Amazon Prime, Netflix and even YouTube have HDR compatible shows which should be supported by the OnePlus 7 Pro. OnePlus clarified that it's not ready to share OTT partnerships as of now. HDR10+ is known to adjust the contrast and the dynamic range on HDR content. OnePlus says, since “it is an open format, it's license and royalty free and therefore easily adoptable by manufacturers and content producers with quality maintained through an HDR10+ certification and logo program.” © Twitter “HDR10+ is the future of not just television displays, but also smartphone displays as well. We hope that our newest device will set a new benchmark for the smartphone industry and open up a new world of visual fluidity for users. We're glad we are leading the ranks in sharing quality technology with the world.” says OnePlus CEO Pete Lau. © Twitter The launch event for the OnePlus 7 series is scheduled to take place on 14th May and will be held in three cities i.e. New York, London and Bangalore and will start at 8:15 PM IST. According to rumours, the OnePlus 7 Pro is going to have a QHD+ 90 Hz AMOLED display and will be relatively cheaper than flagship devices. The OnePlus 7 Pro is rumoured to have a starting price of Rs 49,999 for 6GB + 128GB model. You can read more about pricing leaks here.
  6. As the twelfth season of the Indian Premier League moves to the latter half of the tournament, with Kings XI Punjab at the second to last spot in the league's points table, their captain Ravichandran Ashwin continues to make headlines for all the wrong reasons. Comically enough though, everything that the former Indian all-rounder has done in the 2019 season fits perfectly for him, if Ashwin wants to become a part of the pro-wrestling world, whilst becoming a successful in-ring performer. Created A Big Controversy Around Him 25th March 2019 was supposed to be a casual day for the IPL fans who were less than excited for a match between KXIP and Rajasthan Royals when Ashwin did the unthinkable and 'mankaded' Royals' batsman Jos Buttler after being unable to dismiss him by usual means. What made it worse was the fact that Ashwin publicly announced that he was unapologetic about the deed and that he did nothing wrong. Ravi Ashwin's Mankad garnered widespread condemnation from the cricket world. But there's another key side to the debate. MORE: https://t.co/OHfU7KCorD pic.twitter.com/U35w475JYS — Fox Cricket (@FoxCricket) March 26, 2019 Became The Perfect 'Heel' (Made The Audience Hate Him) In the pro-wrestling world, a 'heel' is a character that makes the audience hate himself just to get a negative reaction out of them. Ashwin's attitude and actions during the 12th season have not been too likable. Disrespecting the honour with which the gentleman's game is commonly played got him a lot of flak from the cricket-crazy fans, fellow cricketers and even commentators. While Harsha Bhogle and Shane Warne had a social media spat about his 'mankading', Buttler's teammate, James Anderson showed his protest by shredding Ashwin's picture online. EXCLUSIVE: @jimmy9 give us his unique take on @josbuttler's controversial run out last week... More rows should be settled like this. Full story on this week's #Tailenders https://t.co/YOQ4PMSwiu pic.twitter.com/hYCPpdSqJm — Greg James (@gregjames) March 31, 2019 Called Himself 'The Best' In The Business Much like some of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the WWE such as Chris Jericho, CM Punk and now even Shane McMahon, Ashwin called himself the best at what he does. “I would like to think that I am right up there and I have been for a long time now. It's my 11th season of the IPL, so I would like to think I have done a fairly good job. I have never shied away from competing with anyone. I am right on top of the pile,” Ashwin said as reported by the Times of India. Got Himself Trolled To Entertain The Fans Finally, the biggest goal of a pro-wrestler is to make the audience have the time of their lives, even if it comes at the cost of making yourself look like a fool. In a match between Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals, Ashwin tried to 'mankad' Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan but 'Gabbar' was too smart for the Chennai-born and stayed inside the crease when Ashwin tried to dismiss. Later, to the delight of the audience, Dhawan even mocked him the next time he came for a run-up. 7. DC is known for the depth and darkness it shows in its movies, and it is never just about good guys fighting the bad guys. It is so much more! It is about the struggles of the superhero, his fight with his inner demons and his struggles to keep at least some of his conscience alive. DC has produced much more than movies, it has produced characters. Characters which make you realise that even superheroes are not invincible. Characters which make you realise that everyone is fighting their own battle, no matter how powerful they are. Characters who don't have the spare time to entertain the audience by doing some silly things. But it all changed with 'Shazam'! 'Shazam' seems like a Marvel movie, more than a DC movie. Totally made for kids, with almost no depth. Good guys fighting bad guys, good guys win, then end. Hell, even Marvel came out of this kid-friendly storyline and gave us 'Infinity War'. Their only movie which actually has some depth. Thanos is the best character that Marvel created, a character with some depth. The way the audience loved him, DC should have set a new bar with the character of 'Shazam'. They should have launched something dark, someone, who has to fight the battles within before he can save/destroy the world. But unfortunately, Shazam came out as just another guy who got lucky. 'Shazam' reminds you of all the Marvel movies before 'Infinity War', and this is not a compliment. It is strictly for children and has zero scope for an adult fan who seeks deep emotions in a DC movie. What makes it worse is that the launch of this movie is almost after DC launched the show 'Titans', one of the best and certainly darkest shows of DC. It's really hard to understand what DC was thinking while making such a light movie. They could have made at least the second half a bit dark. Let's hope they stop this experimentation right here and get back to following their script which shows the inner battles of the character more than his battles with the supervillain.
  8. Every year it's the same old chant – I need to stay fit. I need to hit the gym. But just a few weeks into this 'healthy state of mind', I land up giving up on the weight routines and the circuit trainings, because 'humse na ho paayega'! I don't last more than a month in the gym and that's something I have been consistently trying to change and failing miserably. This year, instead of spending my hard earned money into a kidney's worth of year-long gym memberships, I did quite the opposite. I invested in my workout gear, precisely my running shoes. After months of goading myself into staying fit, I decided to take myself seriously and turn everyday into a run towards a healthy lifestyle. Too much 'gyaan', right? Let me get to the point – I kicked off my new resolve at breakneck speed and hit the park the very next day. As a novice runner, I started a 2 mile run with my gym sneakers, but just a few days into this routine I began to notice the discomfort I was ignoring as a beginner's stride. It's only when a runner friend of mine pointed out my shoes did I realize my biggest running mistake – not investing in the right gear. That's when I bought the recently launched Reebok Forever Floatride Energy running shoes that offer pro-level performance technology. Now, I wasn't expecting to turn into a pro-runner just because I bought some pro-level shoes, but there are a number of small things that helped me grow as a runner and stay fit. For instance, my broad feet (elephant feet, whatever you want to call them) have never felt more comfortable in a pair of sneakers. The Floatride Energy foam also ensured soft cushioning on the sole which led to quick energy returns and a boost in my stride. Of course, besides the comfort of the cool new Reebok kicks, daily practice worked in my favour and helped me move from my daily 2 mile mark to the eventful 5 mile run. I even landed up joining a local running group to keep the morale up and get myself some running buddies to ensure that I stick to it. I'm a month into this routine and I can't believe I never thought of this earlier. Running is fun and the right gear, only makes it so much more easier. The best part about the Reebok Floatride is the durability and the lightweight upper mesh that gives maximum flexibility and comfort. Another bonus, the new Reebok Floatride Energy cost way less than any gym membership and are available for â¹ 9,999 in stores, on shop4reebok.com and on Flipkart, Myntra and jabong. Convinced to join my runners club yet?
  9. If you love to run on the streets or on the road and can do that only in the evenings due to our shitty weather or hectic work schedules, there's a sneaker especially for you. Often when running in the night, you're concerned about safety or enough lighting to get noticed by oncoming traffic. The answer to these concerns came to us way back in the 1980s and Adidas is bringing back the retro-styled sneaker to India. © Adidas The sneakers are ideal for runners who prefer a soft mesh knot and a lightweight ripstop that is essential in a running sneaker. These sneakers are specifically designed for night running as it has a hi0vis reflective body much you get to see on safety jackets on construction workers. It automatically catches the light from oncoming traffic's headlights or streetlights keeping the runner safe from accidents. You can find this reflective detailing on the laces, stripes, and other key strategic points. 10. Netflix, as we all know, has strong local competition in some countries. Specifically, in India, the streaming service is trying unusual experiments such as low-cost mobile only plan to win people. On the same lines, Netflix is now testing Rs. 65 mobile-only weekly subscription plan in the country. That's right, Netflix is now testing a new plan in India, under which the users can now sign up for as low as Rs. 65 per week and access the entire catalogue of films and TV shows on the platform. It is, however, worth pointing out that this particular weekly plan does not offer HD or Ultra HD content. You'll have to shell out more for that. But hey, we're not really complaining, because it's the platform's cheapest plan. © Hindustan Times In an official statement, Netflix said, “We are always looking for ways to make Netflix more enjoyable and accessible. We will be testing different options in select countries where members can, for example, watch Netflix on their mobile device for a lower price and subscribe in shorter increments of time. Not everyone will see these options and we may never roll out these specific plans beyond the tests.” In addition to the Rs. 65 plan, Netflix also has three more weekly plans priced at Rs. 125, Rs. 165, and Rs. 200. Rs. 125 is the weekly version of the basic plan. It adds an extra screen to watch your content on. Alternatively, you can also opt for Rs. 165 or Rs. 200 plan and pay per week for extra screens and stream at better quality. © Unsplash Please note that these weekly plans are not yet live for all the users in the country as it's just an 'experiment' according to Netflix, but we think it's only a matter of time until these weekly plans go official.
  11. Shahid Kapoor is back on the circuit with his next adventure 'Kabir Singh' which is a remake of the original Telugu hit 'Arjun Reddy'. The movie is helmed by ace director Sandeep Vanga who is also the man behind the original movie. The movie follows the story of a man who chooses the path of self-destruction after the woman he loves marries another man. © T Series In the teaser, you get to see a glimpse of Shahid from his performances in 'Kaminey' and 'Udta Punjab'. Clearly, there's no second guessing Shahid's capacity to take on the role of an intense, powerful, young, disturbed and an angry man. This time, once again, he doesn't disappoint us at all. In fact, the one-minute teaser makes us believe that the movie will be a super hit. Kiara Advani plays his love interest and the movie will hit the theatres in June this year. Can't wait for the full trailer now.
  12. The summer season has yet again paved its way into our lives, and while some of us have already begun to crib about the untamable spurt of sweat that it has brought along, most of us are actually preparing to take a dip into the ocean. With Bali and other international beach cities becoming as accessible as Goa (thanks to the gamut of budget travel packages that are available out there!) almost every other Instagram profile is packed with snaps of men posing shirtless on the sand, showing off those Mark Wahlberg abs, and women flaunting their bikini-bodies, looking nothing short of Miranda Kerr vacationing in Malibu! Not that we are trying to make you envious of anyone, but if you too are planning a beach vacation, it is essential to get all prepped up to look effortlessly stylish! So, to help you achieve that class-apart celebrity beach look, we have curated this four-step guide that might even fetch you paparazzi attention! Step 1: Work Your Way Towards Healthier Skin © Official Instagram/Sidharth Malhotra When you are planning a beach vacation, you know that your skin will be exposed for most of the day, and would hence require extra attention and care on your end. Furthermore, since you are going to spend a fairly good amount of time under the sun, it is essential that you ensure your skin is healthy enough to combat the harmful effects of UV rays. A glowing, and healthy skin is what makes a man more appealing, but no matter how much you aspire to have skin as ageless as Anil Kapoor's, you know that achieving it in one day is almost impossible. © Official Instagram/ Ranveer Singhn Since most men loathe spending hours on practicing skincare, here's a simple skin care routine, which won't eat up your precious hours, and yet give you beach-ready skin. 1) Ditch soap, and invest in a good quality face wash which suits your skin type. 2) Exfoliation is the key to healthy and glowing skin, so make sure that you exfoliate it two to three times a week. However, see to it that you don't over-exfoliate, for that may cause skin inflammation. 3) No one likes their skin to be flaky AF, so give it the hydration that it needs by lathering a good layer of moisturizer all-over. 4) An essential skincare practice, that most men aren't even aware of, or often skip, is applying a layer of a good quality pre-shave oil before shaving their mane. You shouldn't make the same mistake because not only does a pre-shave oil hydrate your skin, but it also ensures a smooth and close shave. Step 2: Toil Hard In The Gym © Official Instagram/Varun Dhawan Not that we want to burst your bubble, but it's more likely than not that laziness and that reckless winter binge eating has probably caused your stomach to protrude, causing your abs to bury under layers of fat. So before you decide to hit the beach, it's important that you get all geared up to toil hard at the gym. After all, when it comes to getting that perfect beach body, it goes without saying that no man wants to look any less sexy than John Abraham posing by the ocean in Dostana, sporting that sexy pair of swimming trunks for men . The only way for you to create a similar impression is by refraining from consuming carbs and doubling up your hours at the gym. Step 3: Get That Perfect Beach Attire © Official Instagram/ Karan Singh Grover For a large number of men, finding a trendsetting beach attire can be quite the daunting task. With the right guidance, however, this task can be made a lot easier. Since beaches call for breezy outfits and tropical prints, stocking up on trendy sleeveless t shirts for men and hip printed t shirts for men would make for the perfect choice. Another important component of any beach attire are modish boardshorts, or the coolest swimming trunks that you can wear, with or without a t-shirt/shirt. An important factor that you must keep in mind before investing in these garments is their fabric composition, which should ideally feature a breathable fabric (preferably cotton), so you can surf, swim, or build sand forts (you can NEVER be too old for this!) in complete ease. Step 4: Keep Your Grooming Products Handy © Shutterstock With the above mentioned steps, you have already mastered the beach look. However, it is essential that you do not give up on maintaining that look while you are ON the trip. As such, you ought to be carrying all your grooming essentials with you in a handy travel kit for men. Be it a face wash, moisturiser, or the quintessential sunscreen, to all of your shaving essentials; pre-shave oil, shaving foam, shaving brush, razor - make sure you have everything that you need before you hit the beach.
  13. After the most anticipated wait in cinematic history, 'Avengers: Endgame' is finally around the corner and we can't wait to book our tickets already! Recently John Russo, one of the directors of 'Avengers: Endgame' was in the country, Mumbai to be precise, for the launch of the Marvel anthem composed by A.R Rahman and he revealed some interesting trivia he knows and keeps on Bollywood. © TOI Bollywood has a cult following across the world now. With its stark flamboyancy, colours that can give you a headache and songs that can probably mesmerise you, it's no surprise that Hollywood looks towards the East to draw some parallel inspiration every once a while. Well, Russo does the same. In an interview with a popular publication, Russo revealed how he loved watching Bollywood cinema when he found the time and that his favourite movies were 'Dabangg' and 'Robot'. This was definitely something we didn't expect. The Marvel Cinematic Universe director watching 'Dabangg'? Really? But he revealed that he loved the way the action sequences were shot and that he was a Salman admirer (like we don't have enough around already!) © Shree Ashtavinayak Cine Vision Ltd When Russo was asked where he caught these films, he said over the years he'd been watching a lot of fun stuff in the edit rooms, but these movies were mostly seen when he was on an aeroplane, off to his travels. “For the last seven years, I have been able to watch a lot of stuff other than these movies in the edit room. But when I get into airplanes and I have to travel a lot, I like to catch up on movies, especially global cinema,” he said. “I remember reading about 'Dabangg' so when I got into the plane, it was on there and I watched it and I loved it. I loved the camera work and the tone. It's very entertaining. It reminded me of some of the work we did in Community,” © Twitter He also mentioned how Rajinikanth's 'Robot' influenced 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron' and that's the kind of revelation every Bollywood filmmaker needs to hear! Well, post this revelation from his end, he was asked the most pertinent question ever. Since he'd seen both Rajinikanth and Salman in action, he was asked what characters they would play best from the Avengers and to that he took no time to say Rajinikanth would perfectly fit the bill as Iron Man and Sallu would play the Hulk for sure! I mean wow, he'd probably envisioned the two as Stark and the Hulk when he saw their movies, in all probability. While I agree Rajini would kill it as Tony, Sallu's a little too damaged to fit into any superhero profile, even if it's the Hulk! But Russo knows best I guess. © Twitter While Russo met all his fans in India, he had come alone and not with the 'Endgame' ensemble. However, Chris Hemsworth who plays Thor, Paul Rudd who plays Ant-Man and Josh Brolin who plays Thanos sent rather endearing messages to all their fans in the country and expressed their wish to be here with the director. © Walt Disneys Atudio Motion pictures 'Avengers: Endgame' is out on the 26th of April 2019 and it will be the end of a decade-long journey the Avengers have had and hence, it's the most anticipated film of the year. We're gearing up for the big release already, are you?
  14. You think you are 'too millennial' to use a shaving brush? Well, think again! An old school tool that your father and grandfather used might also be a great tool for you. Why you ask? Well for starters, a shaving brush is a godsend for your skin as it not only exfoliates it, but also removes dead skin cells for good measure. Additionally, it whips air into the shaving cream to make a good lather, which in turn softens your facial scruff and makes it easier for you to shave. In fact, the only reason why you should be shaving without using a shaving brush is if a) You enjoy building a lather and applying it to your face with your bare hands, b) you just don't like getting a close shave, or c) you just don't want to flaunt healthy, glowing skin. 15. One of the biggest dilemmas that Indian men face is, 'what to wear to a wedding'. If it's not a wedding in your family or probably a very close friend's wedding, Sherwanis are invariably OTT, and the only other option is the tried and tested, super boring kurta pyjama. Now, don't get us wrong, a well-fitting pair of smart white kurta pyjama is evergreen, but what about some variation? If you're confused, here's a solid idea. Varun Dhawan just stepped out in an outfit that is super classy, comfortable, easy to wear, and super attractive to the ladies. © Viral Bhayani Isn't Varun's outfit lit? The signature Kunal Rawal sherwani-like outerwear that's open at the front, paired with a longline shirt of the same pastel shade is layering goals, but what gives it the much-needed exclusivity is the pair of super relaxed dhoti pants he's wearing. © Viral Bhayani We're in love with the versatility of the outfit, because it can be worn during the day as well, or during a less formal occasion, just by taking the long jacket off. The longline shirt with the dhoti pants are the best of both worlds, when it comes to style and comfort. The ladies want you to try hard, yes, but not at the cost of your comfort. © Viral Bhayani While one would think of a regular pair of footwear to be worn with this outfit, Varun went ahead and wore a pair of suede cowboy boots. Extra? Yes. But does it work? Absolutely. Women like a man who's not afraid to experiment. © Viral Bhayani © Viral Bhayani Well, all we can say is, you cannot go wrong with an outfit like this at a wedding, and while you're at it, probably click a picture and put it up as your Tinder DP for all the right swipes.
  16. MSI is a brand that's been making gaming laptops for well, over a decade now. From thin-and-light notebooks to beefy workstations, MSI has an arsenal of machines under its belt, so I am sure they have something for anyone who wants to game, be it for an entry-level gamer or an aspiring Esport competitor. Recently, MSI debuted a bunch of gaming notebooks in India which follow the pleasant trend of gaming laptops becoming slimmer, yet powerful at the same time. The MSI GF75 Thin (8RC) is one of them that signifies the change better. It's thin-and-light from the outside but packs some powerful hardware. The MSI GF75 Thin is currently retailing for INR 93,990 in India, and at this price point, you're looking hardware specifications like 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H, 8GB RAM, GTX 1050 GPU, and more. Plus, it sports a massive 17.3-inch FHD display too. Yes, the hardware specs and the thin-and-light architecture sounds like an impressive, but just how good is this laptop? Well, I've been using this machine for quite some time now, so let's jump into my review - Design The MSI GF75 Thin has an admirably simple and sharp design. The laptop is all black and has just a touch of red to give it that “gaming laptop” look. The top, for instance, has a red MSI logo along with the brushed aluminium aesthetics. I personally think the laptop looks great, and I find it better than those tacky and bulky gaming laptops which have glowing lights all over the body. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla The GF75 weighs just 2.2kgs and is just 0.90 inches thick, which makes it both thinner and lighter than a lot of other gaming laptops in the market. Since it has a massive 17.3-inch display and a full-size keyboard, I won't exactly say it's got a small footprint. However, I am coming from using a big and bulky Predator Helios 300 as a daily driver, so I enjoyed carrying this around and using it. Also, MSI says this laptop is 8 per cent smaller, 15 per cent lighter and 16 per cent thinner other 17-inch gaming laptops on the market, so take it as you will. To the touch, the GF75 feels more like plastic than metallic, which MSI says the laptop's top and keyboard deck is made out of. So, I won't necessarily say that his laptop has exceptional build quality, but it's pretty darn good. Also, the keyboard and touchpad have noticeable flex even with moderate pressure. It's not annoyingly flimsy, but definitely, something to make a note of. As for the I/O ports, the GF75 has a three USB Type-A, a single USB Type-C port, an HDMI and an ethernet port. All these are evenly distributed on both sides of the laptop, so you won't have any issues using all of them at the same time. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla Overall, I'd say the GF75 has a good. Yes, it's not as good as MSI's other premium laptops like, say, the MSI PS42, but it isn't exactly cheap either. The build quality didn't detract my experience, I could even use it for my work without attracting too much attention from my colleagues. Keyboard & Touchpad The GF75, as I mentioned earlier, has a full-size keyboard, which is always a good thing to have. It took me a little while getting used to it, but my overall experience has been fairly positive so far. It's been fantastic for typing. The switches, despite being a little shallow, provide good feedback and aren't noisy, unlike my work laptop. Also, the keyboard lighting is not obnoxiously flashy, which is something that I'll always appreciate. As you can see, it lights up in red, although I wish MSI had given an option to adjust its brightness. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla The touchpad uses Windows Precision drivers, and it's pretty accurate and smooth. It is, however, a bit too small for my liking, so I had some trouble using Windows 10's multi-finger navigation gestures. Performance & Battery Life The GF75 variant which I've been using for the past couple of weeks is powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor which is coupled with 16GB RAM and 1TB HDD. The graphics are handled by the Nvidia's GTX 1050 GPU. If you can stretch your budget, then you can also get your hands on the GF75 Thin 8RD variant of the laptop, which has the GTX 1050 Ti and 128GB SSD. It's available for INR 1,04,990 on Flipkart. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla Now coming to the performance, I'll say the MSI managed to hold it's head high. That's not really a surprise when you consider the fact that this laptop is powered by a six-core processor. It powered through both benchmarks and games alike, with the temperatures remaining well under acceptable limits. I've been indulged in a lot of multiplayer games lately, so I was curious to see how GF75 handled some of the newer demanding titles like EA's Apex Legends among other games. Here's a quick look at a chart to give you an idea about the frames that I was able to push in different titles - © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla As you can see, I was comfortable playing some of the newer titles like the Apex Legends, Far Cry New Dawn, etc. at 60fps or above. Yes, you might have to go a little easy on the graphics settings, but that's given how demanding some of these titles are. During my testing, I played all these titles with graphics settings set to low-mid. It's all about tweaking the settings, so I highly recommend playing around with the graphics settings before playing any games. I also ran a couple of benchmarks after playing games as part of my customary testing to see how it performed. I ran 3DMark's Time Spy test and PCMark 10 benchmark. The GF75 managed to score a decent 5,341 & 3,592 in PCMark 10 and 3DMark Time Spy test respectively. Under a heavy load like, say gaming or while running benchmarks, you can hear the fans kick in and push hot air from the sides and the back. I noticed that the palm rest also gets a little warm to touch, but it's not uncomfortably hot. The top portion of the keyboard deck, however, gets pretty hot. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla One thing which I really like about this laptop is the fact that fans don't kick in at random, unlike many other laptops which I've used in the past. This is even when I've kept the fan speed at “Auto” inside MSI's Dragon Centre software, which is essentially a utility which allows you to customize the laptop's performance and keep a tab on the resource utilization in real time. Moving on to battery life, the GF75 lasted me about 4-5 hours while doing productivity tasks (read: not gaming). It's not even close to MSI's claims of 7-hour battery life, but I think it's acceptable for a gaming laptop pushing a six-core CPU and powering a massive 17.3-inch screen. Display & Speakers Speaking of displays, the GF75's 17.3-inch FHD panel is a joy to look at. It has thin bezels, vibrant colours, and excellent viewing angles. I played a lot of games and watched a ton of movies & TV shows while using this laptop, and I had no complaints whatsoever. The hinge is a little too stiff, but you can lift the lid comfortably with just one hand. Also, despite the tiny bezels, the webcam is in the right spot, and I hope other manufacturers take a note from MSI and stop shoving the camera sensor below the screen. There's no Windows Hello support though, so yeah, that's there. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla The speakers, I have to say, aren't as impressive as the rest of the hardware. Even after cranking the volume all the way up and making necessary adjustments with the Nahimic 3 software, the audio output isn't as loud as I like it to be. Don't get me wrong, the GF75's speakers can easily fill a small-sized room, and produce a lot of details, but it lacks bass. So, I found myself reaching out for my headphones at all times while playing games or even while watching movies. The Final Say The MSI GF75 isn't the only gaming laptop that's powered by the 8th Gen Core Intel CPU, but it manages to differentiate itself with its thin-and-light form factor. Of course, it's not as powerful as some other laptops like the MSI GT75, but at this price point, the GF75 Thin is a solid performer. It strikes a perfect balance between your work and gaming life, so I am sure it'll please the casual and budget-conscious gamer in you.
  17. Xiaomi has finally launched its first Android Go Edition smartphone, the Redmi Go in India today. With the new Redmi Go, Xiaomi is targeting the first-time smartphone users in the country, and it's priced at Rs 4,449, which puts it head-to-head with other entry-level devices in the country like the Nokia 1, JioPhone 2, and more. Redmi Go comes packed with a bunch of India-focused features like support for up to 20 Indian languages, Hindi language support for Google Assistant, and more. © Xiaomi As for the specifications, the Redmi Go sports a 5 inch HD screen and it's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor. It also has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB thanks to the microSD card slot. 1GB RAM does sound dated in 2019, but it shouldn't be a matter of concern since the Redmi Go runs Google's Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition), an OS which essentially allows low-end phones to run smoothly despite limited memory and storage capacity. The phone also comes with some pre-installed applications like Gmail Go, Assistant Go, Maps Go, and more. © Xiaomi Other noteworthy specs of the phone include an 8-megapixel rear camera with HDR mode and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Redmi Go does feature dual-SIM support, but sadly there's no dual VoLTE support. Redmi Go will be available to purchase from 22nd March onwards, and you'll be able to pick one up for yourself from Flipkart, mi.com or the Mi Home stores across the country.
  18. Sundays are meant to prepare you for the dreaded Monday blues and a long week ahead. You've probably bathed, eaten, and you're back in bed, browsing Netflix or maybe skipping through YouTube videos. Looking for a little something to tickle your funny bone? Well, if you're a true blue Punjabi movie fan, this list maybe done and dusted for you. If not, then here are a few recommendations for your Sunday binge. Most of these movies are easily available on Netflix and Amazon Prime, so subtitles won't be an issue. 1. Carry On Jatta (Part 1 & 2) This has to be on your list. Trust me, this movie and its sequel never ever disappoint. A man caught in a web of lies, with so many hilarious characters thrown into one frame, this will have you ROFL like never before. 2. Jatt & Juliet (Part 1 & 2) Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa never disappoint in this cop drama series which has part romance and a lot of comedy thrown into it. Also the sound track of the movies is quite good. 3. Vadhaiyan Ji Vadhaiyan This one is a comedy of errors which is nothing short of a laugh riot. If you want to watch a no-brainer, slapstick comedy which leaves you gasping for breath, just watch this and you're sorted. 4. Manje Bistre This one stars the gorgeous Sonam Bajwa and is a comedy movie with a Punjabi wedding in the background. The second part is already in the making. 5. Ambarsariya Another comedy featuring Diljit Dosanjh, which is a comedy of mistaken identity, and some peppy music to go with it. Even if you're not a pro at Punjabi, these movies will lighten up your Sunday like nothing else.
  19. After weeks of teasers, Tesla has finally shown the public its new Model Y crossover vehicle at the Tesla Design Studio in Hawthorne, California. The vehicle is based on the core design of the Model 3 sedan, but with a larger body, and a third row, for seating for up to 7 people. It's technically a crossover that has a tall body sitting on a basic car platform. Elon Musk had previously confirmed that Tesla's baby SUV will share up to 75 percent of its components with the recently-launched Model 3 saloon, including the platform. © Tesla “It has the functionality of an SUV, but it will ride like a sports car,” Musk said. “So this thing will be really tight on corners,” Tesla says it has a drag coefficient of 0.23, making it more streamlined than a Toyota Prius. This, in turn, helps in increasing efficiency. Musk devoted only five minutes of his 34-minute presentation to the new SUV. He spent the rest of the time recounting Tesla's rise and recent history. © Twitter / @sokane1 Most of the Model Y's interior is lifted from Model 3. Features include a minimalist dashboard devoid of physical buttons, a panoramic glass roof, a wireless smartphone charger, and an enormous 15-inch centre-mounted infotainment screen. The popular "Falcon Wing" doors of the Model X have been skipped though, our guess is to keep costs low. 20. Just weeks after the launch of the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU, Nvidia has now introduced its smaller sibling, the GTX 1660. It's been made available in India for the price of Rs. 21,500 and it's the cheapest Turing-based Nvidia GPU that's out right now. © Nvidia Much like the Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti, the new GTX 1660 offers Turing performance, making it comparatively better than the GTX 1060. This new card is using the same TU116 Turing GPU as the 1660 Ti, however, you're looking at 6GB DDR5 memory with a bandwidth of 192GBps, instead of DDR6. The GTX 1660 comes with 1,408 CUDA cores and has a boost clock speed of 1.8GHz. Nvidia also noted that one can easily increase the clock speed with some overclocking. On average, it's 35% faster than the GTX 1060 3GB at 1080p, and compared to the Maxwell-architecture GTX 960, it's 130% faster. In layman terms, the GTX 1660 delivers enough power to play even the modern titles at 1080p with enjoyable frame rates. © Nvidia The Nvidia GTX 1660, just like the GTX 1660 Ti, belongs to the GTX family of GPUs. So you'll be loosing out on features like ray-tracing. But considering the fact that the adaptation of ray-tracing is still in its infancy, we think you can sit out on the higher-end RTX cards for a bit longer if you are strictly on a budget. Specifications aside, the GTX 1660 also brings support for Adaptive Shading technology, which further improves performance in supported titles. You also get some game enhancing techs like Ansel, Freestyle, GameStream, ShadowPlay, and more. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 is now available from a lot of OEMs like Asus, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Inno3D, MSI, Palit and Zotac. The pricing, as mentioned earlier, starts at Rs. 21,500, and it will vary based on partner designs and features. You can learn more about the GPU here.
  21. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, as we all know, is a fairly demanding title. Hence, Bluehole Corporation launched a Lite version of the game earlier this year to make it more accessible. It was available in Beta for selected markets around the globe, but now, it looks like the title could soon be made available in more markets via Steam. In the latest March Dev Letter, the developers noted that the title is being added to Steam soon. The letter says, “PUBG LITE is aiming for PUBG STEAM version.” So, not only will the game be made available in more markets, but it'll be made available through Steam, which is always a good thing as it's more convenient. © PUBG Since the title is essentially a 'Lite' version of the original game, you'll be able to play it even on a moderately powerful PC. Here's a quick look at the minimum requirements: · OS: Window 7, 8, 10 · CPU: Core-i3 clocked at 2.4GHz · RAM: 4GB · GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 · HDD: 4GB As of now, there's no official word on the game's availability on Steam, but you can expect to learn more about it in the next dev letter or maybe even sooner than that. Additionally, the March dev letter also talks about some other changes in the game like new weapons, dynamic gunplay and more. You can read all about it here.
  22. When it comes to gaming and audio, most gamers tend to choose an over-the-head headset that delivers great surround sound. I use one myself. However, I find it extremely difficult to use one when playing on mobile or even my iPad. There are quite a few options out there that you can use but not many come in an earbud form. The HyperX Cloud Earbuds are one of those that wants to challenge its bigger brothers and has crafted earbuds for people who like to game on the go. These earbuds in our initial use provide balanced sound with a profile that makes it ideal for daily use. It comes with a case to store the earbuds so that you don't get them easily tangled and offers one of the best overall experience when it comes to portability. I've been using the earbuds particularly for playing PUBG mobile and even when playing single-player games on the PlayStation 4. It has a solid mic for communication with fellow teammates and can also be used for listening to music. The earbuds come with various fit options so that it can fit snug as a bug for every ear type. Design © HyperX In terms of design, the Cloud Earbuds have a very long wire, approximately four feet and has black rubberised earbuds. The tips are grey in colour, has triangular attachments and is translucent. The earbuds also have something along the lines of 'wings' that basically aides in keeping the earbuds in place within your ear. It's a very popular design that has been seen previously is music oriented earphones like the 1More Triple driver earphones; however, this is the first time we've seen something like this from HyperX. Apart from the basic design, the earbuds look fairy similar to other earbuds you may have seen before. You can however adjust the length of the words thanks to a plastic clip. There's even a button that can be used for various purposes such as making calls, play/pause music or even fire up Google Assistant. The beauty of these earbuds is that it can double up as a regular earphone as well. How Is It For Gaming? © YouTube Even though the HyperX earbuds look fairly simple and regular, the earbuds are compatible with any device that has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Having said that, regular earphones often have the bass boosted or has muddled sound which is not the case with these earbuds. It provides the best sound balance possible with more emphasis on sound effects. When playing PUBG mobile, I could clearly hear my enemy's footsteps that gave me the extra edge. © HyperX The HyperX earbuds can also be used for gaming on consoles such as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. While playing Apex Legends and Red Dead Redemption 2, the sounds were crisp, clear and full of substance. The microphone was also great to use on the PlayStation 4 as friends in my party could hear me clearly without any muffled sounds. Having a goof microphone is essential for online gaming and the HyperX Cloud earbuds have nailed it in this department. Music As we mentioned before, these earbuds puts more emphasis on sound effects and when it comes to music, that statement remains true. We listened to some Weeknd, Drake and George Fitzgerald where the sound was not up to the mark as compared to other earphones. It puts vocals at the front and centre which is alright if you listen to a lot of pop music. However, I would not listen to bass heavy tracks on these earbuds if I were you. The Final Say For Rs 5,990, the HyperX Cloud Earbuds is the perfect investment for mobile gamers. If you want that extra edge when playing PUBG mobile or any other competitive game on your phone, you shouldn't look any further. While it is primarily meant for mobile gaming, you can even use it for single-player games on consoles.
  23. Realme is a fairly new brand, but this hasn't stopped it from giving established brands a headache. It has launched a plethora of phones in a very short span of time and intends to become a top contender in the longer run. The company's target audience is the youth and has always marketed its phone's as an all-rounder. With the launch of Realme 3, the brand will be directly competing with Xiaomi's Redmi Note 7. Within a strict price bracket, they need to offer as much as they can, and it should go well with every type of user. This includes the design, performance, camera, software, and battery life. While we used to forgo minor cost-cutting measures, intense competition has left no space for mistakes. The previously launched Realme U1 also has a P70 processor, so what's new on the Realme 3? A lot. Not only does it come with a cheaper price tag, but it also incorporates a host of improvements in all departments. Ultimately, everyone has just one question - can it become the best budget offering? Design & Display: © MensXP/Shivam Vahia The first thing you'll notice about the phone is its design. The Realme 3 feels exceedingly plastic and basic. It doesn't even feel very solid to hold and this is the primary segment where costs have been cut massively. The Realme U1 too had a plastic construction, but it was well-built and you'd even assume the back is made of glass thanks to the reflection. On the flip side though, a plastic construction means the phone is lighter and very comfortable to hold. We have a Gradient Blue with the upper three-fourths being black and the bottom being starry blue. A slight curve on the back edges also makes it very ergonomic and the phone is built from a utilitarian point of view. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia The SIM card tray has a separate microSD card slot and the front screen is protected by Gorilla Glass. The bottom of the phone has a micro USB port for charging along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, the back has a circular fingerprint scanner that is sufficiently fast and reliable. The front sports a 6.2-inch LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, 1520 x 720 resolution, and Corning Glass 3 for protection. The display is adequately bright but thanks to 720P resolution, sharpness goes for a toss. The colour production feels extreme, it is too saturated sometimes and often very washed out. The viewing angles are great though and it has a high screen-to-body ratio because of the water-drop style notch. Camera: © MensXP/Shivam Vahia The Realme 3 has a 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear camera setup and it has two conclusions to it as well. For the average user, the setup performs just like we expect it to. There's nothing exceptional about it and we don't see any major drawbacks. The camera app has an updated UI thanks to ColorOS 6.0 and also brings in a few new modes like Nightscape and Chrome Boost. Nightscape helps in optimising low-light pictures by using multiple frames and AI-backed processing. The results were much better than we expected because it cuts down on noise and retains sharpness. The primary lens has an f/1.8 aperture and it's good to see even budget phone's taking advantage of it. Chroma Boost mode helps in increasing saturation as well as dynamic range and gets the job done perfectly. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia The portrait mode can detect edges very well and it's supported on both, the front and back cameras. Macros are wonderful and look perfectly saturated. With a landscape background, the blur or bokeh effect does tend to get too aggressive though. As I said, the camera has two conclusions: for the general user, it'll get the job done quickly. For the pro users, Realme has also added support for Google's camera 2 API, meaning you'll soon be able to use the Google Camera app and produce Pixel-like pictures. The front has a 13-megapixel sensor and obviously, there's support for AI-backed beautification. But, you can control every aspect of the edits like nose width, blush, and eye size. In broad daylight, both the cameras score well and there's no major point to crib about. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia Performance & Software: A major selling point of the phone is its octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. It comes in two variants: 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Our unit comes with the latter and you can see a major point of improvement in the overall experience thanks to well-optimised software. The processor is clocked at 2.1Ghz (four cores) and is blazing fast. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia You'll never see any delay in day-to-day usage and RAM management has been relatively improved as well. I was able to use Twitter, Uber, Instagram, Spotify, and one Chrome tab at a given point of time and for a budget phone, this is significantly good. Games are even more enjoyable thanks to a 720P display (a drawback becomes a benefit) and PUBG is playable at medium graphics without any considerable frame drops or stutters. Following the recent trend, it has a dedicated "gaming mode" that enhances performance on-demand and even PUBG has been deeply optimized. You also get the option of deciding between a battery saver mode, normal mode, and aggressive mode (consumes more battery). And lastly, the P70's NPU comes in very handy. With so many AI-backed features, the NPU has become a critical requirement now and it even helps in faster face unlock. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia Coming to the software, it runs on ColorOS 6.0 and is massively improved. To start with, you finally get an app drawer and many major aspects of stock Android have been retained. The notification centre looks neat and the overall running of the UI is smooth. This enables the phone to offer the goodness of pure Android and added benefits of the skin. There is some bloatware, but it's easily removable. The phone has a 4230mAh battery and is more than enough to get you through a day's heavy usage. There is no "fast charging" as such, but the 10W charger can get you to 50 per cent within an hour. The Final Say: © MensXP/Shivam Vahia Yes, Realme has cut corners with the design and display. But these are minor drawbacks that won't actually hamper your day-to-day usage. And with budget phones, the focus is always more on utility. We expected the Realme 3 to be a superior all-rounder, and it hasn't disappointed. Performance is kick-ass, the camera has some unique offerings, software is cleaner, and battery life is perfect. When compared to the competition, it can easily take on Samsung's Galaxy M10 in terms of performance and camera. The Redmi Note 7 has a better design, subjective software, and a slightly better processor. If you are on a tight budget, the 3GB version makes sense to go with. And we're glad Realme is directly taking on Xiaomi, after all, competition is healthy for the end user and provides more options to choose from!
  24. If there's one thing well-dressed men are particular about, it's their ties. Any man who wishes to maintain a gentlemen's lifestyle wouldn't dare to wear a pre-done tie. They exist, yes. But a man needs to set himself apart from the rest by learning to tie his own bow-tie. Every man's rite of passage comes when he moves into adulthood, and the times that separate the men from the boys are black tie events. Learning this gentlemanly skill will improve your style game by 10x and help you rock a tuxedo like never before. Follow this step-by-step guide to tie the perfect bow-tie that'll make you look dapper AF: © MensXP Step 1: Pull up your collar and lay the bow tie around your neck. One side should hang 4-5 inches lower than the other. Then cross the longer end over the shorter end. Observe the reference images for guidance. Step 2: Create a half knot just like you do when tying your shoelaces. Easy peasy. Step 3: Keep a finger on the half knot to keep it tight. Then fold the shorter end of the bow tie in half. It should start to look like a bow tie. © MensXP Step 4: Take the longer end of the bow tie and pull it over the half-folded bow tie. Step 5: Now fold half of the unfolded part of the bow tie. Step 6: Just like you do when tying your shoes, pull the bow tie through the loop at the back of the bow. Do so by pushing and pulling along the fold. © MensXP Step 7: Pull only halfway through. Step 8: Pull on both sides of the bow and pull tight. As a little trick, put your index fingers through each of the loops and pull outwards. Step 9: Tug and pull to make sure the bow tie sits nice and tight. Then centre it in between your collar symmetrically. © MensXP Refer to the entire process step-by-step as illustrated above and you're all set. Voila! Now you've managed to tie your bow-tie from scratch. Not so difficult, was it?
  25. HMD Global, the Finnish company that currently sells Nokia brand smartphones has launched a brand new device for photography enthusiasts. It's called the Nokia 9 PureView and has an array of 5 rear cameras and Nokia claims it is the next step in computational photography. © HMD Global The Nokia 9 PureView was announced ahead of MWC alongside other budget smartphones such as the Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 1 Plus and a feature phone called the Nokia 210. The Nokia 9 PureView uses all five sensors at the same time to combine a number of images into one. MD Global claims that each lens shoots simultaneously in order to capture the perfect saturation, brightness and details. All five sensors on the Nokia PureView have 12MP sensors where three are monochrome sensors and the other two are RGB sensors with PDAF focus. The Nokia 9 PureView takes images in RAW by default and can be changed to different formats according to a user's preference. The camera setup was developed in collaboration with Light, a camera company known for making portable cameras with multiple lenses. The Nokia 9 PureView's comer setup is very reminiscent of the Light L 16 camera but with fewer lenses. All five camera lens on the Nokia 9 PureView is certified by Zeiss. Even though the Nokia 9 PureView has a Penta-camera setup, it does not have optical image stabilisation or OIS. Nokia is also partnering with Adobe for the Nokia 9. Lightroom will come preinstalled on the device and will have specific presets tuned to the lenses on the Nokia 9 PureView. © Reuters In terms of components, the Nokia 9 PureView is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which is a bit outdated now that Snapdragon 855 is available. The Nokia 9 PureView has a 5.99-inch 2K pOLED display with noticeable top and bottom bezels. The chipset is complemented by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which may not be enough to store RAW images. The Nokia 9 PureView is probably the most expensive device by HMD Global yet and will cost $699 (roughly Rs 49,674). Nokia 9 PureView is expected to launch in India soon and we will know the India pricing details when the smartphone gets launched.
