  1. MSI is a brand that's been making gaming laptops for well, over a decade now. From thin-and-light notebooks to beefy workstations, MSI has an arsenal of machines under its belt, so I am sure they have something for anyone who wants to game, be it for an entry-level gamer or an aspiring Esport competitor. Recently, MSI debuted a bunch of gaming notebooks in India which follow the pleasant trend of gaming laptops becoming slimmer, yet powerful at the same time. The MSI GF75 Thin (8RC) is one of them that signifies the change better. It's thin-and-light from the outside but packs some powerful hardware. The MSI GF75 Thin is currently retailing for INR 93,990 in India, and at this price point, you're looking hardware specifications like 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H, 8GB RAM, GTX 1050 GPU, and more. Plus, it sports a massive 17.3-inch FHD display too. Yes, the hardware specs and the thin-and-light architecture sounds like an impressive, but just how good is this laptop? Well, I've been using this machine for quite some time now, so let's jump into my review - Design The MSI GF75 Thin has an admirably simple and sharp design. The laptop is all black and has just a touch of red to give it that “gaming laptop” look. The top, for instance, has a red MSI logo along with the brushed aluminium aesthetics. I personally think the laptop looks great, and I find it better than those tacky and bulky gaming laptops which have glowing lights all over the body. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla The GF75 weighs just 2.2kgs and is just 0.90 inches thick, which makes it both thinner and lighter than a lot of other gaming laptops in the market. Since it has a massive 17.3-inch display and a full-size keyboard, I won't exactly say it's got a small footprint. However, I am coming from using a big and bulky Predator Helios 300 as a daily driver, so I enjoyed carrying this around and using it. Also, MSI says this laptop is 8 per cent smaller, 15 per cent lighter and 16 per cent thinner other 17-inch gaming laptops on the market, so take it as you will. To the touch, the GF75 feels more like plastic than metallic, which MSI says the laptop's top and keyboard deck is made out of. So, I won't necessarily say that his laptop has exceptional build quality, but it's pretty darn good. Also, the keyboard and touchpad have noticeable flex even with moderate pressure. It's not annoyingly flimsy, but definitely, something to make a note of. As for the I/O ports, the GF75 has a three USB Type-A, a single USB Type-C port, an HDMI and an ethernet port. All these are evenly distributed on both sides of the laptop, so you won't have any issues using all of them at the same time. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla Overall, I'd say the GF75 has a good. Yes, it's not as good as MSI's other premium laptops like, say, the MSI PS42, but it isn't exactly cheap either. The build quality didn't detract my experience, I could even use it for my work without attracting too much attention from my colleagues. Keyboard & Touchpad The GF75, as I mentioned earlier, has a full-size keyboard, which is always a good thing to have. It took me a little while getting used to it, but my overall experience has been fairly positive so far. It's been fantastic for typing. The switches, despite being a little shallow, provide good feedback and aren't noisy, unlike my work laptop. Also, the keyboard lighting is not obnoxiously flashy, which is something that I'll always appreciate. As you can see, it lights up in red, although I wish MSI had given an option to adjust its brightness. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla The touchpad uses Windows Precision drivers, and it's pretty accurate and smooth. It is, however, a bit too small for my liking, so I had some trouble using Windows 10's multi-finger navigation gestures. Performance & Battery Life The GF75 variant which I've been using for the past couple of weeks is powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i7-8750H processor which is coupled with 16GB RAM and 1TB HDD. The graphics are handled by the Nvidia's GTX 1050 GPU. If you can stretch your budget, then you can also get your hands on the GF75 Thin 8RD variant of the laptop, which has the GTX 1050 Ti and 128GB SSD. It's available for INR 1,04,990 on Flipkart. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla Now coming to the performance, I'll say the MSI managed to hold it's head high. That's not really a surprise when you consider the fact that this laptop is powered by a six-core processor. It powered through both benchmarks and games alike, with the temperatures remaining well under acceptable limits. I've been indulged in a lot of multiplayer games lately, so I was curious to see how GF75 handled some of the newer demanding titles like EA's Apex Legends among other games. Here's a quick look at a chart to give you an idea about the frames that I was able to push in different titles - © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla As you can see, I was comfortable playing some of the newer titles like the Apex Legends, Far Cry New Dawn, etc. at 60fps or above. Yes, you might have to go a little easy on the graphics settings, but that's given how demanding some of these titles are. During my testing, I played all these titles with graphics settings set to low-mid. It's all about tweaking the settings, so I highly recommend playing around with the graphics settings before playing any games. I also ran a couple of benchmarks after playing games as part of my customary testing to see how it performed. I ran 3DMark's Time Spy test and PCMark 10 benchmark. The GF75 managed to score a decent 5,341 & 3,592 in PCMark 10 and 3DMark Time Spy test respectively. Under a heavy load like, say gaming or while running benchmarks, you can hear the fans kick in and push hot air from the sides and the back. I noticed that the palm rest also gets a little warm to touch, but it's not uncomfortably hot. The top portion of the keyboard deck, however, gets pretty hot. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla One thing which I really like about this laptop is the fact that fans don't kick in at random, unlike many other laptops which I've used in the past. This is even when I've kept the fan speed at “Auto” inside MSI's Dragon Centre software, which is essentially a utility which allows you to customize the laptop's performance and keep a tab on the resource utilization in real time. Moving on to battery life, the GF75 lasted me about 4-5 hours while doing productivity tasks (read: not gaming). It's not even close to MSI's claims of 7-hour battery life, but I think it's acceptable for a gaming laptop pushing a six-core CPU and powering a massive 17.3-inch screen. Display & Speakers Speaking of displays, the GF75's 17.3-inch FHD panel is a joy to look at. It has thin bezels, vibrant colours, and excellent viewing angles. I played a lot of games and watched a ton of movies & TV shows while using this laptop, and I had no complaints whatsoever. The hinge is a little too stiff, but you can lift the lid comfortably with just one hand. Also, despite the tiny bezels, the webcam is in the right spot, and I hope other manufacturers take a note from MSI and stop shoving the camera sensor below the screen. There's no Windows Hello support though, so yeah, that's there. © MensXP / Akshay Bhalla The speakers, I have to say, aren't as impressive as the rest of the hardware. Even after cranking the volume all the way up and making necessary adjustments with the Nahimic 3 software, the audio output isn't as loud as I like it to be. Don't get me wrong, the GF75's speakers can easily fill a small-sized room, and produce a lot of details, but it lacks bass. So, I found myself reaching out for my headphones at all times while playing games or even while watching movies. The Final Say The MSI GF75 isn't the only gaming laptop that's powered by the 8th Gen Core Intel CPU, but it manages to differentiate itself with its thin-and-light form factor. Of course, it's not as powerful as some other laptops like the MSI GT75, but at this price point, the GF75 Thin is a solid performer. It strikes a perfect balance between your work and gaming life, so I am sure it'll please the casual and budget-conscious gamer in you.
  2. Xiaomi has finally launched its first Android Go Edition smartphone, the Redmi Go in India today. With the new Redmi Go, Xiaomi is targeting the first-time smartphone users in the country, and it's priced at Rs 4,449, which puts it head-to-head with other entry-level devices in the country like the Nokia 1, JioPhone 2, and more. Redmi Go comes packed with a bunch of India-focused features like support for up to 20 Indian languages, Hindi language support for Google Assistant, and more. © Xiaomi As for the specifications, the Redmi Go sports a 5 inch HD screen and it's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor. It also has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB thanks to the microSD card slot. 1GB RAM does sound dated in 2019, but it shouldn't be a matter of concern since the Redmi Go runs Google's Android 8.1 Oreo (Go Edition), an OS which essentially allows low-end phones to run smoothly despite limited memory and storage capacity. The phone also comes with some pre-installed applications like Gmail Go, Assistant Go, Maps Go, and more. © Xiaomi Other noteworthy specs of the phone include an 8-megapixel rear camera with HDR mode and a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Redmi Go does feature dual-SIM support, but sadly there's no dual VoLTE support. Redmi Go will be available to purchase from 22nd March onwards, and you'll be able to pick one up for yourself from Flipkart, mi.com or the Mi Home stores across the country.
  3. Sundays are meant to prepare you for the dreaded Monday blues and a long week ahead. You've probably bathed, eaten, and you're back in bed, browsing Netflix or maybe skipping through YouTube videos. Looking for a little something to tickle your funny bone? Well, if you're a true blue Punjabi movie fan, this list maybe done and dusted for you. If not, then here are a few recommendations for your Sunday binge. Most of these movies are easily available on Netflix and Amazon Prime, so subtitles won't be an issue. 1. Carry On Jatta (Part 1 & 2) This has to be on your list. Trust me, this movie and its sequel never ever disappoint. A man caught in a web of lies, with so many hilarious characters thrown into one frame, this will have you ROFL like never before. 2. Jatt & Juliet (Part 1 & 2) Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa never disappoint in this cop drama series which has part romance and a lot of comedy thrown into it. Also the sound track of the movies is quite good. 3. Vadhaiyan Ji Vadhaiyan This one is a comedy of errors which is nothing short of a laugh riot. If you want to watch a no-brainer, slapstick comedy which leaves you gasping for breath, just watch this and you're sorted. 4. Manje Bistre This one stars the gorgeous Sonam Bajwa and is a comedy movie with a Punjabi wedding in the background. The second part is already in the making. 5. Ambarsariya Another comedy featuring Diljit Dosanjh, which is a comedy of mistaken identity, and some peppy music to go with it. Even if you're not a pro at Punjabi, these movies will lighten up your Sunday like nothing else.
  4. After weeks of teasers, Tesla has finally shown the public its new Model Y crossover vehicle at the Tesla Design Studio in Hawthorne, California. The vehicle is based on the core design of the Model 3 sedan, but with a larger body, and a third row, for seating for up to 7 people. It's technically a crossover that has a tall body sitting on a basic car platform. Elon Musk had previously confirmed that Tesla's baby SUV will share up to 75 percent of its components with the recently-launched Model 3 saloon, including the platform. © Tesla “It has the functionality of an SUV, but it will ride like a sports car,” Musk said. “So this thing will be really tight on corners,” Tesla says it has a drag coefficient of 0.23, making it more streamlined than a Toyota Prius. This, in turn, helps in increasing efficiency. Musk devoted only five minutes of his 34-minute presentation to the new SUV. He spent the rest of the time recounting Tesla's rise and recent history. © Twitter / @sokane1 Most of the Model Y's interior is lifted from Model 3. Features include a minimalist dashboard devoid of physical buttons, a panoramic glass roof, a wireless smartphone charger, and an enormous 15-inch centre-mounted infotainment screen. The popular "Falcon Wing" doors of the Model X have been skipped though, our guess is to keep costs low. The base Model Y ("Standard Range") starts at US$ 39,000 (Rs 26,95,000), accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds, and can travel 230 miles (370 km) on a single charge. It will be the last version available, starting deliveries in spring 2021. © Tesla The Long Range model starts at US$ 47,000 (Rs 32,48,000) and can go up to 300 miles (482 km) on a single charge. The Dual Motor AWD variant will cost US$ 51,000 (Rs 35,24,000) and travel 280 miles (450 km). Lastly, the Performance option starts at US$ 60,000 (Rs 41,46,000) and can go from zero to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds with a range of 280 miles (450 km). Delivery of the three shall start from the fall of 2020. © Tesla Customers increasingly want taller vehicles that are easier to get in and out of and offer flexible storage. The Model Y gets a panoramic sunroof, 66 cubic feet of storage space and a third row for seating up to seven passengers. Musk also expects the car to get a 5-star crash rating and high safety marks, making it the safest mid-sized SUV till date. According to Tesla, the Model Y is compatible with the company's current Supercharger network of more than 12,000 Superchargers in 36 countries, as well as our new V3 Superchargers which can charge at rates up to 1,000 miles per hour.
  5. Just weeks after the launch of the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU, Nvidia has now introduced its smaller sibling, the GTX 1660. It's been made available in India for the price of Rs. 21,500 and it's the cheapest Turing-based Nvidia GPU that's out right now. © Nvidia Much like the Nvidia GTX 1660 Ti, the new GTX 1660 offers Turing performance, making it comparatively better than the GTX 1060. This new card is using the same TU116 Turing GPU as the 1660 Ti, however, you're looking at 6GB DDR5 memory with a bandwidth of 192GBps, instead of DDR6. The GTX 1660 comes with 1,408 CUDA cores and has a boost clock speed of 1.8GHz. Nvidia also noted that one can easily increase the clock speed with some overclocking. On average, it's 35% faster than the GTX 1060 3GB at 1080p, and compared to the Maxwell-architecture GTX 960, it's 130% faster. In layman terms, the GTX 1660 delivers enough power to play even the modern titles at 1080p with enjoyable frame rates. © Nvidia The Nvidia GTX 1660, just like the GTX 1660 Ti, belongs to the GTX family of GPUs. So you'll be loosing out on features like ray-tracing. But considering the fact that the adaptation of ray-tracing is still in its infancy, we think you can sit out on the higher-end RTX cards for a bit longer if you are strictly on a budget. Specifications aside, the GTX 1660 also brings support for Adaptive Shading technology, which further improves performance in supported titles. You also get some game enhancing techs like Ansel, Freestyle, GameStream, ShadowPlay, and more. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660 is now available from a lot of OEMs like Asus, Colorful, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Inno3D, MSI, Palit and Zotac. The pricing, as mentioned earlier, starts at Rs. 21,500, and it will vary based on partner designs and features. You can learn more about the GPU here.
  6. PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, as we all know, is a fairly demanding title. Hence, Bluehole Corporation launched a Lite version of the game earlier this year to make it more accessible. It was available in Beta for selected markets around the globe, but now, it looks like the title could soon be made available in more markets via Steam. In the latest March Dev Letter, the developers noted that the title is being added to Steam soon. The letter says, “PUBG LITE is aiming for PUBG STEAM version.” So, not only will the game be made available in more markets, but it'll be made available through Steam, which is always a good thing as it's more convenient. © PUBG Since the title is essentially a 'Lite' version of the original game, you'll be able to play it even on a moderately powerful PC. Here's a quick look at the minimum requirements: · OS: Window 7, 8, 10 · CPU: Core-i3 clocked at 2.4GHz · RAM: 4GB · GPU: Intel HD Graphics 4000 · HDD: 4GB As of now, there's no official word on the game's availability on Steam, but you can expect to learn more about it in the next dev letter or maybe even sooner than that. Additionally, the March dev letter also talks about some other changes in the game like new weapons, dynamic gunplay and more. You can read all about it here.
  7. When it comes to gaming and audio, most gamers tend to choose an over-the-head headset that delivers great surround sound. I use one myself. However, I find it extremely difficult to use one when playing on mobile or even my iPad. There are quite a few options out there that you can use but not many come in an earbud form. The HyperX Cloud Earbuds are one of those that wants to challenge its bigger brothers and has crafted earbuds for people who like to game on the go. These earbuds in our initial use provide balanced sound with a profile that makes it ideal for daily use. It comes with a case to store the earbuds so that you don't get them easily tangled and offers one of the best overall experience when it comes to portability. I've been using the earbuds particularly for playing PUBG mobile and even when playing single-player games on the PlayStation 4. It has a solid mic for communication with fellow teammates and can also be used for listening to music. The earbuds come with various fit options so that it can fit snug as a bug for every ear type. Design © HyperX In terms of design, the Cloud Earbuds have a very long wire, approximately four feet and has black rubberised earbuds. The tips are grey in colour, has triangular attachments and is translucent. The earbuds also have something along the lines of 'wings' that basically aides in keeping the earbuds in place within your ear. It's a very popular design that has been seen previously is music oriented earphones like the 1More Triple driver earphones; however, this is the first time we've seen something like this from HyperX. Apart from the basic design, the earbuds look fairy similar to other earbuds you may have seen before. You can however adjust the length of the words thanks to a plastic clip. There's even a button that can be used for various purposes such as making calls, play/pause music or even fire up Google Assistant. The beauty of these earbuds is that it can double up as a regular earphone as well. How Is It For Gaming? © YouTube Even though the HyperX earbuds look fairly simple and regular, the earbuds are compatible with any device that has a 3.5mm headphone jack. Having said that, regular earphones often have the bass boosted or has muddled sound which is not the case with these earbuds. It provides the best sound balance possible with more emphasis on sound effects. When playing PUBG mobile, I could clearly hear my enemy's footsteps that gave me the extra edge. © HyperX The HyperX earbuds can also be used for gaming on consoles such as the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. While playing Apex Legends and Red Dead Redemption 2, the sounds were crisp, clear and full of substance. The microphone was also great to use on the PlayStation 4 as friends in my party could hear me clearly without any muffled sounds. Having a goof microphone is essential for online gaming and the HyperX Cloud earbuds have nailed it in this department. Music As we mentioned before, these earbuds puts more emphasis on sound effects and when it comes to music, that statement remains true. We listened to some Weeknd, Drake and George Fitzgerald where the sound was not up to the mark as compared to other earphones. It puts vocals at the front and centre which is alright if you listen to a lot of pop music. However, I would not listen to bass heavy tracks on these earbuds if I were you. The Final Say For Rs 5,990, the HyperX Cloud Earbuds is the perfect investment for mobile gamers. If you want that extra edge when playing PUBG mobile or any other competitive game on your phone, you shouldn't look any further. While it is primarily meant for mobile gaming, you can even use it for single-player games on consoles.
  8. Realme is a fairly new brand, but this hasn't stopped it from giving established brands a headache. It has launched a plethora of phones in a very short span of time and intends to become a top contender in the longer run. The company's target audience is the youth and has always marketed its phone's as an all-rounder. With the launch of Realme 3, the brand will be directly competing with Xiaomi's Redmi Note 7. Within a strict price bracket, they need to offer as much as they can, and it should go well with every type of user. This includes the design, performance, camera, software, and battery life. While we used to forgo minor cost-cutting measures, intense competition has left no space for mistakes. The previously launched Realme U1 also has a P70 processor, so what's new on the Realme 3? A lot. Not only does it come with a cheaper price tag, but it also incorporates a host of improvements in all departments. Ultimately, everyone has just one question - can it become the best budget offering? Design & Display: © MensXP/Shivam Vahia The first thing you'll notice about the phone is its design. The Realme 3 feels exceedingly plastic and basic. It doesn't even feel very solid to hold and this is the primary segment where costs have been cut massively. The Realme U1 too had a plastic construction, but it was well-built and you'd even assume the back is made of glass thanks to the reflection. On the flip side though, a plastic construction means the phone is lighter and very comfortable to hold. We have a Gradient Blue with the upper three-fourths being black and the bottom being starry blue. A slight curve on the back edges also makes it very ergonomic and the phone is built from a utilitarian point of view. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia The SIM card tray has a separate microSD card slot and the front screen is protected by Gorilla Glass. The bottom of the phone has a micro USB port for charging along with a 3.5mm headphone jack. Lastly, the back has a circular fingerprint scanner that is sufficiently fast and reliable. The front sports a 6.2-inch LCD display with a 19:9 aspect ratio, 1520 x 720 resolution, and Corning Glass 3 for protection. The display is adequately bright but thanks to 720P resolution, sharpness goes for a toss. The colour production feels extreme, it is too saturated sometimes and often very washed out. The viewing angles are great though and it has a high screen-to-body ratio because of the water-drop style notch. Camera: © MensXP/Shivam Vahia The Realme 3 has a 13-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear camera setup and it has two conclusions to it as well. For the average user, the setup performs just like we expect it to. There's nothing exceptional about it and we don't see any major drawbacks. The camera app has an updated UI thanks to ColorOS 6.0 and also brings in a few new modes like Nightscape and Chrome Boost. Nightscape helps in optimising low-light pictures by using multiple frames and AI-backed processing. The results were much better than we expected because it cuts down on noise and retains sharpness. The primary lens has an f/1.8 aperture and it's good to see even budget phone's taking advantage of it. Chroma Boost mode helps in increasing saturation as well as dynamic range and gets the job done perfectly. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia The portrait mode can detect edges very well and it's supported on both, the front and back cameras. Macros are wonderful and look perfectly saturated. With a landscape background, the blur or bokeh effect does tend to get too aggressive though. As I said, the camera has two conclusions: for the general user, it'll get the job done quickly. For the pro users, Realme has also added support for Google's camera 2 API, meaning you'll soon be able to use the Google Camera app and produce Pixel-like pictures. The front has a 13-megapixel sensor and obviously, there's support for AI-backed beautification. But, you can control every aspect of the edits like nose width, blush, and eye size. In broad daylight, both the cameras score well and there's no major point to crib about. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia © MensXP/Shivam Vahia Performance & Software: A major selling point of the phone is its octa-core MediaTek Helio P70 chipset. It comes in two variants: 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Our unit comes with the latter and you can see a major point of improvement in the overall experience thanks to well-optimised software. The processor is clocked at 2.1Ghz (four cores) and is blazing fast. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia You'll never see any delay in day-to-day usage and RAM management has been relatively improved as well. I was able to use Twitter, Uber, Instagram, Spotify, and one Chrome tab at a given point of time and for a budget phone, this is significantly good. Games are even more enjoyable thanks to a 720P display (a drawback becomes a benefit) and PUBG is playable at medium graphics without any considerable frame drops or stutters. Following the recent trend, it has a dedicated "gaming mode" that enhances performance on-demand and even PUBG has been deeply optimized. You also get the option of deciding between a battery saver mode, normal mode, and aggressive mode (consumes more battery). And lastly, the P70's NPU comes in very handy. With so many AI-backed features, the NPU has become a critical requirement now and it even helps in faster face unlock. © MensXP/Shivam Vahia Coming to the software, it runs on ColorOS 6.0 and is massively improved. To start with, you finally get an app drawer and many major aspects of stock Android have been retained. The notification centre looks neat and the overall running of the UI is smooth. This enables the phone to offer the goodness of pure Android and added benefits of the skin. There is some bloatware, but it's easily removable. The phone has a 4230mAh battery and is more than enough to get you through a day's heavy usage. There is no "fast charging" as such, but the 10W charger can get you to 50 per cent within an hour. The Final Say: © MensXP/Shivam Vahia Yes, Realme has cut corners with the design and display. But these are minor drawbacks that won't actually hamper your day-to-day usage. And with budget phones, the focus is always more on utility. We expected the Realme 3 to be a superior all-rounder, and it hasn't disappointed. Performance is kick-ass, the camera has some unique offerings, software is cleaner, and battery life is perfect. When compared to the competition, it can easily take on Samsung's Galaxy M10 in terms of performance and camera. The Redmi Note 7 has a better design, subjective software, and a slightly better processor. If you are on a tight budget, the 3GB version makes sense to go with. And we're glad Realme is directly taking on Xiaomi, after all, competition is healthy for the end user and provides more options to choose from!
  9. If there's one thing well-dressed men are particular about, it's their ties. Any man who wishes to maintain a gentlemen's lifestyle wouldn't dare to wear a pre-done tie. They exist, yes. But a man needs to set himself apart from the rest by learning to tie his own bow-tie. Every man's rite of passage comes when he moves into adulthood, and the times that separate the men from the boys are black tie events. Learning this gentlemanly skill will improve your style game by 10x and help you rock a tuxedo like never before. Follow this step-by-step guide to tie the perfect bow-tie that'll make you look dapper AF: © MensXP Step 1: Pull up your collar and lay the bow tie around your neck. One side should hang 4-5 inches lower than the other. Then cross the longer end over the shorter end. Observe the reference images for guidance. Step 2: Create a half knot just like you do when tying your shoelaces. Easy peasy. Step 3: Keep a finger on the half knot to keep it tight. Then fold the shorter end of the bow tie in half. It should start to look like a bow tie. © MensXP Step 4: Take the longer end of the bow tie and pull it over the half-folded bow tie. Step 5: Now fold half of the unfolded part of the bow tie. Step 6: Just like you do when tying your shoes, pull the bow tie through the loop at the back of the bow. Do so by pushing and pulling along the fold. © MensXP Step 7: Pull only halfway through. Step 8: Pull on both sides of the bow and pull tight. As a little trick, put your index fingers through each of the loops and pull outwards. Step 9: Tug and pull to make sure the bow tie sits nice and tight. Then centre it in between your collar symmetrically. © MensXP Refer to the entire process step-by-step as illustrated above and you're all set. Voila! Now you've managed to tie your bow-tie from scratch. Not so difficult, was it?
  10. HMD Global, the Finnish company that currently sells Nokia brand smartphones has launched a brand new device for photography enthusiasts. It's called the Nokia 9 PureView and has an array of 5 rear cameras and Nokia claims it is the next step in computational photography. © HMD Global The Nokia 9 PureView was announced ahead of MWC alongside other budget smartphones such as the Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2, Nokia 1 Plus and a feature phone called the Nokia 210. The Nokia 9 PureView uses all five sensors at the same time to combine a number of images into one. MD Global claims that each lens shoots simultaneously in order to capture the perfect saturation, brightness and details. All five sensors on the Nokia PureView have 12MP sensors where three are monochrome sensors and the other two are RGB sensors with PDAF focus. The Nokia 9 PureView takes images in RAW by default and can be changed to different formats according to a user's preference. The camera setup was developed in collaboration with Light, a camera company known for making portable cameras with multiple lenses. The Nokia 9 PureView's comer setup is very reminiscent of the Light L 16 camera but with fewer lenses. All five camera lens on the Nokia 9 PureView is certified by Zeiss. Even though the Nokia 9 PureView has a Penta-camera setup, it does not have optical image stabilisation or OIS. Nokia is also partnering with Adobe for the Nokia 9. Lightroom will come preinstalled on the device and will have specific presets tuned to the lenses on the Nokia 9 PureView. © Reuters In terms of components, the Nokia 9 PureView is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor which is a bit outdated now that Snapdragon 855 is available. The Nokia 9 PureView has a 5.99-inch 2K pOLED display with noticeable top and bottom bezels. The chipset is complemented by 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which may not be enough to store RAW images. The Nokia 9 PureView is probably the most expensive device by HMD Global yet and will cost $699 (roughly Rs 49,674). Nokia 9 PureView is expected to launch in India soon and we will know the India pricing details when the smartphone gets launched.
  11. It seems like Samsung is all set to take on the iPhone XR with its own affordable version of the Galaxy S10. The Galaxy S10E boasts flagship level specifications but costs less than its bigger brother. It has almost every feature as the Galaxy S10/S10+ but with a few features stripped out. The Galaxy S10E is priced at $750 which is the same price as the iPhone XR and will naturally compete with Apple's affordable version of the iPhone. Having said that, there are some noticeable differences between the two smartphones such as the processor, camera setups and display size/quality. An affordable flagship smartphone is what makes a smartphone a huge success in India. It's a formula that has been working for OnePlus and Poco Phone for now and it seems like Samsung wants a slice of the pie. The Galaxy S10E will be the more affordable variant in the entire Galaxy series of 2019 and here are some of the key areas where it will challenge the iPhone XR. Cameras © Twitter The Galaxy S10E has a slight advantage over the iPhone XR in this department as it has a dual camera setup where one of the lenses is an ultra-wide lens. The primary sensor has dual aperture f1.5/f2.4 whereas the iPhone XR has a single 12 MP, f/1.8, 26mm (wide) sensor. The Galaxy S10E will be able to do everything the iPhone XR can with the additional ability to take wide angle pictures. In terms of picture quality, that remains to be seen when we get to take it for a spin ourselves. However, the iPhone XR is capable of taking some awesome pictures which you can have a look in our review here. The Processor © Samsung The Galaxy S10E is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset in the US whereas the Indian variant will come with Samsung's own Exynos 9820 chipset. Apple has an advantage here as the iPhone XR is powered by the A12 Bionic chip which blows Qualcomm's 855 chipsets out of the water. Even though Qualcomm is catching up with Apple's A12's performance, it's still slower in performance. The story remains the same with Samsung's Exynos 9820 chipset. Apple's A12 Bionic Chipset is the first chip that uses the 7nm architecture and has three important components. It has the CPU, GPU and Apple's own Neural Engine. The Exynos 9820 uses the 8nm architecture which is not quite up to the mark when it comes to battery life and performance when compared to the A12 Bionic SoC. Display © BCCL Samsung is known for its displays and the Galaxy S10E has a 5.8-inch AMOLED; 2,280x1,080 pixels panel. The iPhone XR, on the other hand, has a 6.1-inch LCD Retina Display; 1,792x828 pixels which are not in the same league as the S10E. Even though the iPhone XR has one of the most beautiful LCD screens we've ever seen, it still cannot beat Samsung's AMOLED display with higher pixels and resolution. The S10E's display even has a higher pixel density at 522ppi. It Has Reverse Charging © Samsung Both smartphones have wireless charging support but the Galaxy S10E takes it a step further. Then new Galaxy smartphones have a new feature called PowerShare. It lets the smartphone charge other devices wirelessly. We've already seen this feature on the Huawei Mate 20 Pro; however, Samsung has brought this feature to a more affordable device.
  12. For a lot of men, shaving is just another thing that has to be done, which is why their daily shaving routine is pretty basic - lather, shave and rinse. What's more? A lot of those men expect perfect results when they look in the mirror, even though their shaving routine is always less-than-perfect. However, shaving is more than just a chore - it's a rite of passage for every man. As such, it's worth putting some time and effort into your shaving routine, especially when you consider how impactful a truly great shave can actually be for you. Which is not to say that achieving the perfect shave requires some great sacrifice on your part. In fact, transforming your daily shave from an exasperating chore to a sought after part of your morning ritual is fairly easy. All you need to do is spare just a little bit of your valuable time for preparation, arm yourself with the right tools, and adhere to the following five simple steps. Achieve A Perfect Shave Every Time With These Easy Steps STEP 1: Preparation Is Key © Pexels The perfect shave requires the perfect surface, so the first step is all about preparing your skin before you unsheath your shaving paraphernalia. Use hot water to wash your face thoroughly - it'll soften your stubble, making your razor's job easier. Hot water will also open up your pores, which offers the blade a smooth surface to glide across. Lastly, it will help clear away the initial layer of oil, dirt, and dead skin, which can clog up all types of razors. STEP 2: Getting Down To Business © Wikimedia Commons Once your skin has been prepped, the next step is to get a nice, rich lather going. Apply a top quality shaving cream or the best shaving foam to your skin and work it into a lather using a shaving brush. This will hold your facial hair in an upright position, allowing the blade to approach the base of the hair which results in a smoother and closer shave. For an even more luxurious experience, you can even use a pre-shave beard oil on your skin before you lather up. STEP 3: In The Act © Unsplash Now comes the most technical part - the wielding of the blade. These days, the best electric shavers are waterproof, which means they can be used for wet as well as dry shaves, and they tend to do an admirable job, especially if all you want is a trim to keep your beard well groomed. However, if a close, clean shave is what you're after, a razor blade should be your weapon of choice, and the right technique will elevate the quality of your shave no end. You might have heard about the importance of shaving 'with the grain' without fully understanding what it means. Run your fingers over your stubble - if it feels smooth, you're moving with the grain and if it's rough, you're going against it. Shaving with the grain simply means moving the razor in the direction your hair is growing in, which makes for a much smoother, closer shave without running the risk of razor burns, cuts, and other skin irritations. Always remember to use gentle strokes, letting the weight of the razor dictate how much pressure you apply to the skin. STEP 4: Respect Your Razor © Pexels You'll get the best shave only as long as you treat your shaving implements with care, which is why looking after your blades is crucial. Rinse your razor blades after each stroke with hot water to dislodge any hair or shaving gel stuck in between. The most important thing to keep in mind is always having fresh, sharp blades at hand. Even the best safety razor won't be as effective if it doesn't come equipped with sharp blades. Old, worn out, and even dirty blades are more likely to cause nicks and cuts. And remember, your razor should be doing all the work here - if you have to exert a lot of effort, it's probably time to switch out your blunt blades for new razor sharp ones. STEP 5: Don't Forget About After-Shave Care © Shutterstock A shave isn't over when you put the razor down and wash your face - the perfect shave always ends with the proper aftercare for your face. Use cold water for the final face wash, as it helps close your pores. Always remember to pat dry with a towel, as rubbing can cause redness and irritation. Your final act should be to apply a good alcohol-free post-shave balm or cream. This will prevent your skin from drying out, while simultaneously soothing, hydrating, and nourishing it - leaving you with smoother, healthier skin and a classy clean shave!

  14. If tying a tie comes across as a herculean task for you, and you would much rather avoid it than go through this hassle every single day, then this article is for you. Here is a definitive guide to learn different kinds of tie knots which makes learning it breezy: 1. A Full Windsor Knot With the most prominent triangular finish, the Windsor knot is great for interviews. An easily intimidating knot, it can easily be tied without any difficulty. Here is a map that'll show how you should tie it. © MensXP 1. First, raise your shirt collar and drape the tie around the nape of your neck, so the wide end is on the right and extends around 12 inches further than the narrow end. 2. Next, cross the wide length over the narrow part. 3. Now, pull the wide section up through the opening at the neck, then down. 4. Then, pass the wide section underneath to the right of the narrow section with the other side facing out. 5. Cross the wide length over and to the left of the narrow one with the correct side facing out. 6. Pull the wide end up through the opening at the neck. 7. When bringing it down, pass it through the loop at the front. 8. Holding the dangling parts with one hand, slide the knot carefully up toward the collar with the other hand until snug, then lower the collar. 2. The Half Windsor Knot The knot, in presentation, is smaller than a full Windsor but works great with medium length ties and dress shirts. © MensXP For a Half Windsor knot: 1. Cross the wide section over the narrow one. 2. Next, cross the wide section underneath the narrow one so the wrong side is facing out. 3. Bring the wide end up and over to the left. 4. Pull through the opening at the neck so that it lies on the wrong end to the right. 5. Then, bring the wide section over the narrow part from right to left with the correct side facing up. 6. Bring the wide end up through the neck loop again. 7. When bringing it down, insert it through the loop at the front of the collar. 8. Adjust the knot by sliding it upward with one hand and holding the tails with the other. 9. Lower the shirt collar to complete the look. 3. A Pratt Otherwise known as the Shelby knot, the knot is best suited for lightweight and medium length ties. © MensXP To get this knot, follow these steps: 1. Firstly, raise collar and drape the tie wrong side up with the wide length hanging on the right side roughly 12 inches lower than the narrow end. 2. Next, cross the wide part of the tie under the narrow part. 3. Then, bring the wide end up and loop it down through the opening at the neck and tighten. 4. Then, you should cross the wide end to the right with the correct side up. 5. Pull it up through the neck opening. 6. Bring it down through the knot loop. 7. Slide and adjust the knot gently and lower the shirt collar to complete the process. 4. Four In Hand The complicated knot works well with heavy fabrics. Just wear it with a standard dress shirt and it'll look good. © MensXP 1. To cop this tie, drape the tie around the neck so the wide end is on the right side and extends roughly 12 inches below the narrow section. 2. Then, ring the wide part of the tie across the narrow part. 3. Next, bring the wide part under the narrow part. 4. Bring the wide side back over the top of the narrow part. 5. Bring the wide side up through the large loop at the neck. 6. With a loose hold on the knot, insert the wide end in a downward direction through the loop in front. 7. Holding the bottom narrow part of the tie with one hand, slide the knot upward with the other until neat and snug.
  15. The shade-y business isn't for everyone (forgive the pun). And most people certainly can't pull off shades. But that's only because they don't know what works for them and what doesn't. A major factor that you need to account for is your face shape. If you understand the dynamics of a pair of sunglasses and the shape of one's face, you can pull off shades like you've always wanted to. Here's a quick guide for you to help you get the right pick: 1. Round Face © Instagram With a round face, ideally stay away from anything that makes it look even rounder. Instead, choose glasses with angular frames like a square or a rectangle. These give an edge that balances out the roundness of your face. These frames will work on your face like a charm. 2. Square Face © Instagram For a defined jawline with symmetrical proportions, your face would ideally fit in the square face shape category. You obviously don't want to look like a square-faced robot. Here, round glasses, break the line and will suit your face best. 3. Oblong Or A Heart-shaped Face © Instagram Both face types have sharp, prominent cheekbones, that need complementing with other prominent structures. Aviators look the best with these face types. Try reflectors for a groovy effect. 4. Oval Face © Instagram If you have an oval face, you're one of the lucky ones. This blessed face shape works well almost any kind of shades. Take a cue from Ranveer Singh and go wild with the quirky ones.
  16. If you are looking to get on the ray tracing train and want to own the latest piece of hardware by Nvidia without spending a lot, the RTX 2060 is probably your only option. It's based on Nvidia's new Turing architecture and is the least expensive version from Nvidia's latest lineup. © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla The Founder's Edition of RTX 2060 retails in India for Rs 31,000 and is a worthy upgrade of its predecessor i.e. GTX 1060. Sure, it's a bit more expensive from the previous variant, however, you get to take advantage of the new Ray Tracing feature on a budget. It even has support for DLSS which lets the card render more realistic lighting in real-time. We used the card to test out two games that take advantage of this tech i.e. Metro Exodus and Battlefield V. In our test, the RTX 2060 easily matched the performance of equally priced GPUs with the added bonus of future-proof ray tracing support. It's the perfect choice for gamers who want to play games at 1080p resolution without shelling out a lot of money for an updated GPU. If you want to know our PC setup for the test, you can have a look at all the specs here. We substituted our RTX 2080 ti with the RTX 2060, while the rest of the setup remained the same. Specifications © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla The Founders Edition 2060 is basically based on the same TU106 processor that can be found on the RTX 2070. It has a single 8-pin power connector and two fans to keep it cooled. At the back, it has two DisplayPorts, a USB-C port and HDMI 2.0 input. In terms of CUDA core count, it has the same count as the GTX 1070 i.e. 1920 but has 5 Giga Rays/s. It also has 6GB GGDR6 of VRAM which basically increases performance and reduces power consumption at the same time. It's definitely an upgrade considering the previous iteration had the older GDDR5X configuration. The RTX 2060 also has a boost clock of 1680 MHz which is at par with the GTX 1070. CUDA cores are basically the workhorses of a GPU that is responsible for handling all the heavy computing. It works alongside the VRAM to offer clear differences in FPS counts with or without ray tracing. If you want to know more about ray-tracing and DLSS, you can read all about it here. Performance © MensXP/ Akshay Bhalla At the moment, there are only two games out there that supports DLSS and ray tracing i.e. Battlefield V and Metro Exodus. Regardless of game support, the RTX 2060 is a solid card when it came to 1080 performance. We ran it through some benchmarks to see how it fared in certain games: 3D Mark First Strike Test We used 3DMark, as it can simulate different types of games and is one of the more demanding benchmark tests a GPU can be put through. It also tests out the GPUs power consumption and the average temperature in gaming conditions. The RTX 2060 scores a respectable score in each department. Here's what the RTX 2060 managed to score: It was efficient when it came to cooling and managed to run at a peak temperature of 64ºC. Power consumption, on the other hand, was a tad bit higher than the 1070 but shouldn't be a major concern. RTX 2060 Firestrike Extreme Score © MensXP RTX 2060 3DMark Heat © MensXP RTX 2060 3DMark Power Consumption © MensXP Ray Tracing and DLSS Ray tracing and DLSS is the one feature that is exclusive to RTX cards and it is also the primary reason for the increase in price. Sure, there aren't many games out there that support these two features but the future looks bright thanks to numerous developers have already announced support for future games. At the moment, we could only test Metro Exodus and Battlefield V that has support for both features. When both features are turned on, the difference in graphics and lighting fidelity is noticeable. It breathes new life in Battlefield V however we would only recommend running RTX with DLSS switched on. Here are the results for both games in terms for Frames Per Second in 1080p with RTX on and Off Battlefield V (Frames Per Second) © MensXP Metro Exodus (Frames Per Second) © MensXP It's clear that RTX 2060 is capable of handling good FPS in 1080p and we could push it even higher when would turn down the RTX settings. In fact, it would boost the frame rate past 60fps easily. With DLSS turned on, we achieved the frame rates mentioned above but it noticeably looked better. The lighting was much warmer and had a better representation of shadows with DLSS. The Final Say Not everyone can afford a top-of-the-line graphics card for 4K gaming. Especially when you live in India and gamers are looking for more affordable options. For someone who wants to game 1080p and doesn't want to spend a lot on a new GPU, the RTX 2060 is your best option right now. It supports ray train and DLSS and is also future proof for Full HD gaming. It takes advantage of Nvidia's new Turing tech and costs only Rs 31,000. This is the GPU for the masses and an affordable option in 2019.

  18. This may sound like a radical notion, but I believe the best time to ask someone out on a first date is Valentine's Day. I mean, think about it- it's a day for love and anything romantic. The city is splashed with red and pink and the tonality of every mind space reads love. So, there couldn't be a more perfect day for a first date. Yes, it may come off a bit clichéd to pick a day like Valentine's Day to go on a first date but in all honesty, your inhibitions will automatically be lowered because you'll be comfortable taking your girl out on a day that celebrates love. © UTV Motion Pictures If you feel that the pressure of making everything 'romantic' and 'cheesy' on Valentine's Day is immense because that's what the day is supposed to be about, then don't let it define your first date. You don't have to define your so-called association and relationship by making it excessively romantic or cheesy. In fact, being casual and spontaneous adds a little more spark to your first date. In any case, you two are absolutely new to each other, so unless you know her damn well, play it safe with your first-date-options. So for all you Tinder and other online dating sites surfers, Valentine's Day seems like the perfect day to ask her out. Here are some casual first-date things you can do on your first date: (1) A Good Comedy Show There is nothing better than some natural humour to spice up your first evening together. Let me tell you that humour is the key ingredient in making anything work. Especially romantic liaisons. So, if you're not naturally funny then head for a comedy show somewhere in the city. Comedy shows are a riot right now, so you'll find one happening with ease. © Pintrest (2) Take-Out Food Date If you're driving that night maybe you can convert your car into a sweet little bistro! Both of you unanimously decide on what you two feel like eating and get a takeaway from the restaurant. Drive to a convenient spot somewhere and maybe have a very personal dinner date together in your car. Only do it if you're not OCD about finding food bits in your car and if she trusts your intentions and is okay with the plan. Don't whisk her away, without her permission. She may just want to be in a public place with you, which is fine too. But in case she's okay with the plan, then play some soulful music have conversations and a bite to eat. Make sure you're not drinking in the car though. That's a big NO-NO! © Pintrest (3) A Live Music Gig Does The Trick Music is a natural healer and enabler! So if you're nervous AF for your first date with the girl you've been fancying, then take her for a nice musical evening. Find out where some good live gigs are happening and head there. You can mention that you'd like her to see a live gig with you and maybe catch dinner later and she'll definitely agree. Try this one out for sure. © Pintrest (4) Netflix & Chill? Okay, maybe you don't have to 'chill' per-say because you know. I'd advise you against sleeping together on the first date itself but if you want to keep away from the Valentine fervour all around town, you can maybe ask her if she'd be interested in watching a few non-Valentine's Day shows with you on Netflix! You can make it seem like you're not asking her for ***, but just for some chilling time. You can pop open a bottle of your favourite poison, get some good food and watch something that interests you both or maybe just spend some time conversing and getting to know each other better. © Screen Gems (5) Good 'Ol Fashioned Bowling Bowling dates are so old-fashioned that they need to be brought back. Remember when bowling alleys were the thing almost 10-15 years ago? Well, you can always recreate that fun by taking her bowling. Bowling alleys are still active and functional around towns, so find the best one around you and take her for a good 'ol game of bowling! © Pintrest (6) Karaoke Is Fun! If you want to do something really fun together, head over for a karaoke gig. Karaoke is fun because you're doing something together and laughing about it at the same time. You both can sing old or new songs together and make a bunch of good memories on your first date itself. It's the least clichéd-romantic thing to do and let's face it, it's fun as hell! © Pintrest Valentine's Day is just a push towards some good first dates. If you're looking for the perfect opportunity to ask her out, this could be it. Just plan it well, so it doesn't seem extra-cheesy or lame all at once. You can make it seem like a casual hangout, or a 'get to know each other' session, in the name of St. Valentine's! So, gather that hidden courage and ask her out now!
  19. You can certainly blame Bollywood as to why most women love big gestures and dramatic declarations of love. Something about going all out conveys the depth of one's emotions, apparently. However, women know just how difficult this task might be for some of you and therefore, they are happy with some subtle gestures that reassure them of your love for them. 21. Be it a date night, a red carpet or your regular job, the art of tucking your shirt in should be the one thing that every man knows. With all the new styles emerging and the idea of the one kind of shirt tuck being lost somewhere in between, we are still fans of the old school way. Think of it this way, you do this chore every single day, so why not do it the right way? The Ideal Way To Tuck Your Shirt In The goal of an ideal shirt tuck is to make your torso look flat and smooth. In this case, wrinkles are a big no-no and so is excess showcasing of the dreaded muffin-top. © theartofmanliness A proper tuck should have a clean 'gig line' which is a military term for the line formed straight down your upper body. A properly tucked shirt should sit so that the cloth with the buttons lines up precisely with the fly of your trousers. Your belt buckle and trouser button should ideally be in the same line. © telegraph uk One must also know when to tuck in their shirt as there's more than one kind tuck out there. They all depend on what kind of shirt you're wearing, the occasion, comfort and more. Here are a few types of tucks you can experiment with and nail the perfect tuck every single time: The Loose Tuck © Wikihow Loose tucking is the most basic method of tucking and one that every man knows. This is the easiest and the quickest method to tuck in your shirt. Method: Simply tuck your shirt's loose ends into the waistband of your trousers and then fasten your zip and buttons. Use your favourite belt to accessorize and you're good to go. The Underwear Tuck © thedistilledman The name of the method might suggest differently but this does not involve tucking your shirt into your underpants. Don't do that under any circumstances. This is a layered tucking method for when there's an undershirt involved. Method: In an attempt to get a creaseless finish, tuck your undershirt inside your underwear. Then tuck your shirt in the way you normally would. This should put an end to all the extra fabric bulging at your waistband. The Military Tuck © theartofmanliness.com Used by the armed forces, the military tuck is a foolproof shirt-tucking method. When the fabric of your shirt begins to bulge out of the waistband, wrinkled and unruly, it doesn't make a good impression. This method cancels out that problem and will give you a perfectly in place tuck all day. Method: Follow the same procedure as the loose tuck but run your thumbs around the front to the sides of your waistband before buttoning up, smoothening any creases. Pinching the fabric at each side and folding it back on itself will create the ideal fit. Tucking is such a simple step but it can impact your whole look. Ensuring the best fit possible to your clothing is in your hands now. Quite literally. Cheers!
  22. Bad haircuts are as mortifying as witnessing a ghost apparition. Not even exaggerating. But once done wrong, there's no going back for a month straight. But here's the thing: your inability to communicate well with your hairstylist is only harming you. No-one else. This hamartia is stopping you from becoming the best version of yourself. But you should know, however, fatal, this is a fixable flaw. Read along to know exactly what to say to your hairstylist for your next rendezvous and see yourself transform into a Greek god that can make Zeus insecure. 1. Take A Tonne Of References © Instagram You need a tonne of references of hairstyles you think you could pull off. For reference, take a look at these. This helps your hairstylist visually picture it, which is any day better than words. This helps rule out any kind of miscommunication that you guys might have. 2. Don't Fall Short On Words While picture references are great, you don't want to be a mute while showing them. After all, every face shape and hair type is different. Talk to your stylist about the length and how the reference that you like will look on your face. Use words. 3. Texture & Hair Type While at it, make sure your stylist is familiar with your hair texture and type. During the conversation, make sure they are feeling up your hair to get a good idea of how the hair is going to look like in that desired style. 4. Be Prepared To Give Up On A Few Ideas While having a perfect style in your head is great, it's important to know that it might not materialize every single time and that's okay. A lot of hairstyles only work on certain face shapes and not others. But hey, your perfect style exists out there. You just need to look for it. 5. Let him know. These details matter in saving you from a hot mess.
  23. When it comes to dating, life becomes really hard for a man. All thanks to the f****d up *** ratio of our country. Getting matches on a dating app isn't easy if you don't have the looks of Ryan Gosling and humour of Chandler Bing. On apps like Tinder, where girls get 30 matches in one day, guys get one measly match in 30 days. via GIPHY If you too are swiping right and right and still not able to find a match, worry no more. Other dating apps have come in picture and some of them are as good as Tinder, if not more. via GIPHY Here are 5 such apps which you can join to improve your odds of getting more dates: 1. Bumble Bumble has been in India for a while but officially it was launched recently by Priyanka Chopra. This is the app which has better UI than Tinder and somehow, pictures on it look even better. Bumble works on the same principle as Tinder: swipe and match. However, here you can enter more than just your bio and pictures. via GIPHY Bumble lets you enter your height, your drinking and smoking habits, whether you have pets, whether you have/want kids, what are you here for (something casual/relationship/marriage), your zodiac sign, and even your political leaning. All these things apart from your bio. In addition, it lets you answer questions like two truths and a lie, recent act of kindness, and many more. And if you are bad at breaking the ice, worry not. Here girls have to make the first move. Guys can't text first. It definitely is a great alternative for Tinder. 2. Hinge This one broke the swiping barrier and launched a whole new concept - anyone can message anyone. And if you're bad at even messaging, then you can just like the other person's picture and they will get a notification. via GIPHY Hinge has found a decentish way to check the authenticity of the profile. On Hinge, you can't get away by just uploading one or two pictures. You will have to upload six pictures, no more and no less. Like Bumble, Hinge also gives you an option to put three questions in your profile. Putting questions and answers make it easy for the other person to break the ice. 3. Truly Madly It doesn't have a very pretty UI, but it does the trick. This one is again for people who are not a big fan of bios. Truly Madly gave no space to bios but put the latest fad, hashtags, to describe yourself. You can use up to five hashtags to define yourself, or your hobbies, or what are you looking for. via GIPHY The chat room of this app has some bugs in the latest version where if you type a long message, sometimes only half of it gets delivered. So this is a perfect app for the people who use “chatroom here sucks, let's move to Instagram” line. This app is also good when it comes to privacy, as your name won't be displayed to anyone until you get matched with the person. And, for an ice-breaker after getting a match, Truly Madly has games where you answer certain questions and can check what the other person answered to see how compatible you are. This app also gives you an option to mention your favourite music, movies, books, food, and games. Again, becomes a good ice-breaker. 4. Happen If you're lazy and love your bed too much, this isn't the app for you. Happen shows you people only in the area where you are or where you have been. If you cross a person and you both have Happen installed, it will show your profile in each other's phone. via GIPHY Happen comes quite handy if you're too shy to pick girls in a pub. When you see a girl in a club you like, you can just take out your phone, if she is on Happen then it will show her profile. If you both press like, then bam, it's a match made on Happen! You can go to her and talk or if being an introvert is your thing, then just chat over the app until you're comfortable enough to buy her drinks. 5. Aisle If you are looking for something casual, then this isn't the app for you. As the name suggests, it is made for the prospect of finding a long-term partner. Also, the app isn't free and after a short trial, you need to shed some good money in order to like profiles. If you have decided to join it, make sure you have plenty of time when you sit to make a profile. via GIPHY You will have to answer quite a few questions, actually, 5-page long questionnaire. And it gets checked and verified by their team. Only after the verification, you can join the app. But all this seems worth it when you don't see fake profiles on the app. Because of such lengthy joining process and the joining fee, only people who are genuinely looking for something serious make their profile here. I hope you made it till here without downloading all or a few of the mentioned apps. Desperation has no place in the dating world!
  24. Bros… They fight and then they make up. While some fights are short-lived and can be overcome over a couple of cold ones, some are rather ghastly and leave a scar on the relationship. It may last for years, sometimes even decades but if they are true to their friendship, things do end on a happy note. Such is the case with the two Indian bowlers who used to be best buddies before one day, India's top spinner Harbhajan Singh decided to get one across S Sreesanth's face after the end of an Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). More than a decade ago, during IPL's 2008 series, Singh's Mumbai Indians were going through a bad run and were on a losing streak. Things were hostile inside the locker room and the frustration showed on the faces and in the actions of the team members. So, when the then 24-year-old Sreesanth led Punjab to victory against Singh's MI, the Kerala-born pacer ended up with a red face and tears in his eyes. Why, you ask? Well, because after an over enthusiastic Sreesanth, who was known for mocking the batsmen after he got them out, did the same to Bhajji's men, Singh ended up slapping his fellow Man in Blue. Of course, we are going on the words of the people who witnessed this live, as there is no footage of the incident taking place. However, 11 years later, in an interview with BehindWoods Air, Singh has finally given his apology in front of everyone and believes that it should not have happened. “Whatever happened with Sreesanth.. me and him on the field… a lot of people talk about that incident now. If I have to go back and rectify something in my life, I would correct that. I shouldn't have done that,” he said. Now it is up to Sreesanth, who has been desperate to get another chance of playing with Team India after being accused of match fixing, to let go of the incident and forgive Bhajji. Could this be the beginning of another bromance? After all, time heals all wounds.
  25. OnePlus have been making spectacular smartphones that deliver one of the best Android experiences. It offers flagship-level performance and design for a fraction of a premiums smartphone's price. It's powered by Qualcomm's latest chipset every year and has one of the most beloved features i.e. Warp Charge. Even though the company opted to remove the headphone jack, the company still got a pass simply because they deliver great hardware — apart from one thing. © OnePlus While OnePlus smartphones perform like a beast, they always seem to underperform in one department — the camera. Don't get me wrong, the camera is not awful but it's also not up to the mark when compared to other smartphones. We test numerous smartphones throughout the year and even some budget smartphones have managed to take better pictures than the OnePlus 6/6T. I've often heard internet trolls comment on every iPhone or Pixel Review “I can buy a OnePlus 6 and a DSLR for the same price as an iPhone.” While that may be true when considering price as a factor, but if you like to take quality pictures, you will end up doing just that. Unless you're a photography enthusiast, you really don't want to lug around a DSLR camera everywhere with you. Ask me! I do it for reviews and it's not always convenient. In an age where social media plays a vital role in our lives, we really need a good camera smartphone that doesn't cost too much and OnePlus needs to be that phone. I'm not saying that future OnePlus smartphones need to have the best smartphone cameras, I'm just saying it needs to be better. © OnePlus Even with the addition of Nightscape mode on the OnePlus 6T, the camera still takes pictures that are often blurry, noisy and also face focusing issues. In fact, it's a recurring problem that you can find on OnePlus' official forums as well. Having said that, the company has improved the OnePlus6/6T's imagine capabilities over time with regular software updates and incremental upgrades in the hardware department each year, we can expect something outstanding with the OnePlus 7. OnePlus and Oppo share the same supply chain as we've seen OnePlus use the tear-drop design it borrowed from R17 Pro. In fact, there's a good chance that OnePlus may use Oppo's upcoming smartphone camera. As of now, the OnePlus 6/6T uses a dual-camera setup however neither of the lenses is a telephoto lens. Hence, the smartphone uses the 1x/2x zoom feature digitally which often leads to an image with distortion. OnePlus could use Oppo's new Telephoto lens that is expected to be announced at MWC next month. The new camera is said to have a 10x optical zoom which means it is possible to see a similar camera on a future OnePlus smartphone. © Twitter_Venya Geskin OnePlus has already confirmed that its future smartphone will use Qualcomm's Snapdragon 855 chipset and is also working on a 5G ready phone. Other rumours suggest that the OnePlus 7 may have a seamless notch-less design and a sliding front-facing camera. In many ways, OnePlus 6T/6 is already the perfect Android smartphone for users. It delivers great performance, charges real quick and has one of the best UIs out of there. It offers a premium design that sometimes outmatches flagship level smartphones. All we need now is a great camera sensor that can make OnePlus 7 the perfect smartphone we've always wanted. It's the only reason preventing me from making it my primary device and if OnePlus manages to deliver a great camera, it will be the ultimate smartphone of 2019.
