اک "ع" تھی پھر "ش" تھا 

کچھ آگ تھی کچھ راکھ تھی 

اک دشت تھا اک بحر تھا 

صحرا بھی تھا اور پیاس تھی... 

پھراک خلا۔۔۔۔۔ بے انت سا 

اک بند گلی۔۔۔ سا۔۔۔۔ راستہ 

ویرانیاں' تنہائیاں ۔۔۔۔ پھر "ق"تھا 

پھر سارا منظر راکھ تھا 

سب خاک تھا
