After a long wait of 21 years, India's Harnaaz Sandhu finally won the title of Miss Universe 2021 on Monday (13 December) making the whole country proud. The event was held in Eilat, Israel. Since then, celebrities and social media users have been congratulating Harnaaz for her achievement. A throwback video of the young Punjabi girl is now doing the rounds on the internet in which she's seen expressing her love for Priyanka Chopra Jonas. 

The clip is from an old interview when she won the Miss Diva 2021 title. The video has resurfaced on social media after her Miss Universe win in which Harnaaz is seen talking about her love for Bollywood's very own 'desi girl' Priyanka Chopra Jonas. 

In the clip, Harleen says, "I love Priyanka Chopra. So whatever lessons I can learn from her is nevertheless. So I will always choose Priyanka".

Making her victory more special, the Fashion actress took to social media and wished Harnaaz on winning the contest. Priyanka tweeted, "Congratulations @HarnaazSandhu03… bringing the crown home after 21 years!"

This is not the only video of Harnaaz which is getting attention online. A clip of her shouting 'Chak De Phatte' right after winning the crown too is being viewed by many.

With this historic victory, Harnaaz has become the third Indian to win the title of Miss Universe. Before her, only two Indians had won this title - Sushmita Sen in 1994 and Lara Dutta in 2000. Both of them congratulated Harnaaz on her huge victory and welcomed her to the club.

For the unversed, Sandhu was born in Chandigarh in a Sikh family and is currently pursuing her postgraduate degree in public administration. In the past, she has also won several beauty pageants and was even crowned Miss Chandigarh in 2017.
