Two years ago in December 2019, Karan Johar had announced Shakun Batra’s next directorial starring Deepika Padukone, Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Dhairya Karwa.
The movie was eagerly anticipated amongst the fans and movie buff as Shakun’s previous directorial Kapoor & Sons had received a lot of love.

Recently, there were reports of the film opting for a straight to OTT release and it has been confirmed now. Karan Johar took to social media and announced the release date of the film along with its title - Gehraiyaan.
He also released a teaser featuring its lead cast that gave a glimpse of the film.
Going by the teaser, the film seems to be a relationship drama. It was reported that Deepika’s character and Ananya’s character will be playing sisters in the film with Siddhanth and Dhairya portraying the characters of their respective husbands.
