Allu Arjun Rules As 'Pushpa' Beats 'Sooryavanshi' To Become Highest Grossing Film Of 2021

After the mega-success of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Allu Arjun’s next film Pushpa was eagerly awaited. More so because it was supposed to be his first pan-India release, his official introduction in Hindi speaking belts.

The film was released in South India amidst huge excitement, however, the Hindi dubbed version saw minimal promotions.

Moreover, it was also facing the box office hurricane that was Spider-Man: No Way Home.

However, once the film was released on December 17, it surprised everyone and how, especially, with its collection in the Hindi dubbed version.

The movie opened low but stayed steady, braving not only Spider-Man: No Way Home but also the new release in Ranveer Singh starrer 83.

Now in its third week, Pushpa has collected over Rs 60 crore in Hindi and the all-India collection of the film from all languages has now gone past Rs 200 crore.

That is not all, by hitting Rs 200 crore at the box office in India, Pushpa took down Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi and Marvel Studios’ Spider-Man: No Way Home to become the highest-grossing film of the year 2021 in India.

While it has beaten Sooryavanshi by a big margin, in terms of nett collection, Pushpa has also edged past Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, in gross collections, Spider-Man: No Way Home is still on the higher side.
