Going to a business school surely helps one in elevating management skills but not everyone needs a degree in finance and marketing to become an entrepreneur. Meet Chennai’s ‘Auto Anna’, an auto rickshaw driver who can give any start-up a stiff competition.

Anna Durai has won everyone’s heart; including leaving Anand Mahindra in awe of his customer skills. His auto is equipped with free Wifi, newspapers, magazines, an iPad, refreshments and drinks stocked up in a mini fridge, and even an Amazon Echo to keep his customers fully entertained.

While his ‘customer is king’ approach is right on point, Auto Anna is also doing his bit of moral work. He offers free rides to sanitation workers, doctors, teachers and nurses.

Now one would wonder that he’d always be busy driving through town, to keep his routine streamlined and to ensure customer satisfaction, he has his own app and a website where one can book a ride. “There used to be a time when I would wait for them. But today, they wait for me,” he said in an interview with Better India. When he is not at work, he is busy preparing for management lectures at business schools, as he is a management guru for students looking for a practical example.

He is also a TedX speaker and a walking pillar of hardwork cum success, who never shies away from sharing his mantra.

So in case you are even in Chennai, then you might want to ditch the cab and meet Auto Anna instead!
