The OTT space is all set to change forever with Ajay Devgn, a major Bollywood superstar making his debut with a web series. 

Last month, the first trailer of his debut web series Rudra was dropped online and received an unprecedented response. Now, a second trailer of the show has been released that dives further into the “dark” world of Rudra.

Ajay Devgn plays DCP Rudraveer Singh who works in an agency called SCU. Esha Deol plays the character of his wife, and Raashi Khanna, in her Bollywood debut, plays a psychopath whom Rudra befriends as she helps him in his cases. 

As the title Rudra: The Edge of Darkness suggests, the trailer promises a dark thriller with lots of “tod fod”.

There is a sequence in the trailer where Ajay Devgn is seen abusing on-screen probably for the first time. Reacting to that, a user wrote, “Jab tak web series me 2-4 gaali na ho , tab tak Indian web series hai lagti hi nahi”.

Another user echoed similar sentiment as he tweeted, “Gaali nahi bolni thi sir”. 

One fan was left in awe of Ajay Devgn and the trailer as he replied, “Wow... Can't wait to witness the biggest web series of India. Aj rules....” 

Applauding the trailer for being a faithful remake of Luther, one user wrote, “Trailer is intriguing by seeing the trailer seems like they adapted the original plot perfectly, #AjayDevgn looking good and also happy & proud to see @vikram_the_Leo along with this renowned artists can't wait for March 4th #rudra #RudraTheEdgeOfDarkness #VikramSinghChauhan”.

Rudra: The Edge of Darkness is an official remake of the British crime thriller Luther starring Idris Elba in the lead role.

The Hindi version is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar of Ferrari Ki Sawaari fame. Besides Ajay Devgn, Esha Deol and Raashi Khanna, the show also features Ashish Vidyarthi, Atul Kulkarni, Luke Kenny, Milind Gunaji and Ashwini Kalsekar. 

Rudra: The Edge of Darkness will reportedly have 6 episodes and will release on Disney+ Hotstar on March 4.
