'Idiocy Has No End' Pak Journo Roasted For Saying Shaheen Would've Earned Rs 200 Cr In IPL

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction saw the fates of 204 players change as all the 10 franchises spent almost Rs 552 crore to fill their squads.

Young wicket-keeper batter Ishan Kishan stole the show as he became the most expensive buy of this year's IPL auction. Kishan was sold to five-time champions Mumbai Indians for a whopping Rs 15.25 crore.

Best cricketing talents from across the world were part of the IPL 2022 mega auction except for cricketers from Pakistan due to the suspended cricketing ties between the two nations.

Pakistan cricketers have been missing from the lucrative league for a number of years. However, this did not stop a journalist from Pakistan from expressing his feelings about the recently concluded mega auction.

He claimed that had Shaheen Afridi been a part of the IPL mega auction, the pacer would have fetched a bid of Rs 200 crore. "If, Shaheen Shah Afridi was in #IPLAuction. He would’ve gone for 200 crores," the tweet read.

Shaheen might be one of the best fast bowlers around in world cricket at the moment but to say he would have gone for Rs 200 crore was a prime example of letting your emotions get the better of you.

There was a purse cap of Rs 90 crore for each franchise and fans wasted little time before they brutally trolled the Pakistani journalist and flooded Twitter with hilarious memes.

Idiocy has no end. Each franchise can spend only ₹90C & must’ve 18 players. So even if you buy 17 players at ₹20L, you wouldn’t be able to spend more than ₹87C for a single player. This dude perhaps thinks 2-3 franchises can match fix & spend ₹200C collectively to buy Afridi! https://t.co/4X1687deiU

Of course. He would also bowl, bat and field alone. For all the teams. And still lose the finals. https://t.co/BXmtre0xuu

Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi made headlines with his fiery spell against arch-rivals India in last year's T20 World Cup. The left-arm bowler picked up three big wickets as he sent back Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli.

In the auction, apart from Ishan Kishan, Deepak Chahar, Shreyas Iyer and Liam Livingstone too earned big contracts.

Chahar returned to Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore while Iyer moved from Delhi Capitals to Kolkata Knight Riders with a bid of Rs 12.25 crore. England's big hitter Livingstone went to Punjab Kings for a sum of Rs 11.50 crore.
