The long wait is finally over! After over five and a half years since he announced Zero back in August 2016 and more than three years since the release of that film, Shah Rukh Khan has finally announced his next big screen entertainer in Yash Raj Films’ Pathaan.

Directed by Siddharth Anand of War fame, Pathaan has been in the works for over two years now but an official announcement wasn’t made. 

Sharing the announcement teaser of the film along with its release date, Shah Rukh Khan tweeted, “I know it’s late… But remember the date… Pathaan time starts now… See you in cinemas on 25th January, 2023. Releasing in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. Celebrate #Pathaan with #YRF50 only at a big screen near you.”

The announcement teaser starts with John Abraham & Deepika Padukone as they talk about the lead character and how he was named Pathaan. 

The clip then shifts to a voiceover by Shah Rukh Khan and we see a blurry figure walking towards the screen, before the face could be revealed, the screen fades to black and the title Pathaan appears.

As soon as the film was announced, fans went crazy and Pathaan started trending.

A few days back, Shah Rukh Khan broke the internet when he dropped an action-packed ad for a soft drink brand. The ad was treated as a tease for Pathaan and many speculated that the announcement of the hugely anticipated film is around the corner.  

As for the film’s release date, Pathaan in all probability will have a solo release on January 25, 2023.
