Since the last couple of years, grief, misfortune and uncertainty have all taken center stage, pushing aside any hope for a better future. At first it was the outbreak of a pandemic, and now it is being on the brink of a world war 3, as Russia invades Ukraine.
Russian troops continue to bombard parts of Ukraine as the people come together to fight against the Russian soldiers. Blood is being spilled on both sides and it seems it will be long before the bloodshed stops. The reality is grim, and sometimes times like these make you wonder whether to cherish what you have left in the moment, or to forget everything else and fight for what truly matters.

While some are calling it the right spirit to have amid a war, where students can find one moment of happiness and just seize the day, others are calling it a tone-deaf celebration at a time where thousands are being killed in Ukraine.

Waiting for Kartik to come and complain about Embassy not arranging chips and samosas for the party. https://t.co/MqmOQkRDcJ

Really hope they do this https://t.co/ks4nVmhp8w

Which side are you on? ‘Seizing the day’ or ‘reading the room’?
