For Shah Rukh Khan it was romance (and sometimes comedy), for Akshay Kumar it has been patriotic films for the longest time and for actress Anushka Sharma it has been picking up films in the sports genre.

Whether it is her own affiliation towards sports or the influence of her cricketer husband, Virat Kohli, the actress is set to release her next film on Netflix named Chakda Xpress.

Preparing to play the role of the former captain of India’s women's cricket team, Jhulan Goswami, Chakda Xpress is going to be a biopic of the former captain, helmed by Anushka Sharma, in a never seen before avatar.

The ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ actress would be returning to the screens after a break of 3 years and is ready to set the screen on fire, as a BTS video from her preparation for this role, speak for itself.

Recently, Anushka shared a video on her Instagram account with a caption that read, “Get-Sweat-Go! #ChakdaXpress #prep getting hard and intense as we are counting days @netflix_in @jhulangoswami @officialcsfilms @prositroy @kans26 (sic).”

In merely 3 hours, the BTS video has garnered 700 thousand likes and several hundred comments where fans are going crazy over her new look and prep.

With countless lovestruck emojis in the comments where people are referring to Anushka Sharma as the ‘Chakda Girl’, one user wrote in anticipation of the movie, “I can’t wait to see you in this movie”.

Another fan commented, “Like husband like wife” as people even called her the ‘new RCB Captain’.  

Safe to say, fans are eager to see how Anushka Sharma dons this role of a cricketer, especially since her own husband has been a legend in the gentleman’s game.  

The release date of this Netflix Original hasn’t been announced yet, but it is anticipated to be released later this year.
