Trolls recently targeted Ananya Panday when she wore a sheer black dress with a thigh-high split and a bodysuit to Dharma Productions CEO Apoorva Mehta's star-studded birthday bash. In a recent interview, her father, actor Chunky Panday, has reacted to the trolling and defended the Gehraiyaan star. He stated that the young actress is in show business and needs to look glamorous.

Talking to Hindustan Times about his daughter Ananya being trolled for her recent fashion choice, Chunky said, "We, as parents, have never told her what to wear and what not to. We brought up both of our daughters quite well and they are very sensible. Ananya is in the show business today, and she needs to look glamorous. She should put her best foot forward and dress up". 

He went on to say that his daughter looked lovely and added, "One thing I know for sure about my girls is that there’s a certain kind of innocence in them. I’m sure they can wear anything and carry them off without looking vulgar." 

While adding that his family also makes fun of his clothing choices, the Houseful actor shared, "Getting laughed at for what you’re wearing is very common. We should take these things as a compliment. And if her dad doesn’t mind, then I don’t think anyone else should mind".

He further expressed that one should laugh at the comments of trolls. "I tell Ananya Panday, ‘At least people are discussing you, be it good or bad’. We make sure that we don’t bother about trolls. She has learnt to laugh at herself. One shouldn’t let these things get to their heart," he concluded.

On the film front, Ananya will be seen romancing South star Vijay Devarakonda in Puri Jagannadh's pan-India film Liger. She recently started filming for Zoya Akhtar's upcoming production venture titled Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. The film stars Siddharth Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav as the male leads.
