Last year, it was announced that an exciting new project was coming up with Zoya Akhtar donning the director’s cap.

The movie is a ‘desi’ remake of the iconic Archie Comic world and the star cast includes newcomers Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor and Agastya Nanda. 

The three B-town kids already enjoy a crazy fan base on social media and it is only natural that their fans are eager to experience Zoya’s version of Riverdale. 

Yesterday, a few pictures from the sets of the film leaked online and Suhana and Khushi were seen in character for their films, from which one could fathom that Suhana is probably Veronica. Khushi was dressed as Betty with copper hair and a knitted vest on a shirt.

Agastya Nanda, who is Abhishek Bachchan’s nephew and Big B’s grandson is probably playing Archie, by the looks of his character.  

However, fans were quick to jump to conclusions and just with these glimpses, decided it was not going to be as exciting as they thought it to be.

As per some reports, the Netflix movie will be a musical drama and while Zoya Akhtar’s storytelling capacity is par excellence( how we love rewatching ZNMD, Dil Dhadakne Do), people do have their inhibitions with so many movies and series already being made on the Riverdale world narrative, showing the classic love triangle between Archie, Veronica and Betty. 

Let’s hope this one is not a dampener.
