A scene from Anil Kapoor’s hit movie, Nayak, was recreated recently on the streets of Delhi when an AAP corporator, Hasib Al Hassan took a milk bath after he got drenched in gutter water. 

The backstory is that he jumped into an overflowing sewage drain in Shastri Park, East Delhi, and was chest-deep in the gutter to clean it.

This is a normal day in the lives of all sewage cleaners that clean the drains on a regular basis but no one offers to pour water on them, let alone milk. 

However, buckets of milk were poured on Hassan by his supporters to clean him up right there on the road.  

The whole incident was recorded and shared on social media. The video has been going viral.

People on social media aren’t happy with this ‘filmy’ act and are rather calling it ‘a drama’ or election gimmick. They also mentioned how they wasted litres and litres of milk which they could have donated to poor families and kids instead.

While jumping in the drain (a publicity stunt or not) was commendable since at least the AAP councillor took the matter into his own hands and cleaned it himself, wasting milk like this is not justified, especially for a leader.  

What was wrong with taking a bath with water? Why waste so much milk when so many people in India sleep in hunger?

We hope this doesn’t become a trend for the politicians to take a milk bath whenever they are on a mission clean-up. This needs to be discouraged.
