For the debutant Gujarat Titans, it was almost a perfect start to the season. The Hardik Pandya-led side started their journey in the IPL on a bang, defeating fellow newcomers Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by five wickets in their opening encounter of IPL 2022.
Fast bowler Mohammed Shami was the wrecker in chief for the Ahmedabad-based outfit as he started the new season with a dream delivery, which brought opposition skipper KL Rahul’s stay in the middle to an end ever before it started.

After getting the prized scalp of the LSG captain, the Indian speedster then rattled the timbers of his opening partner Quinton de Kock and Manish Pandey in his next two overs, pushing Lucknow on the backfoot.
Shami’s opening spell became a huge talking point on the internet as people from all over the world lavished praise on the veteran pacer for his incredible performance, which set up the whole match for his new franchise.

However, there was one appreciation tweet that ended up hogging the same amount of attention, if not more, as Shami’s outstanding bowling spell. This tweet came from the official handle of a famous Porn actress Kendra Lust.

The adult actress’ tweet sparked a joke fest on the micro-blogging site as Indian cricket fans used their creativity and entertained one another. Most of them were actually interested in knowing whether she actually followed cricket.

Last year, she had posted a photo-shopped picture of herself with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan and sent her best wishes to the actor on his birthday.
Talking about his performance, Shami was simply unplayable in his opening spell as he made the most of the perfect bowling conditions at the Wankhede Stadium and troubled the batters by bowling consistent “Test match” line and lengths.
Shami, who played for Punjab Kings last year, couldn’t have asked for a better start to the new season. He was adjudged the Player of the Match for his opening burst, and rightly so.
Reflecting on his performance at the post match presentation, Shami said: “I was warmed up well. It was important to get a good start in the first match, I looked to bowl a Test match line and length here. When the ball comes out of your hand like that. I have worked very hard on this seam position.”
“People say it is god-gifted, but that's not the case. I try to come round the wicket to a leftie and make that angle because that's the most uncomfortable thing for them. I just look to do that,” he added.
The Gujarat Titans fans would hope that Shami carries on his rich vein of form and continues to produce similar performances in the upcoming games.
