'Scale Doesn't Matter...' Shahid Reacts To 'Jersey' Clashing With Much-Hyped 'KGF 2'

After the huge success of Kabir Singh, Shahid Kapoor is all set to entertain fans with her next release Jersey. Also featuring Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur, Jersey is the official Hindi remake of the Nani-starrer hit Telugu film with the same name and is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, who also helmed the original. After getting delayed several times amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the film is finally releasing in theatres next week.

Talking about the clash, the director said, "I'm very confident about our product. Both films have enough space. The pandemic has done a lot of bad things, but the good thing it did is that it brought the film fraternity together. I want every film to work. And only have well wishes for everyone. We celebrated all the other movies that have done well and I wish the same thing for KGF 2".

Shahid, on the other hand, added, "When Kabir Singh came out people told me to do a huge scale film. But I feel like the scale doesn't matter. If a movie is good I think it will work. I'm chasing the heart of a film, not the size of the film. I don’t come from the thinking that I need to spend a lot of money and be a part of a huge film. I think the people are what make a film. I hope KGF 2 also works. Movies that come out during holidays always do better business. So I look at it that way".

For the unversed, Jersey and Yash-starrer KGF 2 will be fighting it out at the box office on April 14. Interestingly, Vijay's Beast will also be releasing in the same week.Β

While fans are eagerly waiting for D-Day, a section of moviegoers isn't happy with Shahid's film clashing with two big South films. However, Jersey makers are confident about their product. Well, we also hope that all the films do well at the ticket window.Β
