Ever since stepping into the spotlight for their stint in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Mumbai Indians, both Hardik and Krunal Pandya have been busy scaling new heights in their respective cricket careers. While Hardik has been busy cementing his spot in the Indian side on the back of some brilliant performances, his elder brother Krunal has been playing his trade for India A.

For the cricketers who fought off financial crisis early in their life, the Pandya brothers have clearly come a long way to establish themselves and support their family. On the 16th of August, the two Indian cricketers showed everyone what their father means to them.

Hardik had just surprised his father by slamming his maiden Test hundred during the 3rd Test against Sri Lanka. But, the biggest surprise was yet to be revealed. The Indian all-rounder made his father proud by gifting him a car.

Krunal took his father to a car showroom, while Hardik was available on a video call from Sri Lanka. Hardik was apparently helping his brother and father in selecting the car.

Hardik shared the video of the entire episode with his fans on Twitter. "So glad to see his face lit up like that?this is the guy who should get all the happiness in life and deserves all the credit, my dad," he tweeted.

When their father, Himanshu Pandya, agreed to buy the red car, the showroom manager came and said: "This is your car. You are the owner". Touched by Hardik's gesture, an ecstatic and emotional father took the phone and said, "I love you" to his younger son.

Hardik, too, responded with a series of tweets that highlighted his love for his father.

Moving from Surat in order to continue his sons' regular cricket training at Vadodara had already imposed tremendous hardship on Himanshu Pandya. Being the sole bread-earner for his family, Hardik's father - who had to shut down his small-time car-finance business in Surat in hopes of better training facilities in Vadodara - tried working in odd jobs to aid his family.

The struggles of their family were already enough when his father got a heart-attack, not one but two heart-attacks in a single night. Six months later, Pandya Sr. suffered another heart-attack to the sheer horror of his family. But, a timely medical attention averted the danger to his life.

From that moment on, the lives of Hardik and his brother Krunal changed completely as their family witnessed their worst-ever phase in life with a financial crisis and the risk of losing their father haunting their very own existence.

But, that was then, and this is now. The days of despair are far gone and it's great to see the Pandya brothers repaying their parents for all the sacrifices they've made to see them succeed.
