This Video Shows How Astronauts Wash Their Hair In Space And You'd Be Glad You Have Gravity

Being an astronaut takes a hell lot. Besides the education and skills, you need incredible mental and physical strength. Living in space for months on end can drive even the strongest of people insane. When you have to use special bags and a lot of effort to poop, it does get to you. But somehow astronauts keep it together.

While the most frequently asked question is how astronauts poop in space, we never wondered how they washed their hair in space? When you have to stay in space for months, you can't really get away without bathing or washing your hair. While there might not be any atmospheric dust, the body itself does produce sebum that makes the hair greasy and eventually dirty.

Who better than an astronaut herself to explain how they do it? Karen Nyberg, crew member of Expedition 36, demonstrates from the International Space Station how astronauts keep their hair clean while in space. You never realise gravity is so important till you witness the lack of it.

And that's how people with short hair do it. Much easier, and more satisfying to watch. Phew.

Aren't you glad your job lets you bathe and poop in the comfort of your home? Next time you sulk about going to office on a Monday, watch this video.
