2017 has been a very creative year for automobile makers and there are one too many concepts cars that have set multitudes of pulses racing for what the future has is in store for the automotive sphere. Spectacular design language is a stepping stone for any new concept and we were left stunned by endless glass roofs and dangerously low floors. The future is riding high on electric powertrains and that's clear from the number of EV entrants this year. We made a list of 12 of the most impressive concepts revealed this year and we are shaking with exquisite agony in anticipation for their production!
1. Audi ElaineAutonomous driving: Yes
Powertrain: Electric
Car type: SUV

The Elaine is unique not only because it looks like a million bucks on wheels but also because it is intelligent, you can thank Artificial Intelligence for that. The SUV offers fully autonomous driving, can self-park and travel nearly 500km on one charge. We can't get over the alloys, though!
2. Audi AiconAutonomous driving: Yes
Powertrain: Electric
Car type: Sedan

Based on the "inverted hexagonal Singleframe" design, the Aicon is another one of Audi's beautiful concepts powered by AI. The most striking feature of the car is its front and tail lights made up of "more than 600 3D pixels". Everything about the Aicon is brilliant from its glass roof to its suicide doors leading to plush interiors and the haptic-manual layer, voice control and eye tracking methods of engaging with the car.
3. BMW X7Autonomous driving: No
Powertrain: Plug-in Hybrid
Car type: SUV
If Rolls Royce manufactured an SUV, that's what it would look like and it isn't really shocking because design sensibilities often intermingle among partner brands. The X7 is luxurious inside out, starting from its massive radiator grille to its glass roof, ending all the way up to its rear. The car will be released in diesel and petrol variants with the power of 445 ponies.
4. BMW iVision Dynamics Gran CoupeAutonomous driving: No
Powertrain: Electric
Car type: Sedan

The kind of sedan you'll be sitting in with your future kids wearing flashy kimono-esque jumpsuits, that's what the vision the iVision Gran Coupe fills in your head the moment you see it. Rumour has it that the iVision is a Tesla fighting machine, but how it fares in the future EV market can't be ascertained any time soon. For now we'll settle for drooling over its glaring good looks.
5. BMW Z4Autonomous driving: No
Powertrain: ICE
Car type: 2 Door Roadster

Energetic Orange isn't the only refreshing thing about this Beemer concept, but it would be prudent to say that the Bavarian automobile maker has laid much emphasis on the design of the roadster calling it "total freedom on four wheels". The vehicle will be launched in four and six cylinder 2 litre ICE variants and there is also a possibility of a hybrid coming up in the future.
6. Honda Urban EVAutonomous driving: No
Powertrain: Electric
Car type: Hatchback

They meant Urban cutie, Honda has got this EV right and it's absolute love at first sight material. Much at par with the Beetle, Fiat 500 and Mini, the Urban is definitely one of the best hatchbacks we've seen. The LED display on its nose is agreeably the most striking feature of the car.
7. Kia ProceedAutonomous driving: No
Powertrain: Electric
Car type: Extended Hatchback

Bathed in Lava Red, the Proceed looks nothing less than a chariot of the gods and it made a lot of enthusiasts swoon because of its shooting brake design. We can see why!
8. Lexus LC 500 Inspired by Black PantherAutonomous driving: Yes
Powertrain: Electric powered by Vibranium
Car type: 2 Door Coupe

The pulsating underglow and self healing mechanism of this Lexus is what makes it one of the best concept cars we've come across this year. This vibranium bred LC 500 can even symbiotically integrate with the driver for a super emotive driving experience.
9. Mazda Vision CoupeAutonomous driving: Yes
Powertrain: -
Car type: Sedan

The Vision Coupe is very much in the league of luxury with its elongated bodywork, minimal lines and clean, vintage wood-veneer interiors. Don't kill us for stereotyping but it looks nothing like a Japanese make, on the contrary, it looks like it came out of the Queen's automotive workshop.
10. MINI Electric ConceptAutonomous driving: Yes
Powertrain: Electric
Car type: Hatchback
© Mini
Mr. Bean's whip in a brand new avatar, the Mini Electric is easy to love and easier on the environment. The design is true to the Mini signature but futuristic enough to last in the market for years to come. Let's just say it'll be another classic in a few decades from its date of launch.
11. Renault SymbiozAutonomous driving: Yes
Powertrain: Electric
Car type: Hatchback
© Renault
Symbioz isn't a just a car, it's an extension of your preferred habitat. Sitting in the Symboiz is like sitting in your safe place, your sanctuary, the zone where you're at your best. Who would've thought a car could bring out an emotive experience this strong?
12. Lamborghini Terzo MillennioAutonomous driving: Yes
Powertrain: Electric
Car type: 2 door Coupe
© Lamborghini
Top Class. The one concept that scores 10 on 10 in aesthetics as well as function. A lot of fingers were pointed at its outlandish nature but we're sure MIT and Lamborghini will work together to bring the production variant as close to the concept as possible. We want to watch the car self-heal!
