Hyderabad Is The First Indian City To Have 1GBPS Internet Speed andamp Weandamprsquore Jealous We Donandamprsquot Live There

We all struggle with the speed of our internet these days but soon that might not be a problem. Hyderabad has become the first city to get 1 GBPS speed and the wired internet service will be launched in 10 other cities in the near-term.

Bengaluru-based Internet Service Provider ACT Fibernet has been working on the launch of this extremely impressive internet speed for a year and a half, with an investment of about Rs. 100 crore. As of now, the plan will be offered at Rs. 5,990 per month in Hyderabad. Yes, it’s a little pricey, but it is 1GBPS!

The services were launched by Telangana IT minister K T Rama Rao who also said that key government establishments such as the secretariat and assembly, among others, will be upgraded to this high speed connectivity.

ACT Fibernet CEO Bala Malladi said, "The city of Hyderabad is apt for our maiden rollout (of the 1Gb services) as it has some of the best technology brands, educational institutions and a vibrant economy. We are confident this product will transform the way the internet is now being consumed at large and will also fast track the Telangana government's target to connect all its 23 million residents through the internet by 2018."

This is actually such an incredible feat as only four other countries in the world offer Gbps services on a large scale -- Seoul in North Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and a couple of cities in the US. Now, we can add Hyderabad to that list as well.
