There have been plenty of rumours that Apple might be going ‘all screen’ for the front display of the next iPhone and its time we put these rumours to rest, at least that’s what we want to assume. Apple has not confirmed anything at this point and it seems unlikely they will anytime soon, although the company has ordered 70-million OLED screens from Samsung. We can only assume that this order has something to do with the next rendition of the iPhone, since that has been one of the key rumours floating around.

Even though 70-million sounds like a huge number, it is actually half of what Apple needs i.e. 160 million and an analyst has concluded that Samsung will be able to fulfill only up to 95 million OLED screens for Apple by the end of this year.

Rumours about the OLED screen have been doing the rounds for months and it is assumed that the iPhone 8 or the iPhone Edition variant will sport OLED screens with some sort of curved design. This will be similar to what users have experienced with the Samsung’s Galaxy Edge series and it’ll be a big move for the Cupertino company.

The OLED screen is expected to be in at least one of the three models expected to launch by Apple later this year. There have been rumours that the OLED screen is intended to be on board the super expensive iPhone edition variant which will also have face recognition, an iris scanner and wireless charging capabilities.
