So, Anurag Kashyap has been in the headlines a lot recently and it’s not all straight forward because there have been twists and turns daily and the controversy is just going on and on. So, here is everything you need to know about it.

It all started with a tweet by Anurag Kashyap addressed to PM Modi asking him to apologise for his 2015 Pak visit.

@narendramodi Sir you haven't yet said sorry for your trip to meet the Pakistani PM.. It was dec 25th. Same time KJo was shooting ADHM? Why?

@narendramodi why is it that we have to face it while you can be silent??

His intention was to support Karan Johar on the release of ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and indirectly react on the ban on Pakistani artists. His stance backfired and twiterrati was furious.

Anurag being the chilled out guy that he is, he didn’t react to any of the hate but when a media personnel tried to approach him to get a word on the issue, he leaked the screenshot of the WhatsApp chat with the media person and the screenshot even included the person’s number. He gave this vague caption to the image ‘There is the media outside my house when I am not there ….looking for headline’. 

Later on, he deleted the post and clarified his initial tweet with this Facebook post:
