The other day my editor gave me his two cents on wearing ankle-length shoes with trousers. After a bit of a friendly tiff, we both arrived upon a conclusion that you'd agree on, too. What's the point of ankle-length shoes when you know they won't be seen? But who knew,  out of us two menswear debaters, that in exactly a day, Mr. Anil Kapoor would defy all odds by slipping into a cardigan on a white dress shirt, complete with a necktie and well-cut trousers. But wait a minute—what are those shoes? Aren't those ankle length? But what are they doing with trousers? Isn't that absolutely wrong?

Now,  before you jump into any conclusions, know who you're judging in here. It's Anil Kapoor, the official member of first family of style and one who has mastered the art of turning younger. Think Benjamin Button—but brown and hairier. Even though this looks wrong, it totally works for us, and should work for you too—think of it as going beyond the boundaries of generic style and fashion and experimenting with something new (even though it’s not a groundbreaking style hack!). The heel is giving him additional height and the cap toe pairs well with the cut of his tailored trousers.
