14/2/2019 will be marked as one of the darkest days in the history of our nation, as a fidayeen attack claimed the lives of over 40 CRPF jawans, who were killed in a suicide bomb attack in Pulwama, Jammu and Kashmir. 

A CRPF convoy of buses, trucks and SUVs containing over 2000 personnel, mostly who were returning to the base after their leaves, was rammed by a JeM terrorist driving a vehicle laden with almost 350 kgs of RDX, which caused the deadly explosion. 

With the entire county being thrown into a state of shock, anger and anguish, many of our nation's personalities have taken to social media to condemn the cowardly attack and have expressed their solidarity with the families of the martyrs. 

The nation's sports fraternity also joined hands to condemn the attack and express their condolences. 

“I'm shocked after hearing about the attack in Pulwama, heartfelt condolences to the martyred soldiers & prayers for the speedy recovery of the injured jawans,” said Indian skipper Virat Kohli in a tweet.

In another tweet, former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who was visibly enraged post the attack, said, “this time conversation has to be in the battleground.”

Several other sportspersons have also paid their tributes to the victims of the attack and have requested the government to give the necessary response to this deadly provocation.
