Malai is a cooking ingredient that you all must be familiar with. It's the creamy substance that's produced after heating non-homogenized whole milk to boiling point for about one hour and then allowing it to cool. 

The thick yellowish layer of fat that rises to the surface, which is skimmed off and use for other dairy food is your basic malai.

However, instead of eating it and using it in other dishes, you can also apply it on your face because there are tonnes of benefits of this dairy product for your skin:

Malai's smooth texture softens dried skin by rejuvenating the skin cells. Wear malai on the face as a mask or mix the malai with milk and turmeric for a compact mask.

Besides removing dirt from skin, malai can also tighten the pores, so if you have troubles like acne caused by loose pores, applying malai for about 15 minutes tightens the pores.

Malai can brighten the skin upon regular application. For a weekly mask: mix malai with a few drops of lemon juice and apply it on the skin for about 15 minutes.

To get rid of the tan, apply malai on your face and allow it to stay for a while. Rinse it with water. A thick paste of malai and besan will give you better results.
