Oil Rig Workers Save Dog 220 Kms Off The Coast Of Thailand & Our Faith In Humanity Is Restored

There is still some amount of compassion and empathy left in this world, where war and hate co-exist. People recognise the dire need for compassion that can change the basic ethos of the current negative situation everywhere and bring about balance in a much needed way.

Just recently we saw a prime example of the kind of empathy we're talking about when oil-rig workers rescued an exhausted dog off the coast of Thailand, giving him an absolutely new life. The tan-coloured dog who was later named Boonrod by his rescuers, which means 'survivor from karma' in Thai, was saved amidst heavy waves, in the middle of the sea in the Gulf of Thailand. The oil-rig workers saw the dogs head bobbing up and down, while they were busy at work and they brought him up on the platform.

Boonrod was about 220KMS away from the shore when he was spotted by Vitisak Payalaw, who went on Facebook to talk about the rescue. Vitisak works with Chevron Thailand Exploration and Production and he said if there were high waves while the dog was in water, they probably wouldn't even have seen him.

He put up a video of the dog when he was found, on Facebook.

According to Vitisak, the dog made it to the platform, clinging on to the support structure, without barking, whimpering or showing any resistance to water. The crew then lowered a rope and tied it to his neck to haul him up. The oil-rig workers suspect the dog may have fallen off a fishing trawler and couldn't find his way back to the shore hence. Boonrod has luckily found a home as well and guess where it's going to be? Vitisak has decided to adopt the dog and take him to his home in Northeast Thailand.
