Love can bring some of the biggest joys to one's life and Arjun Rampal's recent declaration is proof of that. We have all been aware of the fact that post Arjun's separation from his wife of 20 years, former Miss India Mehr Jesia last year, rumour mills worked overtime broadcasting that there was another lady in the actor's life.

True enough, paparazzi frequently began spotting Arjun with Mumbai-based South African model and actress Gabriella Demetriades, in the later part of 2018. From attending the same parties, to soon going out for private dinners, things escalated quickly after onlookers declared them a happy couple.

Soon came the cryptic Instagram posts, and finally by the end of 2018 Arjun and Gabriella made it pretty obvious that they were together. Come 2019, and last night both Arjun and Gabriella took to their social media accounts to announce that they are expecting their first child together.

The happy post expressed love, joy and gratitude for being able to start over a second time. Sharing a photograph of himself with girlfriend Gabriella, wherein she is seen flaunting her baby bump, he captioned the post thus, “Blessed to have you and start all over again. Thank you baby for this baby.”

Gabriella too shared the same picture on her personal social media accounts and expressed her gratitude for this blessing. Now, the news may have set a lot of tongues wagging but the outpouring of support and good wishes the couple have received upon declaring their pregnancy out of wedlock, shows that the Indian society has come a long way.

It's good to see that people do not wish to bring down two individuals in love under the pretext of upholding ancient societal taboos. The acceptance is proof that we have indeed come a long way.
