What's the most bizarre thing you've heard or experienced while boarding an aircraft or sitting inside one? I mean apart from the miles-high club, is there anything else that you may have found funny or alarming? Well, if not, here's something to feast your attention on.

A female passenger onboard a PIA flight opened the emergency door thinking it was the toilet and put the entire plane in to a frenzy. The woman had gotten up from her seat to use the toilet when the aircraft was on the runway of the Manchester airport early Saturday morning. She went ahead and pressed the emergency button which opened the exit door to the plane instead.

“The PIA flight, PK 702, from Manchester to Islamabad was delayed by seven hours. The departure was delayed on Friday night when a passenger erroneously opened the emergency exit causing the emergency chute to activate,” A PIA spokesperson told the press.

The incident took place when the plane was on the runway, ready to take off and all the passengers had to be offloaded from the plane, and their luggage was removed too. They were given hotels to stay in, as the flight was further delayed for seven hours. All because a woman couldn't read a sign that read 'Exit'.

“As per standard operating procedure, the PIA had to offload nearly 40 passengers and their luggage,”  - The PIA spokesperson added.

Deploying an emergency slide during emergencies is not a very cheap ordeal for flights. The flights have to pay a huge amount of money, whenever the emergency chute is deployed, even though the emergency in this case was claimed while the plane was stationary.

Well, we can't decide if this incident is funny or rather sad. We do agree the passengers were left in grave inconvenience when their flight was delayed, but people really have to learn to read signs better.
