This week, Monday came bearing its own set of saddening news for all the cricket fans in India. As an emotional Yuvraj Singh sat there informing the media about retiring from all forms of international cricket, all of us were forced to go back down the memory lane reminiscing all the magic tricks Yuvi pulled off throughout his colourful cricket career.

From being a 17-year-old making his international debut in 2000, to being a prominent stalwart in Dhoni's top squad for a long time, Yuvraj will remain one of the most prolific batting all-rounders that the cricketing world has witnessed. Nothing could hold back this champion who wielded his willow as thunderously, as he demolished the cancer in his lung that threatened to take over.

Yuvraj will always remain the unrivaled “sher” Indians have had the luck to witness.

That's the reason why industry bigwigs and fans have been showering the man with well-deserved praises. All that said, the latest celebrity to join the bandwagon is Bollywood rapper Badshah who penned an emotional and elaborate message for Yuvraj Singh, giving him credit for instilling hope in the hearts of thousands of youngsters like himself to dream big and turn it into a reality.

Badshah praised Yuvraj not only for his superb skills on the field, but also for being a genuine sportsman who has always been devoted to the game, and risen above every challenge that came his way.

This man in the picture will always be a legend to me. Yuvi paaji is probably one of the reasons for where i am in life right now. The young kid from chandigarh who excelled in his profession and became world class. He gave hope to a lot of kids from chandigarh. One of them was me. Through his game, he made a statement that it does not matter which city youre from, what matters is where you want to go, where you want to reach and what you want to be. A typical chandigarh guy who loves his cars and his food became an inspiration for millions of kids. He taught me not to give a **** about people who put you down and how you should let your work do the talking. And his work screamed. His work roared, straight into the face of the opponents. Not a flinch. Sweeping and pulling 360 degrees. Sher khan on the field and bagheera off the field. He taught me how to bounce back. He taught everyone how to bounce back. And that too with swag. Took cancer by its horns and defeated it without a frown. Crushed whatever doubts anyone had about him or his form and fitness post cancer. Again, no words, just some magnificent batting on field. Let his bat do the talking. And once the destruction was done, he'd go back to normal life of a typical chandigarh guy - food, friends and family. No media gungho, no glorifying PR stories.
