#HinduMuslimBhaiBhai Trending On Twitter Amid Ayodhya Verdict Instills Us With Faith In India's Unity

Following a legal climax nearly three decades in the making, today marks a landmark day in Indian history, as the Supreme court finally passed a verdict on the longstanding Ayodhya case.

Supreme Court orders that Central Govt within 3-4 months formulate scheme for setting up of trust and hand over the disputed site to it for construction of temple at the site and a suitable alternative plot of land measuring 5 acres at Ayodhya will be given to Sunni Wakf Board. pic.twitter.com/VgkYe1oUuN

With thousands of messages flooding in from all over India, many have been hailing the verdict as a great outcome, with Prime Minister Modi calling it a victory for 'peace and togetherness' across the nation.

The calm and peace maintained by 130 crore Indians in the run-up to today's verdict manifests India's inherent commitment to peaceful coexistence.

May this very spirit of unity and togetherness power the development trajectory of our nation. May every Indian be empowered.

While the Muslim side of the debate has expressed disappointment with the judgement, they have also been respectful of the Supreme Court's decision - urging fellow Muslims to do the same. On the other hand, many Indians, disinterested and tired of communal politics shared their own, somewhat frank point of view on the subject.

Regardless of political and religious divides, several Indians came together to discourage the same communal violence that has plagued the issue for so long - so much so that #HinduMuslimBhaiBhai began to spread like wildfire - even beyond #MandirWahiBanega.

Even as far as Tamil Nadu, Twitter fanpages took the message of unity forward.

Both are human beings. We love each other.

I love biriyani.

You love curd rice.

Thats all.

Let's be together forever. #hindumuslimbhaibhai pic.twitter.com/x2mrmLvp8b

Several users also highlighted the efforts of 92 year old advocate K. Parasaran, who backed the Hindu side of the case.

Despite all this communal positivity, it would be prudent to remember that while the landmark judgement is a sign of progress, such a major case still contains important details that need to be further ironed out, as senior journalist M. Narayanan pointed out.

So what happens to the verdict on the illegal demolition of #BabriMasjid ? #AyodhyaJudgment

Stay tuned for the coming days as well - a legal team is currently studying the Supreme Court verdict, and we may expect further developments.
