Amidst Ongoing Protest Against CAA, Delhi Police Offers Tea & Fruits To Detained Protesters


Just days after a clash between Jamia students and the police, thousands of protesters continue to gather in various parts of Delhi to protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, and reports of innumerable protesters being detained by Delhi Police continue to pour in. Amidst all the unrest, there are a few pictures going viral on social media that give hope that not everything is lost.

The pictures are of Delhi Police offering refreshments to the detained protesters. According to a report and pictures shared by ANI, Delhi Police provided the protesters, detained at Surajmal and Rajiv Gandhi stadiums, with bananas, dates, tea and lunch.

Reportedly, police said, "In order to provide a human touch, tea and lunch were served to protesters at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Bawana. Sheet, chairs and mats are also provided to all."

Delhi Police even tweeted about the same on their official Twitter handle with pictures and wrote, "Officers of Delhi Police interacting with the protesters...Offering tea, biscuits, water, etc."

According to reports, Delhi Police detained various protestors from the Red Fort and Mandi House and took them to Surajmal and Rajiv Gandhi stadiums.

During the protests, many students were clicked giving roses to the police personnel.
