In the current scenario, with the widespread protests over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and National Register of Citizens (NRC) across the country, people are finding innovative ways to voice out their opinions.
In one such instance, a couple from Kerala has become the talk of the town because of their unique way of protesting against the CAA and NRC.
As per the news reports, Arun Gopi and Asha Shekar, a CPM politician and a former journalist respectively, are getting married in January, 2020; however, they couldn't afford to keep calm about the ongoing protests in the country.
Their pre-wedding shoot was held on December 16, which was coincidentally a day after the police lathi-charged students of Jamia Millia Islamia and Aligarh Muslim University.
.
Ditching the cliched pre-wedding photoshoot, they utilised this opportunity to launch their protest against the CAA and NRC, as per the reports.
In one photo in a series of four, the bride and groom held placards that read, "No CAA" and "No NRC". The photo, ever since made available online, is doing the rounds on the internet.

In an interview with a media outlet edexlive.com, Asha said, "Right from the beginning, we were pretty adamant to not do a clichéd photo shoot."
"My fiancee is a left activist and I'm a former journalist. We both are against CAA and NRC. So we thought of going ahead with this concept. The photographers helped us a lot creatively too," she added.

The couple received mixed reactions for their act on the social media. While some appreciated this, others poured hatred.
"I've seen comments of people warning each other to be careful of us. I also heard that the photographer had received a threat. However, we'll resist it all. We won't back down," Arun was quoted by the media outlet.
