The band Sanam has reinvented some of the most evergreen classics from Bollywood. Lead vocalist Sanam has lent magic to our favourite songs from yesteryear. From the eternal love song ‘Gulaabi Ankhein’ to ‘Lag Ja Gale’, their renditions have found a permanent spot on our playlists. Besides Sanam, the band is comprised of Samar Puri (lead guitarist and vocals), Keshav Dhanraj (drums and vocals), and Venkat Subramaniyam (bass guitar and vocals).
1. Gulabi AankheinOne of the best romantic numbers in Bollywood, this RD Burman and Mohammad Rafi classic still manages to make hearts go aflutter. Sanam gives this one a rather playful twist.
2. Mere Mehboob Qayamat HogiAttempting a classic Kishore Kumar number, Sanam Puri does a fantastic job with the vocals while the band has added a beautiful contemporary touch to the music.
3. Roop Tera MastanaThis Kishore Kumar number is the ultimate mood lifter, and Sanam adds a peppy vibe to it, although we still love the original more!
4. Lag Jaa GaleThe most hauntingly beautiful song, this one is perfect for a sensuous evening and we love Sanam’s male voice version of it.
5. Aap Ki Nazron Ne SamjhaOriginally sung by Lata Mangeshkar, Sanam’s version is refreshingly beautiful.
6. Kuch Na KahoThe most magically romantic number of the nineties, this one never fails to create the perfect setting for a date. Sanam Puri and Shirley Setia’s chemistry is making us want to join Tinder again.
7. Pal Pal Dil Ke PaasAnother evergreen classic, another contemporary version. Hello pensive evening.
8. O Mere Dil Ke CheinAnother Kishore Kumar number, we never imagined the song like this.
9. Dilbar MereSend this to the one you love.
10. Mere Sapno Ki RaniThe first retro dance rendition of the band, this one is a peppier version of the original and perfect for that silent flirting in a party.
11. Hai Apna Dil To AwaraNot for a romantic evening, this on’s the anthem for every bachelor trip.
