Police Arrest Party-Goers At Delhi Nightclub ‘Playgue’ & Corona Must Be Laughing At The Irony
Delhi folks are known for their love of loud music, chicken tikka te daaru and crazy party scenes which can often leave neighbours complaining. But given the current scenario in the country, the call for physical distancing has ensured that such hip parties don’t get to see the light of the day, literally.
But did you think any of that or the government’s rules could stop a hardcore Delhiite from not attending a bash when given the chance? Hell no. And that’s exactly what the 31 people, who were detained by the police at a West Delhi nightclub, were caught doing.

Flouting all safety directions related to Coronavirus in the city, 31 people were recently arrested for attending a party at a nightclub with a very ominous name, Playgue. As for all the jazz that came with the party, attendees were served hookah and liquor, which is currently banned due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
As for Playgue, it reportedly served as a restaurant by the day and a nightclub after sunset. Fate left its side on Tuesday night when people noticed a number of cars lined up outside its premises and informed the police.

Upon their arrival, the police found that people were busy smoking and dancing on the dance floor. After looking around the club they confiscated four quarters along with seven bottles of booze.
Reportedly, the nightclub owners were also attending the party and have been now booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) Act, Excise Act, Epidemics Diseases Act, Disaster Management Act and Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act.

At a time when Delhi is reporting more than 1,500 COVID-19 cases on a daily basis, and given the steep rise in positive cases across the country, it serves these people right to be penalised for not only risking their lives but also others they could have ended up infecting in the future.
Even people on Twitter are amused by this incident:
I love EVERYTHING about this story of how Delhi can't stop being Delhi even for a hot minute.
1. A nightclub named Playgue
2. in West Delhi
3. masquerading as a take-away facility
4. serving liquor & hookah to patrons
5. in the middle of a pandemic

Most likely. Sad indeed.
The sad part is all of these people would be rich enough to afford medical treatment if the need arises

They are called Playgue. How seriously they must take epidemics!
