Satnam Singh: The 'Beast Workout' Of India's 7-Feet-2-Inch Giant Will Inspire Everyone
While 2015 might not hold good memories for Indian cricket fans, especially after their heart-breaking loss against Australia in the World Cup semifinals, the year was made memorable by the unlikeliest of the nation's sports heroes. Satnam Singh Bhamara had etched his name in the history books after becoming the first-ever Indian to be drafted in the famed National Basketball Association (NBA).
The then 19-year-old, standing tall at seven feet two inches and weighing just above 131 kg, was picked by the Dallas Mavericks as their 52nd pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. And, since then, that's the only thing he's ever been associated with. No one knows about his plight when he was warming up the bench. No one knows how Satnam felt when he was forced to move to the G-League after not featuring in a single NBA game.
