Two competitive tests that determine the fate of millions of India's students every year, JEE and NEET, have become the major point of controversy. Well, the political parties are fighting over how and whether students should appear for it or not. The students have taken to social media to protest and are saying that it’s risky to put them through this pressure when the state of affairs in the county in terms of Coronavirus cases is not very favourable.
If it’s a burning topic, there will be debates on news channels. One of the journalists who was supporting the argument of exams being held as it’s about the future of kids. Amish Devgan is a lead anchor on News18 and does debates like many journalists on TV are doing these days.
In one of the debates on the recent debates, he was shut down by one of the panelists for not being fair and called him ‘sarkar ka pithoo’ as he wasn’t letting her speak. Ragini Nayak wanted to stand by the students and ask for the postponement of the exams.
Here’s what happened:
AmishPithooHai ! pic.twitter.com/oXUdMoeCRl
Today, people noticed it and started to trend ‘Amish Pithoo Hai’ and they started to backlash him for not supporting students. They also bashed him for ill-treating a woman on the show.
Here are the reactions:
