For a team that has often been labelled as 'under-achievers' over the years, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) seem hell-bent on changing their fortunes this season. Despite finding themselves in tough situations, the RCB have, more often than not, managed to overcome their opponents this year. And, their team balance has never looked better in the past few years.
Continuing their impressive run, the Bangalore franchise made Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) their latest victim following a comprehensive 82-run win at Sharjah.
Chasing an imposing total of 194 runs, the Dinesh Karthik-led side kept losing wickets at regular intervals before eventually finishing at a lowly score of 112/9.

Though Kohli had initially struggled to get going earlier in the tournament, he had, more recently, started to regain his form. But at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Kohli, once again, found it difficult to play the big shots. In fact, the RCB skipper took 25 deliveries to hit his first and only four which came in the 19th over.
The interesting part is that even that lone boundary from Kohli didn't look convincing as it came off a thick edge of the bat. However, that didn't stop Kohli from celebrating it in his trademark, pumped-up, animated style.
The antics of an over-enthusiastic Kohli didn't really make any sense for the commentators and fans who couldn't help but wonder what the RCB skipper was celebrating for.

While De Villiers rightly earned the 'Man of the Match' award, the splendid bowling efforts of Chris Morris (2-17), Washington Sundar (2-20) and Yuzvendra Chahal (1-12) undoubtedly summed up a dominating team performance by the RCB.
With five wins and just two losses in seven games so far, the RCB are currently at the third spot in the points table, only behind Delhi Capitals (DC) and Mumbai Indians (MI) who have a superior Net Run-Rate (NRR).
