If someone said that the Indian version of Twitter would actually be called Tooter, you would think that it's pretty clearly a joke. But sadly, an app called Tooter does exist and it's basically a discount Twitter.

The Swadeshi social network, which is ‘Made in India’, is marketed as an alternative to the 'American social network' sites (while blatantly taking the same interface, but let's just ignore that for now).

Coming back to the actual app, it's almost an exact copy of Twitter, right from the blue colour to the entire user interface. Well, I guess, you toot instead of tweet on there, probably.

The discount Twitter is already one of the biggest topics of discussion on Twitter and the hilarious tweets about it feels like a version of the meme 'can I copy your homework' 'okay, but change a few things'.
