In the ever-competitive world of sports, every player or team enters into a contest with a solemn purpose of winning. It's the hunger to outperform their opponents that often push athletes both physically and mentally, often giving birth to rivalries. Cricket, too, has witnessed its fair share of rivalries and banters over the years.
But, despite tempers flying around on the field, every cricketer knows where to draw the line and uphold the spirit of the game. The modern-day cricket scenario, which has given birth to the new format, has allowed cricketers to know their opponents better than ever - thanks to all the private T20 leagues emerging across the globe.
While their international duties might pit them against each other, modern-day cricketers are now often seen playing alongside each other as teammates for a franchise they have no connection with. That has not only allowed cricketers to improve their game but also established rapport and mutual respect amongst the players - something that was in full display during the 2nd ODI between India and Australia.
