India and its big fat wedding has found a ton of takers. Nothing short of an extravaganza, desi shaadis are all about a huge gathering, loud AF live bands, fireworks, and of course, there is THE feast where the norm is to have a three-course buffet meal which caters to every kind of palate.

Now, while that’s a typical Indian wedding for you on a regular day, things have been anything but regular this year. With the coronavirus acting like a stubborn guest, a lot has changed. With government restrictions on hosting weddings, couples have either postponed their weddings or have been forced to get married under restrictions which call for physical distancing and a limited guestlist.

However, a couple from Rajasthan’s Bara, ditched all that and went a step further. After their hopes for a big fat wedding were dashed when the bride tested Covid positive, the couple decided to get married at the Covid-care centre itself. 

Clad in PPE kits, the couple decided to take their wedding vows at the Kelwara Covid Centre in Rajasthan's Bara. The bride and groom can be seen performing the wedding rituals in a makeshift pandal, while the priest, also dressed in PPE kit, marries them off.
