IAF Calls Out Anurag Kashyap & Anil Kapoor's 'AK vs AK' For 'Uniform & Inappropriate Language'

Turns out, Anurag Kashyap’s much-awaited film AK vs AK is in troubled waters already as the Indian Air Force, on Wednesday, showed their displeasure over the recently-released promotional clip of the film.

The Indian Air Force demanded "withdrawal" of a few scenes from the  soon-to-be released film after a teaser was shared on Twitter by actor Anil Kapoor - who is playing the lead role in the film.

The IAF has complained that the uniform is donned inaccurately and that the language used in the clip is inappropriate. further demanding that the scene be withdrawn

The IAF’s official handle on Twitter read, “The IAF uniform in this video is inaccurately donned & the language used is inappropriate (sic).”

It further added, “This does not conform to the behavioural norms of those in the Armed Forces of India. The related scenes need to be withdrawn. @NetflixIndia @anuragkashyap72."

In the scene, that the IAF has a problem with, Anil Kapoor is seen donning a blue shirt adorning badges and IAF insignia resembling the IAF uniform.

In these scenes, Anil is shooting for a film when Anurag barges in and tells the actor that he has kidnapped his daughter Sonam Kapoor. He also says that Anil has only 10 hours to save his daughter.

However, according to the YouTube description of the film, Anil Kapoor plays himself in the film and not an IAF officer. Kashyap pulls Kapoor out of the sets of a film in which he portrays an IAF character and that’s why the actor is seen in the uniform throughout most of the film.

If you haven’t watched the trailer yet, watch it here:

The movie is set to be released on December 4.
