Shubman Gill Hitting 'Nice & Clean' In The Nets Brings Much-Needed Relief To Indian Fans

Following an embarrassing eight-wicket loss at the Adelaide Oval, the Indian cricket team is doing all it takes to put up a much-improved show against Australia in the 2nd Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Poor fielding and ordinary batting were amongst the reasons behind the tourists' downfall in the 1st Test and surely Team India wouldn't like to repeat them.

In a bid to fix the gaping holes, the Indian team is likely to make key changes, especially in their batting order which has been weakened further in the absence of captain Virat Kohli. The likes of Shubman Gill, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant are expected to make a return to the playing XI as India eyes a comeback in Melbourne.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has been pretty active on social media, sharing the photos and videos of Team India from Down Under to keep the fans informed about their exploits. Recently, the Indian cricket board shared a series of photographs and videos of the players as they underwent a gruelling net session.

Amongst those posts, there was one where dashing batsman Shubman Gill was seen playing exquisite strokes with impeccable timing in the training session. "Nice and clean from @RealShubmanGill #TeamIndia #AUSvIND," the BCCI tweeted.

The 21-year-old is expected to bat in the top-order, and might even open the innings, for India in the 2nd Test which is slated to begin from 26th December. The right-hander has been roped in after the consistent failures of Prithvi Shaw who could only manage to score 0 & 4, batting at the top in Adelaide.
